Hey /out/ how come black people don't camp?

Why not an original thread topic like shitting in rivers, about to be homeless, knives, axes, hatchets or a fucking hammock thread?

>>691643
I'm not sure I understand why you're being so sassy anon, are you black? Do you go camping often?
>>691646
Yes. Shove your meme.
I've spent the past several months researching boots in preparation for several weekend backpacking trips I have planned for this Spring. I finally decided on a pair of Vasque St. Elias and the damn things didn't last 10min until one of the metal eyelets came loose. So /out/, has anyone else experienced this with Vasque and what is a similar boot in the sub $200 range that I should try next?
I don't know if another boot is what I would recommend, perhaps it would be possible to simply use a rivet gun and fix it. It would be cheaper than getting another pair of boots.
>>690002
Have you contacted the seller? I bought a pair on Amazon. I liked the fit but I didn't particularly love the style/look. Sent them back and got a pair of Vasque Erikkson GTX. I don't think they are being made any longer but they are still available on Amazon. Same price as the St. Elias.
As for quality. The reviews I've read all seemed to indicate that quality has improved over the past few years.
>>690002
Basque are crap. Get a heavy duty trail runner. Whatever fits you best unless you need boots which you don't

I'm homeless, and down on my luck in a shitty city in a shitty state. So, I've decided to to LA or San Diego by train. I have a backpack, some clothes, about $400 after my train ticket, and a phone to my name. What are some good tips to help me survive and start over in the new city?

That filename amuses me. I don't get to start many fires when I'm /out/ with my wife, she likes to do it and is good at it.
Hello, /out/.
So, I was planning about doing some recreational activities with my GF's son, I mean, a more healthy and natural stuff.
What do you guys suggest for good outdoor activities with children?
Is fishing a good one?
>>688523
>doing some recreational activities with my bulls son
My nephew turns 7 next week, I bought him a firesteel, and I'm going to help him learn to build a fire. Once he succeeds he gets his second present, a Swiss army knife.
Think he's too young for fire starting? I feel sorry for the little dude since his parents are fat indoorsy types.
>>688523
Why do you have a girlfriend with kids anon... you should take them kayaking. and "accidentally" flip the kids kayak and drown them. and then procreate and make your own genetic semen demons.
>>688660
I don't remember when I started playing with fire.. but I was young. nobody taught me, I was just good at it, and didn't set shit on fire that wasn't suppose to be on fire.
wanted to try this out. Post your unpacked and packed gear. Backpack general seemed to be more about the pack than what does inside.
rate my pack

>>665724
There is the previous gear loadout thread.
This looks okay, OP. I feel obligated to say something about the fedora, but it look alight I guess.
I was just looking at that pack a few minutes ago which is weird. I'm not sure why you're using an alcohol stove when you'd be better off with a butane tank (small) and pocket stove.
I don't see much first aid stuff which is fine, i don't bother much with that either.
I think if you were to bring food and clothes for multiple days, you'd be in a bit of trouble for space, but maybe you're a short trip kinda guy.
Overall, cool looking pack but meh/10

alcohol over gas because i dont want to carry and dispose of cans. plus building the right one in itself provided a few good weekends.
pic related weighed only 24 lbs and theres more room in the top of the bag for food and extra clothes. definitely some options beyond the necessary

Warning: You will get junk mail from Marlboro if you do this. I think it's worth it though, because a few times a year they have freebie giveaways, and it's always some outdoorsy shit. It's also not available in MI, MA or VA.
You can get the lighter in one day with these exact steps.
1. Make an account on Marlboro.com
2. Once you've made an account, DON'T click on "Click To Enter" online.
3. Download the MHQ app. You have to download the app directly from their website, i don't think tobacco apps are allowed in the play store.
4. Now login with the app and "Click To Enter" through the app (+1000 credits)
5. Enter these two promo codes: (+1000 credits each)
>ONEOFAKIND
>AUTHENTIC
6. Sign up for email and text alerts (+1000 credits)
You should have 4000 credits (the Zippo is 3850 credits). If you make the mistake of clicking the "Click To Enter" button on the website, you'll miss the extra 500 credits you get from entering from the app. I didn't wanna sign up for the text alerts, so it took me 2 days to get the Zippo.
I'm gonna be able to grab the Red Rock Lensatic Compass or Victorinox Camper Knife, but it's too late to get any big prizes. It's fine though, because now that i know they do this multiple times a year, I'm definitely getting some nice camping gear in a few months.
>>690883
I should also mention that you can track your package with FedEx, so you know it's not some scam.
Is this US only, or do they do this in the UK as well?
>>690895
I think it's US only, sorry.
Hey guys. A few friends wanna take me out for a squirrel hunting trip, to a national park. Are there any laws or restrictions to hunting these animals?
Also, anything specific that we should use to kill, like bb guns, pellet rifles, slingshots, and etc.
(was killed by my house cat)
>>685828
You gonna end up getting arrested.
Just make sure you have fun!
Hunting in a national park...
I'm not American and even i know that's a bad idea.
Also, i hope your eating what you kill. I hate fuckers who kill for fun.

I still want to see what you guys got from LTB and MTB. Does anybody know if all the boxes are the same? Like all the Feb MTB Bass Boxes will be exactly the same? Or a random lot for everybody?
Also, anybody get anything good from Bass Pro this week with the Spring Fishing Classic? They had Shimano Saharas on sale for $40 online only and I thought about hopping on one for the hell of it.
Hey all,
I'm thinking of travelling with my friends (4 people) on a camping / boating expedition in northern italy.
My problem is I can't estimate how long it will take. More specifically, I don't know how fast a rowing boat (inflateable intex seahawk) can cover in a day. We will have 2 people per boat, possibly both rowing.
If we wanted to travel along Lake Garda which is 50 km in length, how long will that take? Can it be covered in a few hours?
Thanks
With 2 people rowing you can easily do 50k. In an afternoon
>>691819
Rowing sucks
Rowing an inflatable sucks donkey balls. They paddle like a bathtub.
Canoe or kayak,
>>691819
this piqued my curiosity so I figured it out.
you would be rowing at best 5km/hr
so 10 hours to travel the length of the lake.
That is probably very generous given there are 4 adults + equipment and it's an inflatable.
NOM NOM NOM!
