Thoughts on switchblades?

They're generally weaker actions than a regular linerlock/framelock/memelock and you're eventually going to wear the spring out.
They're also at best no faster than an assisted and at worst, slower.
>calling that a switchblade
AAAAAAA
>>1088202
>blade opens via spring action through the press of a button
Yup, that's a switchblade
>>1088203
Legal definition != industry-accepted usage. That's an auto knife, not a switchblade. Switchblades are ALWAYS out-the-front.
Stupid politicians cannot make that distinction though.
>The law banned others from purchasing knives with mechanical means of being opened.
oops, I've had open assist knives for years
now they need to allow fixed blades at least to 4"
Good old 80s.
What do you guys reckon about assisted-openers? I can't remember if they're legal to import here. There was a ban but it might have been lifted.
I hear army guys were annoyed because they like to use assisted-openers for rappelling.
>>1088197
Da fuck you need a knife for?
>>1089862
Nice
>>1090049
stabbing people who ask dumb questions
>>1091860
Get a mora, instead of using a inferior tool. For fucks sake.
>>1088197
>having a ban on any kind of knifes/swords
is that what you call "freedom"?
>>1088205
>2017
>being this retarded
>>1091862
aaaww look, bait
/out/, I've inherited my father's old switchblade, but it's got rusty spots, the blade is dull, and it's stuck open. How can I make it functional again?
>>1088201
What do you mean by memelock? Anything that isn't a liner or frame is a joke?
>>1092716
I'm gonna guess benchmeme/axis lock is what he's referring to.
>>1088197
full auto not worth a price. a well worn in flipper with bearings or a assisted blade is just as fast. get a kershaw blur for 60 bucks and its all the knife you'll ever need, at least for awhile.
>>1091879
Hes right though. Politicians are shit about giving terms to things they know nothing about.
>>1095010
ok what the fuck is going on here.
I posted this 3 days ago, not 2 hours ago. Why is this thread bumping itself?
>>1091879
I'll bet you think an AR-15 is an "assault" rifle too, don't you, faggot.
>>1092714
Yes.
>>1095302
I get what you mean in the whole it not being an m4 and fully automatic but correct me if im wrong but doesnt the AR stand for assault rifle?
Can /out/ recommend and solid fixed blades?
>>1095539
It stands for Armalite rifle who developed it in the 50's
>>1095541
Mora
>>1094391
It's proven that memelocks are stronger than liner locks
>>1095421
>how can I
>yes
>>1095543
It actually just stands for Armalite.
>the AR17 is a shotgun
>>1088205
>switchblades always otf
you win the dumb fuck of the thread award
everyone who agreed with you just gets a ribbon
you guys are fucking stupid
>>1091864
Here in Canada we can OC knoifes and surds but switch blades are illegal for some reason
>>1092714
WD-40 to lubricate it and use a knoife sharpener for the rest
>>1089862
Ow. My feels.
>>1088197
Get yourself a fixed blade faggot or just a victoranox swiss army knife they are more useful
