I would like to enjoy the outdoors but I have autism. Do you think this will impede my ability to have fun outdoors? Are there outdoor groups for people with much autism?

>Are there outdoor groups for people with much autism?
Either /out/ or /k/ would work.
>>634288
I don't know if there are groups (other than /out/, that is), but it certainly shouldn't impede things.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that a few studies suggested time spent out was actually beneficial for people with things like autism and ADD.
So go for it.
>>634288
>groups
I have a dose of the 'tism and relish the chance to be alone and mutter retarded shit to myself with no fear of judgment or observation.
I want to Solo Mt. Kilimanjaro. Advice me please. Death is not a concern

Tl;dr, my parents are kicking me out of the house, how do I survive being homeless for a year.
What's up /out/, I need your advice. My parents are kicking me out of the house soon because I'm apathetic towards their will and taking my phone and other luxuries has not "straightened me out" in any way. To be honest, I don't know why they're doing this, the only thing I don't pay for is the roof over my head and the food on my plate, mostly, but they're fed up with me for some reason and they want me out. So my advice from you is how I will manage being homeless for a year.
I currently go to college, which is only two miles from my house. The college is special in that it is a small trade school that I go to and my instructor is so passionate about producing an efficient workforce that he guarantees interviews for jobs for us when we complete our course because surrounding companies realize that the school produces efficient tradesmen, therefore, all things considered, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a job.
How should I survive on my year on the streets?
I don't have a job currently, but I do get paid $8 a day just to go to school, most of which goes towards books and supplies, but I usually have some left over for smokes and other small necessities. The school I go to also has a shower, so that's a plus.
What should I pack in my bag to carry around and will help me at all times? How do I survive while homeless? I think I could manage with what I have, and I'll have nothing but time it seems to study. Other study materials are at school so everything is pretty convenient were I to be kicked out.
I'm pretty intimidated /out/, maybe I'm not worth your time but if you could just humor me before I have to leave tomorrow it would help a lot.

You don't have a mate that'll put you up until you find work?
Not sure if this thread is bait.

Anyone here use a quilt from Enlightened Equipment? I've been wanting to make the switch to down for a while now and I think a quilt would be a better choice for me. EE has a holiday sale going on now and I'm really interested in the Revelation quilt.
Using in a tent or in a hammock?
For hammocks, their stuff is really highly recommended on the hammock forum I frequent. I plan on buying an underquilt from them.
>>635260
Tent camping. I would probably go for a 20 degree rating. I can't stand mummy bags so this seems ideal for me.
>>635236
Poorfag here, I was thinking about getting this.
Is it a good option or should I kill myself for even considering it?http://www.google.com/shopping/product/1?lsf=seller:8638497,store:8477584637234871570&prds=pid:11079026953212743055,oid:11079026953212743055&q=coleman+mountain+sleeping+bags&hl=en&ei=9XZTVtWSFIPloASxopagCg
What is a good price to pay for liquid iodine?
what is a good brand to order from?
thanks in advance
>>634306
Bleach is cheaper, and it's already in your tap water. Buy off-brand without scents.
>>634306
Don't buy liquid, buy polar pure. Put water in it as soon as you get it though cause the iodine crystals will sublimate.
20 dollarydoos on amazon.
You can get Nascent Iodine on Amazon. I have it.
Hey /out/, I was wondering what your guys opinions were on people like the grizzly man who think they have some kind of greater connection to nature https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9lCkFygaaQ (The grizzly man and his wife getting mauled) pic not related
In general I think they're mentally ill.
>>634139
I wouldn't say mentally ill, just hippies with way too much time on their hands. I suppose once they reach grizzly man's situation they've become disillusioned.
>>634153
>Hey there sweetie
*Bear comes closer*
>HEY HEY WOAH
me at el capitan
>>633478
Looks about like my old setup. I sold it because of financial troubles. Probably go with a tent this time so my puppers can keep me warm.
What shelters do you guys recommend for winter camping? This winter I wanted to try building a fortified A frame and then insulating it with a foot of snow. Any experiences/recommendations? Will be testing anything in back yard before I bring it /out/.
We have a joke in Estonia for outdoors:
K: What is the best place in forest to camp?
V: Not between mother bear and cub!
Hahaha
I didn't think Estonians had jokes. Or is that the only one?

Must be funnier in russian.
Has anyone been using one of these new european sonar bobbers?
I was thinking of getting one for ice fishing this winter.
Also ice fishing thread.
No one has it yet?
It maps the lake floor for you if you cast and retrieve it a few times. This is shown on your cell phone with an app.
Shows you where the fish are and the depth.
It even texts you when you are getting a bite.

Any one here work at a national park? I'm looking into this as a long term thing. So could you give me suggestions as to where is the best place in the USA to work year long and provides room and board? Also, any tips or information you feel necessary.
>>634678
do you have to go to college for a job in a nation park? or can anyone do it? because I too am very interested in it but not really wanting to spend 4 years in school for it.
>>634679
No anyone can do it, you don't even have to be a citizen.
>>634679
Depends on the job. You don't need a college degree to clean campground showers.
Mycology General? I've seen a few separate threads about mushrooms, this board is slow as hell so I might as well just make a general every few weeks
Will start off with posting a few finds
>Ganoderma Applanatum
>Inedible, sort of hard and grows on decaying wood
>Can be used as an art medium (Scratching or scraping the white area of the fungus scrapes off the pores to a more dark brown colour
>Trametes versicolor or 'Turkey tail'
>edible, but unpalatable
>Eaten by some maggots and caterpillars
>Calvatia Gigantea
>Edible, tastes sort of like a mushroomy tofu, would probably be good fried
I think these are ringless honeycaps
Found in East Texas
