Did you look in your manual?
I think I did, I've had this problem for a while but just now asked you guys. Unfortunately I lost the manual a little while ago but I believe I didint find the answer
>>2786941
You can find it online. You should read it.
It would tell you that it means that it's dark as fuck in your bedroom and your photos are going to come out blurry. That's also why you can't focus.

Can someone please tell me wtf that is?
Some lady says it's Photography + Yoga, but that's clearly not what everyone else is using the hashtag for. Help?

Shameless bump. Anyone?
don't know, don't know if I give a shit to look any further. found yoga (self evident), hockey (yo bro maybe?) and this.
how unstable can that bitch be if it takes 3 people to hold an 18 foot ladder?
>>2786867
I search for the hashtag and it looks like a very small community of people using it, usually as YOtoGrApher, and it's lifestyle stuff from people who clearly value yoga. *shrug* Not sure why it would be such a big deal for you.
Rika calm down.
hey guys I need some help with a pentax k1000 I found laying around. So here's the problem, I am shooting with ASA 800 and set my speed dial to… well 800, then when setting my shutter speed to 60 or 125 when I hit the shutter release it seems like the mirror flips up and the viewfinder goes black but stays black for much longer than 1/60 of a second then I click the shutter once again it seems like the shutter release. So it seems like this won't ruin the photo if it really is just the mirror flipping up then the shutter releasing. But is it possibly a thing that happens often? and would any of you know exactly what is happening. (When you go to 1/1000 shutter speed there is no problem the shutter and mirror all do what they should.
mirror might be sticking to the foam buffer up near the pentaprism... but im sure someone will actually know
might also be that your battery is dead and it's only shooting at mechanical speed, which iirc is 1/125th, so it's probably not that
>>2786827
My Pentax-P30 does this exact thing when it's very cold. It completes the whole shutter cycle apart from flipping the mirror down.
It could be the mirror sticking to the foam as eggy said, or it could be the second curtain not completing it's cycle. When the second curtain complete its cycle, it trips the mirror return lever. It's a fairly common problem with many Pentax cameras since they all share the same shutter assembly.

check this out. I know it's not your camera but the procedure should be very similar

You should be happy someone is even willing to use your snapshit for their own product, dont get greedy. Post the photo in question.
How much money is going to be involved? Is it a band that only makes $300 a year playing local shows or somebody signed to a major label?
Charge annually and for every re-issue. Don't forget t-shirts, advertisements/promo.
Art can be worth a shit load of money if you play it right.
Buy the Graphic Artists Guild book guide to etchics and pricing. It will help you a bit. Photography is really kinda no different.
Hi /p/ ! Today I bought on a flea market a cokin filter.
Its reference is A 171 RB but I can't find anything on it.
Should it be used with Black and White film or with color film ?
Should I use it with something else? Like another filter ?
Thanks for your help.

I just want to know more about this filter than just a fucking website which sells this filter for 1079$. So stop bragging because you googled my reference and found a fucking picture.
>>2786194
You turn the damn thing to turn the filter from red to blue and back. It's two colored polarizer next to each other, just looking at the damn thing I can tell that.
Have you not attended school? Are you stupid? You have a hobby in close relation to physics more specifically optics. You should know all this stuff!
Took some random snapshits lately, what do you think? I'd appreciate some CC, not that you can do better.

Bring a tripod and stop down to iso 400 or so - no need to be at 3200, shit's noisy as. Also take multiple exposures or pulse off a flash during the exposure to get more light on your foreground.
Gear Thread
If you have questions about a new camera, what lenses to buy and anything related to gear or wondering about getting into photography, post it in this thread.
Do not attempt to make a new thread for your new Rabal, broken glass and being new.
No pointless (brand) arguments and dickwaving allowed! You have been warned!
I repeat, ANYTHING GEAR RELATED goes in here!

Sorry for the late response, I was asleep.
So the S95 is a good choice then? Because I can get one like new for 150 after shipping with all the stuff included.
Is this the way to go for someone who just wants a really high quality point and shoot that can still do pretty crisp/less grainy pictures? Because I'll grab it when I'm back from work if it is.

Also to you guys, I didn't ignore what you said and I'm still gonna save up for 500-700 dollar-ish one because yeah I do have disposable income, I just want something that I can carry around in my pocket at the moment that isn't completely garbage-tier like you warned me about.
Would saving for the starter kit of the canon D3300 or the EOS Rebel be a good place to start, or should I really consider the ones you already suggested?
>>2786122
Nikon D3300. Yes, that's one option.
I personally do not like the Canon Rebels. High-end Canon (e.g. 5D III and above) are fine, but the Rebels and older/low-end Canon cameras are lacking in sensor performance & software features in comparison to the other brands.
I don't see why you wouldn't get a Pentax, Sony, Olympus or whatever else instead...
this is so amazing and makes me cry, but is it possible to achieve this effect with a medium or small format camera? I want to take circular photos but a fish eye filter is out of question because of distortion. applying tape would be a solution, but pic related has this particular effect, the flares at the top - the picture looks like a bubble or a big glass button, which is lovely. are there any lens filters or overlays which would help to achieve this effect? ofc the border will be inevitably black, but that's not a problem

the "flares"are from uneven pressure and unevenly spread developer. this is only possible in instant film. if you want a circular image with negatives just shoot square and use a matte when printing, or crop circular in post if you use a digital workflow
