You would think that you could just snap a few at once to ensure you got it, because it does have a 7 shot buffer, but in reality each shot just multiplies the time to clear it and be able to review, and you don't want 7 blurry shots, you want 1 sharp one.

So in spite of the tiny size that encourages you to bring it everywhere to snap away, you really are better off shooting it like a film camera. Use a tripod, use the self timer, and *know* you've got the shot, rather than letting it frustrate you.

No, only Canon exif are scans. These are Sigma Merrill.
Also, the thing actually gets hot in your hands. The battery life is actually comedy bad. I mainly switch it off between shots just because I don't want the sensor roasting itself to death.
I just love the sharpness and the colour though. It's quite surreal the first time you zoom to a 100% crop on a RAW file, or when you get a night time long exposure into the computer and realise the colours are clean and bright, rather than the normal muddy look of other cameras.

It's a bit sad it's got such bad boke though.
I'd be pretty happy to put together a full set of Merrills. Not convinced the Quattro is actually an upgrade in IQ.

I also bought a tripod, so I could get some better shots, and use my MF cam.
I really can't recommend the Gitzo Explorer enough, with the Arca p0 Monoball there's almost nowhere you can't put a camera, even on a waterfall. With an L-bracketed camera it would be perfect. As it is you can still get it where you need it, it just takes a little more care.

This is the first time I've actually been sort of happy with the results from this film, Retro 400S. I still wouldn't recommend it though. It's horribly grainy in shadows, and has inconsistencies in the emulsion itself.
If you've got some you must use, stick with textured, contrasty subjects that won't show large areas of continous tone, and overexpose a bit.
Oh, and a fake and gay toning on this one, because fuck you guys.

The focusing calibrations for the front standard are way off, so most of the roll was focused way behind the subjects. This may have been wide open, but I don't really recall. The subject was the heavily defocused fern in the foreground.

The EM is quite nice. Fantastic feel when you wind it on.
Aperture priority only though, and a slappier mirror than the FM2 I have.
But the meter is perfect, and if you know what you're doing you can apply compensation with the ISO dial.
Also has M-Up on the self timer.

Well I was hoping for a little more separation of the log from the background, but in the end I had too much depth of field, the light was too flat and the background was too busy.
So instead I processed it to a high detail, high contrast lithograph style.
Think like a really detailed wood block print.
