I'm homeless starting tomorrow what do I do? I'm freaking out
>>
Go to an homeless shelter, find a job, stay away from drugs, stop watching porn. Don't blow it, keep it simple, count your money.
>>
>>1095224
>move to a new place
Get out of the city
Move to a small town
They need workers
Housing is cheaper
>look sharp
Use your spare change to do laundry
Shave your head and face
Shower at rest stops
>get a job
Take the bus
Save your money
>buy an apartment
The end
>>
>>1095230
Never EVER live at a shelter OP
Any random bush in town is better to sleep in than a fucking shelter
>>
>>1095224
Ask your friends or family for help.
>>
>>1095285

yep, i bet you anon if you go in an homeless shelter you will never comeback.

>>
>>1095423

>>
>>1095224
Man has been living outside for thousands of years, you'll be fine.
>>
>>1095224

Not worth your time.

This, srs. Lots of rich people buy multiple houses they never visit. Just get in one and stay inconspicuous
>>
Buy kneepads
>>
>>1095224
If you have friends, call one and ask to sleep on their couch.
If you have a job, rent out an AirBNB for a few days until you can get your shit together.
Your goal is to have enough money to rent an apartment.
>>
Being homeless isn't that bad as long as you have a job. Rent a cheap place when you have enough. Or, and this is what I managed, give proof of having a job to a landlord and try to get an extension on first month's rent.
>>
>>1095956
If you wanna live cheap, West is best
>>
>>1095956
how did you manage to roam the country? Did you have money saved for gas or did you beg for change?
>>
>>1096256
I budgeted myself to about $300/month. This included bills that I dont have anymore and food, gas, insurance. I probably could get by for about $200/month now. Id just get a job wherever I wanted to go. I recommend temp jobs in warehousing. Most warehouses operate on a 4day/10hour work schedule. That gives you three days to do whatever you want. A $10/hr job for one week covered my budget for the month. If it was a good job and there was interesting things around I would stick around for a few weeks. Its really fucking great feeling to be able to work one month and be able to cover yourself financially for half a year.

You just have to remember one thing in this life. Its not how much you make, its how much you spend. Every dollar you spend is a dollar you have to work for and we arent suppose to work our entire lives. Only fools do that.
>>
>>1096275
ayy I currently work a $10/hr job, but i'm currently in college.
So what do you do now a days? Do you still roam the country? If you were able to do so much just from one job I'm curious as to what I can do now.. Depending on how much time I put into said job.

>an homeless shelter, find a job
Because most shelters have specific check-in / check-out times, it's pretty much impossible to find a job that'll hire someone, since homeless people don't get 9to5s, they get swings and night shifts, if they find anything at all.

>>1095242
>Use your spare change to do laundry
$3/load
>Shower at rest stops
$10/shower.
>Save your money
Lol. That's about $400/month.

$10/month for planet fitness membership, clothes can be washed by hand (dish soap works fine) and dried on a line for free.

>>1096202
>Your goal is to have enough money to rent an apartment.
Everyone's goal is different. Mine was to keep my cost of living low enough that I didn't have to work. Going on three years without a job, happiest I've ever been.

>>1096275
>we arent suppose to work our entire lives. Only fools do that.
I wish I'd known that when I was younger. I was thirty before I figured out I could just retire, so long as I do enough fishing and camping to not need to buy food or pay a mortgage. Fish hooks and new shoes, my bills amount to about $60/month.

What are you, an Immigrant Grandmother 25 years ago?

Unless you wash using a good soap (can be a bar or powder), then rinse with a softener, your clothes will not look or smell good.

Dish soap is a joke.
A good French style soap bar should be able to clean oil based paint out of a pig hair brush.

When hand washing, you literally have to boil cotton whites on a stove top to keep them white.

Line drying is great during the warm months.
But in the colder months it takes all day even with a proper wringer.

Too much work.
Remember you only have one or two sets of clothing.
>>
>>1096408
What, do you work for Kenmore or something?

Soap is soap, it does one thing: emulsify grease.

>Remember you only have one or two sets of clothing.
I do only have two sets of clothing. Remember, not everyone talks out of their ass, some of us share real-life experience.

My mom had her hours cut where she works and she was living off credit cards and for a person like me that lives as minimally as possible, that was unacceptable. I told her to move to the south and Id help her out. So right now Im living a dull apartment life and it looks like I will be doing it for a couple of years. Been debating whether to go back to go back to living in my car when she gets back on her feet or just buy a small house somewhere. A friend of mine just bought a decent house in the Missouri countryside for $15k and my jelly is off the fucking scale.

>>1096361
>I wish I'd known that when I was younger.
I was 32 when I figured it out. I was busting my ass 6 days a week like a fucking slave and my boss one day at a meeting said the company was going to a 7 day work week. Figured that there had to be more to life than just being a replaceable cog in a faceless corporate machine ad as it turned out, there was.
>>
>>1096729
I don't think I'll ever understand how someone could work their entire life, just to pay for the things that they need in order to keep working. At some point, don't most people realize that if they didn't have a job, they wouldn't need to have a house in the city or a car to commute, or fancy clothes, shoes and jewelry that they only ever wear to work?
>>
>>1096772
A house is the one really I dont understand. People pay out the ass for 30 years on a house. There are people working multiple jobs to pay for their homes. They spend more time working to pay for the house than they do at home enjoying what they work so hard for. Its fucking nonsense and I dont understand why people think its a good idea.

Not to mention the stupid amount of interest attached to a mortgage. The fucking Mafia offered better terms.

oh okay, I guess you should wash yourself with oven degreaser, then. You have a common logic of a 1800s settler. You wanna know why transients smell like shit even though they claim to wash themselves? They use alternative shit like wiping themselves with rags soaked with hydrogen peroxide or some dumbass shit that they think sound genius. Soap not only just degreases you, it's also a disinfectant, a perfume, and a moisturizer.
>>
>>1095806
lmfao you dingus, what country you in? turns out I might be homeless soon too

You started off with promise kid but ended up sounding retarded. There definitely are different types of soap and while some soaps may contain disinfectants they are not a disinfectant
