How did you get into that program?

Highly interesting as a topic. The helmet shot is a very strong introduction to the series. For photojournalistic purposes, you should've used a longer lens (or cropped in rather heavily): many of the helicopter shots have too much dead space.

How come the guy in the third one is wearing what looks like a really bad bicycle helmet? Is it like a mount for an action camera or something? Hard to imagine that stopping even shrapnel.

Too bad you didn't shoot more, because the last one starts looking like you're finally getting the hang of it & shaking off the "omg I'm literally embedded at Omaha Beach" impression of the second image. Shoot more. Again, the helmet shot is real nice, a lead so strong as to call a false start.

The helmet is an impact protection helmet, he is part of an helicopter rescue team, so he is more concerned with hiting a skid head on than with getting shot at.

I did shoot more, but I just dumped what I shot on film. Short notice and I had a single roll on me.
