Saved up 500k, going to go buy some land and live innawoods, where is the best place to do it? Criteria includes:
- Diversity of Fauna/Flora
- Weather (good amount of sun for farming)

Just the single best place you could think of

I've always been a big fan of Northern WI as long as you can deal with the winters. Otherwise there is some anon who is in love with SW Wisconsin, I guess there is actually some terrain.

Otherwise Tennessee or North Georgia would be cool. A bit warmer if that's what you're looking for. But if you want acreage for $500k, something further west like Nevada or Montana might be the way to go but you will compromise on other stuff.
>>
I personally love the mountains of western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

The problem is that so does everyone else, and $500k just doesn't buy that much land up there.

First of all don't buy a hammock. They are meme tier.

But second of all if it came out of the pack it can go back in. Try harder.

You roll them. Both of them. Roll as tight as u can, I then squeeze to form an oblong shape and put one in at a time.

The idea is to spend 3 weeks in Iceland. Book a ticket in late July and fly back around 19th August, just before university starts. I just want to hike the whole time and sleep in a tent and experience the wild life, apart from shoes, tent, sleeping bag and all the other small things I will need, is there anyone who has hiked around Iceland for a prolonged period of time, so I could gain some valuable insight into hiking and camping. Cheers

I have never been there, I have no idea. But I do strongly believe they have fish there it is an island.

I've fished successfully at the docks in the two largest towns. I think that to fish in rivers or lakes you need permits (which can be expensive) but its something you could do. I got a video of salmon jumping up into a waterfall here last summer.

Is there anything like a treasure hunting general? I've never seen one...
Well anyway, i would like to get started into treasure hunting, is there any tip or advice you could give me? I live in Ft. Lauderdale and i've heard that rich spaniards used to hide their fortune around here, but that's pretty much it.

Metal detect the beach. People lose shit like rings and whatnot all the time. If you like doing that and dont get bored of it, look into better gear and diving lessons.
>>

>Ft. Lauderdale
Let's go fishin!

But you won't find anything like that around here anymore. Better off just looking for a lost ring on the beach with a metal detector. Maybe if you went down to the Keys and got to some of the uninhabited islands, you could find a couple Cubans that washed up. But there isn't anything around here that hasn't been touched in the past year.

Thid general is for folks who like inland freshwater and brackish fishing. Post your poles, setups, favorite spots, fish and favorite gear- Bonus for tackle box pics and ratings.
This is my box, trying to get smallmouth bass in souther washington. Using an Akuma trout fire cheap real and a ugly stick 10 ft pole. Red 10 lb test Spyder line with red hooks and salmon eggs as bait.

Pic related is the best /out/ boot you will ever have and it is as basic as it gets.

10 inch
Triple/quadrouple stitched
Full leather
Last for a decade of daily heavy use
Waterproof entirely(if you lace them right water won't pour in through the top)
You could run a marathon with theee boots

You can't own a boot better than this. Fact.

What makes you think I would lie to you about the quality of something like this? These babies have gotten me through all of it and more. How else could I know their limits of waterproofness?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/07/01/german-tourist-falls-to-his-death-while-trying-to-take-photo-atop-machu-picchu

A German tourist has died while trying to take a photo atop Machu Picchu. The tourist, identified by the BBC and Peruvian media as 51-year-old Oliver Park, died Wednesday after slipping from a ledge and falling approximately 130 feet.

He was posing for a mid-leap photo when he fell off Machu Picchu mountain, which overlooks the ancient Incan citadel of the same name. Peruvian officials said the tourist bypassed a security cordon and ventured into an off-limits area before tumbling to his death, El Comercio reported.

Did he died?

So I went out today for a day trip to test my new hammoxk. It was my first completely solo innawoods day and while it was at times really satisfying I have to admit I was very scared a few times.

At first, every noise some bird made with twigs on the forest floor made me anxious. Then I heard some squirrels running around. Then a few very distant barks. I was in no way danger, yet I could almost never switch my mind from "flight or fight" mode.

Brehss... As an inexperienced newbie who is looking forward to spend a lot of time in the woods this summer, I'm asking if you maybe have advice for me on how to relax and not stress out on every little stupid noise? I can never imagine myself doing a solo overnighter this way.
