>What have you caught lately?
Nothing, I haven't hunted/fished in years. I farm now and raise my own (chicken).
>>699244
>What have you caught lately?

I don't think you've "caught" those...
Do You favour warm or cold meals?
Most unhealthiest outdoor food?

>Bonus: What was the most complex food you ever cokked while where in the woods?
for the most part i just eat shit like pic related. hot meals are good if i'm hunkering down in on place in the cold. generally i just eat unheated non-perishabes.
i don't really have answers to most of your kreshtuns
>>697901
>Do You favour warm or cold meals?

>Most unhealthiest outdoor food?
beer
>Is it Your favourite outdoors food?

>Did You ever tried MRE's?

>What was the oldest MRE you ever had?

>>697916

What's your favourite way of making a fire?
potassium permanganate & glycerin
If you get good at using firesticks its objectively the best method. Can be done anywhere, with infinite supply, at any time of the day.
Firebow is equally as good but requires more preperation.
If you suck at firesticks, a magnesium flint is good, but they dont last forever.
Magnifying glass is only good in the summer or africa.
Lighter and matches are shit tier.
A jerrycan of gasoline with my 9mm
Post recommendations, criticisms, questions - whatever. Let's have a friendly discussion about boots.

How was your first solo overnight, /out/? Doing mine in a couple days and I'm a bit anxious desu.
It was awesome, don't be anxious it will be great
>>696881
well last time; after i did everything i needed to it was kinda boring then i burned my hand adjusting a piece of wood that had ember on the underside which i didn't see. after that it was kinda miserable.
the pain of even a small second degree burn if you stop cooling it for a second is really fucking distracting.
>How was your first solo overnight
not to sound like a hard-ass. but i barely remember, was like 10 years ago now ..
all i remember is that is was good, its probably meant to me more as i get older then it did back then ,,
no disrespect if your only starting to get /out/ as an adult just enjoy it and keep going man

Hatchet or small axe?
tomahawk
Small axe. A small head on a long shaft gives a good balance between weight and functionality.
>>695436
Don't listen to this guy. Tomahawk is okay but they don't have the edge geometry for splitting and so make a poor replacement for an axe.
>>695435
hatchet is what they call small axes
I was thinking of extending pupper hiking range to include a night outside. Is there something I need to know before dog's first camping?
>>694556
nah just wing it
does you dog listen to commands? like instantly?
does he roam? where is he going to sleep, inside the tent with you? what about the zipper? under a tarp? how cold is it going to get?
and most of all. have fun
>>694556
How are you going to package and remove his poo from the forest?
Don't be the fucktard that spreads disease through his animal's shit
Can you help me with completing my first loadout? I am a total beginner to /out/ activities. My first trips are going to be two days (one night spent in the forest) for now, in summer, central Europe.
Pic related is what I have so far. I am not terribly tight on the budget but still I don't want to spend much since I believe army surplus stuff is high quality for good price.
I probably went full retard at some point, bear with me please.
OP here, there is actually a thread on this backpack here >>692716
Even though they don't say it's very good, I still might give it a shot since my trips won't be hardcore for starters and I don't need perfect quality.
sleeping bag
more food
maybe a stove for cooking, it depends on if it's legal to start fires during the summer in your area
clothes of course, that keep you warm and dry
some extra clothes in case you get wet
waterproof your items or have raincover for the backpack at least
sun cream and bug spray, but net
map and compass
a lighter or something else to ignite stuff with
>>694326
I totally forgot about the sleeping bag.
It's a 10-20 degrees C mummy type, I already have it. I am not sure about its size though, it seems pretty big.
Got any stories of being stalked by people or animals in the wild?
Curious!
A public footway i went on once passed through someones land. Their two dogs followed me for about 5 miles, barking but never coming too close.
i was followed home by a moose when i was like 10
I'd love to stalk someone without them noticing.
