Failing industry, sub contractor jobs mostly now but you get to mingle with affirmative action work force.

Columbia, patagonia, TNF, Polerstuff, Fjallraven, some REI stuff. Pretty much everyone who makes outdoor stuff will have some good looking stuff too.

Go to stores like Cabela's, Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, REI, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc you can get either 3rd party or the house brand. If you don't want to spend a lot of money check out the clearance sections and BUY OUT OF SEASON. I can't stress buying out of season enough, when a store stocks seasonal displays they WILL mark it down. You can expect to buy stuff 30-75% off if you don't buy it before or at the start of a season.

They are a wholesale knife. I don't know who actually makes them, don't think they are from Master Cutlery. Knives like these are typically junk or gems. Up to you if you want to gamble.

Right now I'm using a belt from tactical tailor. Got some sturdy nylon, some velcro, nice buckle. Good and stiff.

I carry usually a glock 19, with a AIWB kydex holster. Got a spare mag and a Leatherman wave on my belt too.

Every thing else usually goes into my pockets.

My friend has used a lot of the black hawk belts, he loves them. He kinda like batman with his belt. Keys, phone, pistol, small fixed blade, etc, etc.

/k/ would be a good place for this conversation. We are always having gear threads, a lot of belts are always talked about.

Used to carry a leather belt, the buckle got in the way and the thing was a bit heavy.

I now use a nylon belt very similar to in the picture. So far I love it, only a few bucks on ebay but it's very sturdy.

Only downside to nylon is I cannot use it to strop my knife.

I like them aesthetically and the history behind them.

I strongly dislike the balance.

Throughout my knife experience I can't help but think of kukris as a cultural thing more than anything. They're no better or worse than any other big knife, again it's just a cultural thing.

I personally prefer my Busse B11, or any big , straight chopper if I want a big knife.

I just cannot stand that terribad (most likely I'm just not used to) balance and find it less useful for everything than a straight blade.

Unpopular opinion but I prefer a sharp kukri over a hatchet any day. But either get an expensive one or invest in some good gloves. I have a SOG kukri. Sweet jesus the blisters

Buy a rain coat. By the time you get near the end you'll be able to use it as a tent/ tarp.

Would it be an idea to get some hiking poles? Dunno if they help support your weight and put less strain on your ankles.

You can't just show up at a town and say "hey shelter me".

You're going to need money to stay in a hotel, or money to rent a place over winter. You're not going to find free shelter, or even cheap shelter. You're going to need a definite plan for winter.

What exactly are you planning for winter?

When I hike in the winter I usually just use thermals and shorts because I don't mind my legs being cold. As long as you've got warm, dry footwear and keep your core warm you will be fine during your trek. At 0C I honestly think you could walk around bare-assed with boots, hat and jacket. When you aren't active, you might want something with more insulation though.

So if it was me, I'd say those are fine for a day trip, but anything overnight and I'd want at least some polarfleece pants and shell as well.

Your "mental conditions" and victim complex are 100% self inflicted. There are plenty of other entry level jobs you qualify for that you could take and would provide steady income for someone your age. You are not lost. Your are disillusioned by media and social media and whatever other outside sources you are letting effect you. You expect you should have all these great things by now but dont. And as a result you have alienated yourself and become reclusive. This is not the answer. Develop a plan and move forward.

You know what you need to do to improve your mental/physical/financial state. It is what runs through our minds every day. If I just did "x" every day or took "x" class or pursued "x" job I would be on my way to real improvement. The difference between average people and successful people is that they actually do "x" while the average Joe is content dreaming about what it might be like if he did "x".

It will be hard at first. You will want to give up every minute. But then something amazing starts to happen. You realize it's helping you and making you happy. You start taking pride in what you do and it gives you a sense of purpose. Whether it's accounting or making wooden spoons, working on cars to hanging line for the cable companies. Then you start getting good at it and developing it as a skill, interest and profession. Along with this comes better compensation.
