Any other Concert Photographers out there? I've been shooting concerts (mostly raves) professionally for a little over 3 years now and love seeing other peoples work as well as getting feedback on my own. Let's see some photos!

carlo pls
Hey /p/ros
So I've recently been shooting for a small boutique in my city. When they asked me for a rate I did a flat fee of $470 for a half day.
We shot about 12 outfits for their website and I got paid promptly.
Once the "art director" start posting my images i noticed she did her own retouching on top of mine. She made a girls butt bigger, tried highlighting a models hair but just really turned it blue and did a horrible unsharp mask. I know all of this because she told me at our recent job. but still used my name as the photographer.
My edits are not that amateur looking.
just shot for them again on Saturday (the same day she told me how she edited over my work) and we managed to pull off 20 outfits for the same rate.
Keep in mind this is on location, outside with a ton of different lighting obstacles and by-standers. I was burning and turning and got some great shots.
I also got a long list of retouches to do (cleaning up windows, removing cars, and by-standers)
So I replied with an email saying the album I give comes retouched but if they want additional items removed it'll be $10 an image.
I also made it a point to ask that the art director leave my edits as they are.
Here's the response I got
"Np. Let's not worry about removing the extras.
And I don't mind running images I've played with.
Thanks."
any advice? I def. don't want to give an album out until I get paid this time. Got a feeling someone that thick will try to be sly
any advice please - feeling a little frustrated

Why would you work with these people again after they betrayed your trust?
If someone lied to me and said they didn't retouch my photos I would never speak to them again, especially if it was impacting my business.
"I do not mean to be rude or overbearing, but I am not entirely comfortable with the images I produce being displayed under my name after being altered by another individual other than myself.
Or something along those lines. And has she not paid you for the latest job? Idk, I don't even think I could work for/with someone who uses contractions and fucking "np" in an email. Fucking nobody has any professionalism anymore?
Why does Sony make such shit products? The A* are OK but every other camera and lens they have released (don't even get me started on this whole Zeiss meme partnership) has been total dogshit. Meanwhile, you look at any Canon or Nikon equipment and it's consistently praised for being a fair value or high performing purchase.
Is Sony just under more criticism than others? I haven't seen a single scenario where a Nikon or Canon couldn't do the same for less money, if not even better.
>>2825921
Mirrorless full frame?
compare canon's and Nikons's to the A7?
How about low light performance in a consumer camera?
How about high resolution in a consumer camera?
How about IBIS in a consumer camera?
Fuck man, I'm a fuji fag, but idiots gotta get got.
>>2825922
>compare canon's and Nikons's to the A7?
If you want the completely out of date A7, sure, compare them.
Otherwise you're comparing everything to the A7Rii which is as much or more than Canon or Nikon equivalents.

fuckin who cares about slightly better iso performance and megapickels when the camera itself is an absolute nightmare to use.
I guess I'm an idiot with an idiot question. I had a Canon 7D for about 6 months, shot photos and video with it and never really had a problem. I'm somewhat new to photography but I always shot in manual and was able to get my photos properly exposed. I picked up another used Canon 7D recently and all my photos are way underexposed and I don't know why. Sometimes they're even black. I can try changing the ISO, the aperture, the shutter speed, and still they're way too underexposed. What am I missing?
>>2825754
Firstly, there's a stupid questions thread.
Secondly, there's no where near enough info here. Generally, if you have a question like this you should post examples with exif and not fucking stock info.
Thirdly, my guess is you have no clue how the meter works.
a) what's the metering mode?
b) don't use manual if you don't need to, aperture priority is fine.
>>2825759
also yeah, this.
Post two photos, same settings same lens same camera same composition, light, etc everything. If one is dark and the other isn't, then there's something up.
I'd like to get some opinions about the way you guys go out and shoot (I'm talking about personal practice, not professional assignements).
Here's the thing : until now, my shootings were planned, and I would have as much time as needed to get at least one satisfying shot out of it, which was fine by me.
But now my job takes a huge part of my time and I can't just go out for hours whenever I like. However, during my job, I get to travel a lot around the country, I go on location to meet clients and follow construction sites. In both urban and rural environments.
So I decided to take my camera with me everywhere, and use these few minutes I have outside to shoot as much as I can. Which proved to be very hard. Not only am I very limited in terms of time, but also space.
I was thinking that by adding those constraints I could train my eyes to catch and compose my shots in a more effective way. So far it's a bit frustrating but I'm just getting started, so I wanted some opinions on this, and also on the way you approach your shootings.
Do you think that could work, or does it seem like too much to be able to be creative in any way? Are you a quick shot, or do you need time and trials to get what you want ?
I'll post 2 or 3 shots from today morning, you've been warned, pointless stuff incoming. But feel free to be harsh, I don't mind.

Step 1) Stay alert for interesting/unique subjects/colors/light
Step 2) Find them
Step 3) Get camera out and start looking for a way to emphasize what I found while minimizing distractions and useless information
Step 4) Decide whether it's best to take the photo now, in the current condition/light or better to come back later at a better time.
Step 5) Take the photo
Step 6) Go process the photo to support my intent.
In your photos, I have no idea what motivated you to take the shots, as there's tons of stuff in both, but none of it is interesting, or unique, or pretty, or ugly, or emphasized. Also, they look unprocessed.
>>2824603
I shoot raw with every NR and color filter off, so the only process I always do is to solve a little bit of that if needed.
Bu just to be sure, what do you mean exactly by "unprocessed"? Because I don't think any kind of processing would make these any better.
To answer your question, I was looking for some kind of structure, symetry in which I could frame a subject, in that case, one or two trains. But yeah, it was a bad day, the light was horrible, rain, wind. And I only got to go in industrial areas, but not the cool kind.

How to edit like this ? Some presets or maybe tutorial ?
https://www.flickr.com/photos/bellakotak/
>>2823892
idk about the editing, but it looks like they focused a little bit short of the subject and had her move a little, or maybe another shot was blended in?
also, it looks like all the colours were shifted towards red and blue, there is vignetting, the blacks were crushed obviously, maybe some subtle split toning as well? blue shadows and pink highlights

What is this "style" called? How do I do that in photoshop? Is it just several pictures overlayed with different opacity, hue and blur?

On the subject, could taking a 3 shot burst and usnig a channel from each photo be used to emulate a Prokudin-Gorsky? I love the effect his technique had on movement but can't test it out at the moment since I'm not near any fast moving streams.
I'm trying to install Adobe Lightroom CC on my EOS Rebel T6 EF-S 18-55mm IS II Kit but I keep getting an Err 70 message. I have a 64 gig SD card, that should be large enough??
Any help is most appreciated.

Did you format before you tried install?
Lightroom is only supported on the 1D series, sorry.
Casey Anthony, pls leave.
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT.
I hate when stepper rings get stuck on filters.
I generally only use my cpl on my 20mm, but today I need it on my 85mm...guess what isn't coming off.
What little niggling annoyances have gotten to you recently?
WD-40, Luke!
>>2823247
Aerokroil son, aerokroil.
Try palming your filter off. Twist with your palm on the front of the ring instead of squeezing the sides, and thus potentially bending the ring enough to cause it to bind.
Hey /p/.
I got these black squiggles on my lens, but I have no idea what to do.
Help?

Based on how sharp the objects are I would suggest that this is actually debris on the sensor, rather than the lens. Get a decent sensor cleaning kit from a local camera store and watch some Youtube videos on sensor cleaning.
>>2823137
I switched out the lens for another lens. The marks only appear on one lens. I'm fairly certain it's the lens.

I'm wondering why he releases all his videos in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS like a special snowflake.
I'm hoping there won't be too much wankery, his videos are interesting but you can almost hear him mentally jerking off whenever he opens his mouth.
>>2823140
True, but he's done more than you'll ever hope to do.

now, this is what i call edgy. Stfu, there will be goddamn Titarenko. Who cares about all capital letters.
