Are there any studies published that have specifically shown a positive connection between level of outdoor activity and mental health? Asking for a friend.

If you're a lardass, losing a little weight with the excercise that comes with gettin /out/ will def help with depression. I'm sure there are millions of studies on that.
Also all of you cunts that have been potheads for years and claim you need it for your anxiety- just quit smoking for 3 months and you will be amazed how much anxiety it causes.

I eat burgers everyday
How does that even cause depression, and no I'm not a lardass, just skinnyfat
>>1090660
Diet makes a big difference. I eat like shit, but when I attempt to eat a little better (pasta at night, granola bar in the AM and some peanuts at lunch) I feel way better than when I eat $15 worth of McD's at midnight.
>>1090673
>when I eat $15 worth of McD's at midnight.
...how big a boy are ya?
>>1090675
Kek not as big as I used to be. I have eatin fast food once in the past 6mos and I'm craving a Wendy's classic double so bad. I used to be able to do 3x McDoubles and a large fry (with a diet coke of course!) but now I can barely get down 2 and a Med fry.
My problem is I don't eat anything all day, then I get off work and eat a bunch of junk food and pass out. Wake up feeling like shit in the morning. Lately I have been tryin to eat a banana or pack of nuts for lunch and not eat much within a few hours of going to bed and it feels so much better.

Yes.
I can't remember the name of it but they have been discovering that when you breathe heavily and get your blood flowing it saturates your brain with oxygen which helps to clear out various alkaloids and helps to reset your seratonin balances etc.

>HURRRRRR WEEEEEEED
Retard.
I am only depressed when i have to spend long periods of time in a house.
I would not be surprised if houses are actually the leading cause of depression.
Think about it, i bet everyone you have ever known with depression lives in a house.

The first few trips I took solo innawoods were not relaxing for me at all. I was constantly worrying if everything was the way it was supposed to be and if I had enough wood for the fire. Then I would start thinking about something else then it would just loop back around in a never ending loop of suddle worry. I guess it's better than being an ignorant retard and just assuming everything is excellent at all times though.

Not that anon but back when I was in highschool I smoked every day for 3+ years then took almost an entire year off because I was living somewhere where it wasn't readily available and I didn't really care that much. I genuinely didn't feel a single bit different at the begginning or the end of that period. Maybe that just me idk.

Things change drastically when you get older.

Weed affects people differently, but it does cause some shiftyness in REM stages of sleep which then makes the sleep less deep in everybody
>>1090919
I quit using for a year (smoked every night before bed). The literal only difference for me was that I was less groggy in the morning and had a harder time with theoretical mathematics sober funny enough. This isn't true for everyone (or even close) but my grades went up 15% when i started smoking
Have you heard of vitamin d?
Good diet and exercise are the best and cheapest ways to manage/eliminate depression.
T. Former depressed sad sack who took to two Zoloft and a bong rip just to get out the door.
>The housing problem is the greatest social problem. It is not possible in the long run for a person who has to live in a horrible, cold, dark hole of a big city apartment to have any sense of the political needs of his people, of the beauty of nature or of the valuable and even inexpensive ways in which he could improve his lot in life. We must provide for this desire by building, to the largest possible extent, housing developments consisting of private dwellings.

I haven't smoked in 10 months and my life has been pretty shit lately. Would definitely prefer getting baked every night but the state will put me in jail.
>>1090865
I currently still smoke and can actually support this. I used to go through phases over breaks and the summer where I'd smoke five out of six days a week. Felt very lethargic, woke up later in the day because I smoked at night (11AM), and dealt with lots of depression/anxiety. Cut it down to once or twice and logged my intake of cannabis. Felt much better.
Although it is technically isn't a habit forming drug and doesn't do much harm it is still a drug that can be abused. To each their own though.

Its in combination with other factors. If you exercise regularly, don't get drunk every weekend, dont spend hours in front of screens and fake light and have a regular sleeping cycle you are not as likely to suffer as severe a depression if you did.
>>1093328
time to grow up, jim-bob
As it happens, there of plenty of studies that show the mental benefits of being in a woods (Dec cortisol, Dec anxiety, etc). In fact, many addictions programs have an outdoors portion for this same reason. It's not a meme. Also, camping for a few days will naturalize your sleep schedule
>>1093650
>Also, camping for a few days will naturalize your sleep schedule
Proof?
>>1095708
You'll naturally attune to the cycle of the sun because you're directly affected by it. In your basement you can adjust the heat and light to make it feel like any time of day you want, you can't naturally do that while innawoods. So after 3 days of going to bed and waking up with the cycle of the sun you will have a much more balanced sleeping cycle that you could (hopefully) translate to your every day habits.
>>1095708
why would everyone who has ever slept outside for extended periods lie to you anon

no you've explained the underlying causes behind your evangelical hatred for cannabis one can clearly deduce you were indeed a lardass smoker and now nothing more than a fascist hypocrite who has conclusions formed with his own personal confirmation bias.
