Post your Cranes
Bigger version of the smaller ones
A few folds in the wings to give the feel of feathers
>Still working on perfecting this one

Whoops, here's the pic
What's in the box?

A baby crane!
Last one for scale
I made this crane wreath a couple years ago, hope you enjoy. the paper broke because it was like thick "scrapbooking" cardstock
i keep tiny pieces of paper on me to fold into cranes when i'm bored. lighting isn't as cool as yours but heres a pic!

This is dope.
I've been thinking about making one of these wreathes as well.
>>550095
Nice. I've got so many cranes lying around too.
I've been thinking about stringing them together with twine.
Cranes but a different design.
Using tant paper.
Definitely helps with the movement of the wings when they flap.
One more by itself

This flapping bird is also working perfectly with regular printer paper and duo-color 'origami' paper.

>tant paper.
I love using that paper brand
I've always hated making cranes.
i make one each time i kill somebody.

Very cool
"Holographic" paper.
Very cool looking but doesn't flex and hold it's shape line regular paper.
op how did you get the back of it to puff out without tearingthe paper

I can suggest a YouTube video:
https://youtu.be/2sn5Rk-jV-w
Go to 4:20 and see how the reverse fold is done.
When i first learned that particular fold i totally screwed it up, mangled the paper.
It might take a few pieces of paper to get it right.
>Don't forget that on a desktop you can slow the YouTube video down and really see how the paper folds.
Monster crane with smaller cranes for scale

These are beautiful! What kind of paper did you use?
Working on 1000 so I can string them up.
Made these just now
currently about half way done for my thousand cranes.
how long you you spend on each crane?
fastest I can manage is about 3.5 minutes.
I am working with 4cm (1.5 inch) paper
>>553077
3.5 minutes seems very long!
I don't know about OP, but when I made a lot of it a few years back (not a thousand though), at the end I spent just a bit over a minute per crane.
And I'm sure there are rapid folders who can do much better.
How do you fold them?
Do you use the "traditional Japanese method" starting with triangular folds, then squash folds and pull-outs to get to the preliminary base?
Or do you fold the base by marking the diagonals and the medians and then collapsing directly into the preliminary base? This is quicker (at least for me) and also more precise.
>>553097
I started with the traditional method (for about 20 cranes) then found the one with the diagonals, found it easier and went with it.
The thing is I also check if the crane seems 'alright' and try to fold it very exact, because its supposed to be a present.
The paper size seems to slow me down, I started out by making bigger ones. The smaller ones have a lot of delicate folds (me having big fingers is also not helping)
maybe I can check on some youtube videos how such speed can be reached.

awesome, cool paper choices
Hey /po/ I am going to fold 1000 paper cranes
What should I wish for? A girlfriend?
>>555046
Wish for some self-determination so that next time you fold a thousand cranes, you'll know by yourself what you should wish for...

So a girlfriend it is
