missed putting these in last week's thread by like 2 hours
The ocean effect ended up working a lot better than I thought it would.

Am i the only one who is having problems hitting focus with 85mm lens, or is it everyone else?
f 1.8 or f 2 is almost unusable, not only eyes end up not in focus, but face too in 9 out of 10 shots. Wondering if this is a common problem, or just my camera calibration.

Do you guys try to use natural lighting as much as possible? Is shooting in natural lighting a meme?

kill yourself senpai.

It's not a meme, and I like trying to shoot mostly in natural light. If its a dire need then I'll use the flash but I usually hate doing that.

There's some really nice stuff on there, I also like the design of the website, although it's rather 'safe'.
/p/ wouldn't be /p/ without some harsh critique, though:
Go easy on the ''tired people in public transportation'' meme.
Same goes for ''old/ugly/'special' people in close-up street portraits'', it's arguably more of a genre than it is a meme, but still, it's been done a lot so it doesn't stand out. There are thousands of ''gritty portrait of a bum'' photos, if not more. Technically speaking they're good, but not exceptional. You need to set yourself apart from the rest by doing something different/better than the others.
''First name Last name photography'' is a rather cliché name. Not trying to be a dick here, but I'll forget your name in an hour if not less.
I like pic related a lot, it's the best after the one you posted here already.

Yeah man, I agree with the special close up portraits. Bruce Gilden got me into street shooting so I can never imagine not giving his style some kind of homage.
I take the most pride in the INSIDE work. It's what I've been working on a lot recently and I feel as though it stands out most of all my work. I try to shoot in indoor locations because not a lot of people are doing it, and I feel I can create a niche with it.
Thanks for the feedback, man. I really appreciate it.
What's /p/'s opinion on voyeur photography?
Creepy, interesting, weird? I'm big into it myself, but in a tasteful way.

Street photography?
Hello mates, me and my girl is starting a photobooth small business, though I'm a bit dumb with the technical part of it, so pelase correct me if I'm wrong, but is this usually how it goes?
>Monitor connected to camera via hdmi (VGA-HDMI) for live view purposes
>Camera is connected to laptop via usb for the pictures.
is this the whole concept in its simplest form?
thank you friends

You know, usually it bugs me when people respond with negative posts and no helpful solutions. It just seems like people getting online to be dicks just for the sake of being dicks...
But this guy is spot on. It's clear from your post that you have no idea, and are looking for the easiest way to cobble something shitty together. You and your "girl" (what, girlfriend, fiance, wife, second cousin?) are starting a small business around something you know nothing about? It sounds like you two were out having fun and stopped at a photobooth or something and just thought "Hey, why don't we do this" and did no more research than that.
Not saying that's the case mind you, saying thats how you come across.
Here is my advice: Do some real research online (not 4chan) and then look at the area your wanting to set this up in. Will there be demand to support you? Where will you set up? Will you have to pay the property owner to setup? What expenses will there be? ect.
I would almost guarantee you that if you spend the time researching all of that you will also get the answers to your question, and realize why posting the question here was foolish. Good luck.
Let me know what you think. I haven't had a real critique in a while.

Content: It's utterly boring. Dime-a-dozen. It's the type of thing that everybody does when they get their first DSLR. It's a "Hey! I just discovered shutter speed!" photo. What's next, a slow shutter speed shot of a waterfall? You can see shit like this all day every day from beginner photographers on Facebook. It's completely forgettable in every single way.
Execution: The one single defining quality that makes these types of photos successful is sharpness. You've got to nail focus, and you've got to nail the shutter speed. Guess what? You fucking failed. The body of the bird---the one thing that's supposed to be steady---is blurry. So, you failed. Besides that, though, the processing is shittastic. It's dull, boring, and flat. As long as you nail the basics, then a shot like this should be automatically decent. But somehow you managed to fuck up even the most basic aspects of this.
Also, take your shitty watermark off of it. That's not a "pro" thing to do. It doesn't build your brand. It doesn't advertise. It doesn't get your name out. It's something that fake, shitty, "first-name last-name photography" Facebook morons do. You know what else it does?
Also, you should probably delete your Facebook page. It's honestly embarrassing. I'm not trying to be dramatic. Perhaps you'll be great one day. Perhaps you'll learn and become a really talented photographer. But holy shit, bro, that's an astonishingly terrible collection of horrible photos.
Go back to the basics.
>>2936704
Hi Thomas
>>2936704
Gee I hate when people watermark their shitty photos. As if anyone would care about them...
So different fluids have different refractive indices...what if any interesting effects could you get with a liquid filled (using like layers in different planes even) camera body?
>>2936555
You'd just get a hazy image if you had a liquid filled body, sensors/film don't exactly work with liquid beating against it.
Now hypothetically if you could put some sort of transparent gel or suspended liquid in your camera body, you'd get a Petra Collins aesthetic at best and nothing coherent at worst
>>2936555
Hell if you want to try this out get a fully manual film camera(no batteries), and take some photos with your body full of water, you'll ruin the body and lens and learn that it's not feasible but at least it'll be a fun science experiment
Liquid lenses to solve optical problems
Black holes can also be used as lenses due to the way they warp space
How do you guys get hot people to pose nude for you?
Usually I just have hot friends who want photos of themselves, I've never had to pay for a model
Alternatively if you're a NEET, do modelmayhem and pay money to get a model to work for you
