Does it suck?
Is it shit?
Just be honest please.
I'm getting discouraged and morale is low.
Am I just wasting my time, trying to let others see my photography.
If so, then I'm erasing and deleting all my photography on social media platforms.
I already deleted my tumblr and Instagram. About to delete my Flickr.
Depending on what you guys say, the next account will be this 500px account, and then my facebook photos will be deleted, then, that should be it.
Seriously.

not even worth a look?
Your black and white street photography is good overall. Some are just okay but others are really nice. Your false-color photos are horrid imo.
Pretty good/10
Street photography and the pictures of the ferris wheels are solid, but the others are pretty boring
So I'm going to japan and from there I'll spend a few days in hong kong and thailand.

Are there any good sites explaining/teaching photography? Basically I just bought a dslr because I like taking photos on walks and have no idea about any of the exposure, shutter speed etc or how to correctly utilise them

Hey, /p/
I'm heading down to North Carolina for the total solar eclipse and am going to the top of a mountain to try and record the event.
However, I have practically no knowledge of how to get a clean recording considering the unique light conditions (I'm as novice as a photographer as you can imagine).
Since I will be in a localized shadow with a large landscape what sort of settings do I use on the camera? What ISO level, etc? It's my understanding that you shouldn't leave it up to auto if you want something crisp. I plan to record video as well as take photos.
Anyone willing to offer any advice?
I have a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS if that is relevant.
Yes. Copy what you wrote, go to reddit, post it there and kill yourself.
Any second opinions?
Haven't been here in years, is it still all gear and no pictures?

Yes, and the posting rate is abysmally slow these days as well. You're coming back at the end of /p/.
It's interesting to see how these long term internet communities end. Some die off from disinterest, others end with a bang. /p/ is ending with a strained whimper.
>>3135518
yes. also why don't people create their own thread?! no, we gotta have the stupid /rpt/, a stupid landscape thread, a stupid panorama thread, etc
>>3135569
There has been a Sugar thread running for the last literally almost year and a half straight.
Hi /p/,
I'm looking to buy a used entry level camera to shoot high quality reference pictures for paintings. I've found two that I think I'm having trouble deciding between
Canon T3i w/ Kit Lens for 350 CAD
Nikon D3200 w/ Kit Lens for 250 CAD
I'm hesitant to go for the Nikon mostly just because of how much love the T3i gets online, seems to be a real beater and many people still swear by it. Also looking at a few comparisons images it seems that the Canon performs better at higher ISO overall? Also has the flip-out screen which may be quite useful.
Pls halp!
>>3135516
I had a d3300 and I swear by it today as an amazing entry level. I don't know if the d3200 lacks anything in comparison, but I know it's build is better than the t3i
>>3135517
Looks like it shoots 60fps @ 1080, just slightly lighter and has a higher ISO range, but I would hopefully not be pushing past ~1600 ISO in most of my shooting conditions.
I also notice that the D3200 kit lens has vibration reduction which might be pretty handy until I can get an upgraded lens.
First time poster
What's the best way to go about taking a jpeg file and getting it made into a large print poster for your wall?
Would I take the file to some sort of printers or is it better to do it online?
The best options for retaining image quality (not sure if this means pixels or colour?)
I've never had any decor in my room, I'm moving now and I want to personalise my room with some stuff and I thought this would be a cool idea instead of buying posters that everyone has, I use my own or images from the internet
Thank you
>>3135475
What size do you want and what resolution are the pictures?
>>3135478
some are 1920x1080, here's one that isn't for example - if I got this done what would my options be? say I wanted it like "Half Sheet" (22 inches by 28) or so, not sure how that translates in pixels or cm
very confused
>>3135478
or just find the biggest jpgs I can first I guess now that I think about it

I'm trying to build up a good scanning rig. So far I've got 35mm sorted using a durst negative carrier, but I'm struggling to find a good glassless carrier for 6x7/6x6 format. Is there any particular model anyone recommends? I bought a Durst Sivoneg expecting it to work but sadly it's not compatible with this purpose as I was expecting. Would be grateful for any tips.

dslr?
I'm working my way through some rolls of film from earlier this year. Let me know what you think. These are all 6x6 Acros 100.

What do you guys think about eclipse photography? Im thinking about just driving to the coast where everyone is crowding and documenting the people and the traffic.

Hey /p/ I need some advice. I do amateur landscapes and have just been running off of a Canon 1200d for a couple years, but now I want to jump to full frame and a better resolution - suggestions? I was thinking Canon 6d second hand but I'm not sure.

Sony A7 II would be what I'd get. Maybe Nikon D750, D810 or a Pentax K-1.
Get a high-end wide angle (20mm or wider) and normal lens (~50mm) to match.
>>3135045
sony a7r1 or 2 or bentax k-1.

I use a 6D. It's more camera than I know how to use at the moment and I'm happy with the results. I'm certainly happy with the value in getting out of it.
Nice photo by the way

just deal with your social anxiety first and get yourself some friends
>>3134961
If you shill it nonchalantly enough girls on tinder are usually open to posing as models for free. The hardest part is reeling in the actual attractive ones.
>>3134961
Start off simple and work your way up. Try and find a location with natural lighting/available lighting that suits the shot you're going for. Meticulously think about everything going on in the frame, the positioning of items, people, poses, etc. Maybe start off in a house or single room. Remember, with a studio space you'll need to furnish it which is a lot of work. Try finding locations that already exist and work around it.2

I was at a doughnut derby a little while ago and took some pictures in the 'feeding zone' since I thought that'd be the most amusing photos.
What I'm wondering on how to deal with is how all the shadows are. Is this a use for one of the special modes on the digicam?
Should I be trying more to get the image while the rider is in one of the light rays?
