Does /out/ use nature drugs?

I've done plenty of mushrooms throughout my years and I don't really enjoy them at all. I've done LSA quite a few times as well, and though it's interesting the purge makes it not quite worth it, and not really functional for being /out/. Mescaline was alright but I only did it once, I don't know much about it. DMT is great, but gets old pretty quick and isn't fun for actually doing stuff. DMT and LSA require extraction though.

LSD will always be my preferred /out/ drug, and it's pretty fucking synthetic. It's just so clean and side-effect free, as long as you're safe with it and use it in moderation. It compliments being in the woods or the desert or wherever so fucking well, it's great. I've done enough of it, though. There's only one or two places I'd go to where I might do it again, otherwise I've seen and felt everything I need to see and feel. You just get tired of tripping after awhile, talking to people in their mid-twenties to thirties I heard that a lot growing up, and now that I'm there I feel the same way.

Fuck pscilocybin though. Dirty nasty. Easy to lose control and do stupid shit, whereas even on large amounts of LSD where I've lost a grip on myself I can at least stay alive and not arrested.

That's my jam. Golden teachers, or amanita muscaria. Very different experience. Muscaria is at most a once a year kinda thing. The more common types like atlantis or cubensis can be done weekly and are always a good time.

Just don't eat what you find out there unless you're damned sure it is what you think it is, or you could die.

Did shrooms a few times. I went into it a little apprehensive due to warnings about doing them alone from erowid.com. I had recently been introduced to legal herb by a relative and during one session got really frightened. At the time it could be bought at a smoke shop and so my reasoning was that mushrooms an illegal substance could potentially induce a much more frightening state.
In retrospect I probably did not get the full effect as I did not consume them on a completely empty stomach. I really did not have any kind of visual or auditory hallucinations. Anything of that nature that I did feel was so mild as to be thought of as simply my imagination. I was determined to have a Terence Mckenna like reverence for the fungus so I wouldn't allow myself feel let down by the experience. One of the last nights consumed the stuff I went for broke an ate like, I dunno maybe like 8 mushrooms fresh. Gawd, they were disgusting but I really wanted to have like a transcendental experience. Overall I just felt "off" just... "weird". I really can't quite explain it. But I do remember that listening to music was fucking awesome.
A few months later someone posted an ad on Craigslist offering acid for 10 bucks a hit. Yea, man I took the bait an met a chick at a very dubious location. She kept texting me to come into this graffiti strewn building to get the shit.
I said "Fuck that shit." and began backing out my car when this pudgy chick out of nowhere said "Hey!" So I bought about 4 hits and left very excited.
So anyway acid blew shrooms out the water. It was fucking great. I had bona fide visual hallucinations which blew my mind at the time, again listening to dubstep was just amazing. It should be noted that I only dared to do one hit but this one time during the peak I smoked some weed and then left the stratosphere!
Gud times...
Never could get my hands on DMT or mescaline but I'd luv to try em.

Tourfat here. I finished my ~9000 bicycle tour across the United States three weeks ago, but I didn't have the time to post until now. All in all it was 9 months of travel and 3 months of slumming at different houses across the US.

I was just south of big sur. A guy i met on the bus out there said he would show me a cool spot. I didnt like it and wanted to sleep on the beach. I figured the beach was just over the ridge so i keep hiking. The trail keeps switching back and the sun is getting low so i cut through an opening that appears to lead to the ridge. I end up in someones back yard. Oops. I keep going...another persons back yard, then another, then another, and another. The sun is now setting and i'm not walking at night. I find myself in an open area between somebody's property and a group of rv campers on a private road. Im trying to keep a low profile. It's not ideal, but it will have to do. As it starts to get dark a deer/antelope(idk the species, it pranced) appeared and i had a stare down with it for 30 minutes. I had been crouched and it started to come over to me so i popped up and it pranced away. It's now getting dark so i roll up in my tarp and drift into a state of half sleep. Some hours pass and for some reason im suddenly awake. I'm listening to the sounds of the night. It's really quiet, but i hear something up at the top of the ridge, slowly coming down. A few steps then silence. A few steps then silence. This happens over a course of five minutes. Whatever it is, is trying to be stealthy. A stick breaks. At this point i start my blood starts pumping. I am wrapped up completely in my tarp and cant see anything anyways because its a full moon. I just wait. It keeps creeping closer and closer. I hear it over in this thicket of redwoods maybe 25 feet away and i decide it's now or never. I pop up suddenly with my tarp held high in my left hand and grab my bike tire which is right next to me and say slowly " i hear you". It is pitch black in the thicket and whatever it is has not moved a muscle. It is sitting there, staring at me. I take an aggressive posture and bang the bike tire on the ground, acting as if i am going to charge it. It stays silent and doesnt move at all.
>>
>>607306
Contd.

I keep banging the tire and throw some sticks over towards it, it stays motionless and silent. I slowly back down the slope to the private road near the rv campers and spend the next two hours with my back to a tree. Whatever it was didnt follow me. It was big enough to crack a stick and it didnt run when i popped up. I am almost positive it was a mountain lion. Either that or a human, but i really dont think a human would have tried to sneak up on me like that because i was practically invisible from where it came down from. I have been paranoid of mountain lions ever since

Help me /out/. I'm baffled by paracord. Why do people buy this nonsense?

>>
My buddy Dave suggests bank line.

I agree.
>>
>>606025
Paracord is literally a meme cordage. Why anyone would pay that much money for cordage that they are going to dispose of boggles my mind.

Not to mention that it is heavy and it takes up a TON of volume.

I usually carry a small length of thin bank line for when I really need strength, but aside from that, I just use a natural fiber twine as it is cheap, lightweight, and is low volume. The stuff is practically free.

But yeah get paracord if you like to make cute bracelets and jewelry to impress your friends at your next comic book convention.

I do the same as you, especially while backpacking. I bring a moka pot and grinder in the car, but that doesn't come on the trail with me. I know that jet boil makes a french press attachment
>>
Instant coffee in a small plastic container + container of dried milk if I feel luxurious (I usually do this if I want fancy oats, otherwise I'd buy those little coffee sachets).

I guess if you're taking a car, you could take a french press and some filter coffee.

state parks, my own woods (which is a small part of a much larger forest). about once a year we travel somewhere far away to camp, like in the mountains or suttin. i don't bring weapons, but sometimes i pack bears prey when relevant.
>>
>>608194
I live near two National Forests. Much better than National Parks. In NP you have to buy permits and can only camp at designated camping spots. In National Forests it is dispersed camping. You dont need permits (at least at the two near me). The only rule I am aware of is you are not allowed to camp for more than 14 consecutive days in the same spot. After 14 days you have to move at least 1 mile then you can camp again.

Guns use to be a no no in all National Parks, believe it or not the Obama administration made it legal. (You still have to obey all state gun laws and restrictions yada yada yada.......)
