It will pass near Earth in 12th of October 2017, in like a month or so.
With some help of the Lasers that NASA have already developed with the Idea to prevent asteroids from hitting Earth they can actually guide this smaller one -40meter in diameter into a certain place on the planet

The fire is located a few miles east of Portland, Oregon's outer suburbs, and is currently burning through a region known as the Columbia River gorge, a popular tourist destination with waterfalls, trails, lakes, mountains, viewpoints, etc. Some of those are on the verge of getting torched, or have already burned.
