How do I achieve this soft but clear look? Also it looks like it's all natural light, but looks almost cinematic to me, Alan Wake like. How is this done?

Didn't see a thread, how do you guys host your photography sites? Do you go through something like squarespace, wordpress or wix, or do you code your own site? Currently I use weebly, but I'm not happy with it and want to upgrade to something better. pic unrelated

Hello there, /p/!

I was thinking in buy my mother a new lens for her Nikon D800 (FX), but I'm not really god with these kind of things, so I ask for your help. Wich one would be a good accesory for her camera.

She already have a 50 fixed and one that is not FX 18-135.

I know that lens are expensive, but I can afford to a limit of ~$700

Am I being overly cynical towards my many photographer acquaintances whose long-term goal is to continue taking engagement/wedding photos of couples with 34mm 1.4 lenses at fully opened apertures?

IDK I just like bold and experimental expression in photography. I know it's not as lucrative as cliché and narcissistic photos of privileged millennials falling in love, but it's still a key part of photography--a part that I feel like so many "photographers" are missing out on.
