I live in Brazil. I want to hunt. I don't have a weapons license. I live in a flat land. The nearest forest is around 500Km from here.
What do
Get a bow and shoot stray animals

There are no animals around here, except my dog
Não tens licença vais tirar uma, qual é mesmo a parte que não percebes? Além disso procura pela alguma zona de caça mais perto, certamente que deves ter quem te dê essa info.
Hey anons
I love playing guitar
How can I play guitar when I'm out camping? Is it possible to purchase a tiny guitar that can be folded up and isn't susceptible to the perils of humidity and temperature fluctuation? I don't care if it sounds like shit, I just want some strings under my fingers on those comfy campfire nites
>pls respond
Get a washburn rover. Or one of those AA-powered mini electrics with the speaker built in.
A lot of people I know play the Ukulele, not the same, but its playing not too dissimilar, and easy to pick up.
>>804626
Martin Traveler...but it'll get ruined you say.
Rainsong....but it's 2 grand you say.
Here's the best answer. 3/4 size Walmart special. The can be had for 30 bucks and can be made playable. Hell, mine plays better that the Fender DG 1 or whatever the fuck it was called that I learned to play on.
Is it worth it?
I change my mind so often that I have absolutely no idea what I want to do. Up until I was 15 I wanted to be a soldier, then I started thinking about things and removed my red badge of courage. These last three years I've been toying with ideas such as an animator, artist, archaeologist, astronomer, entomologist, zoologist, the list goes on and on.
I question van life because through all of my deluded aspirations, the wild always calls. I'm young, and it's obvious that the "life" people want for me is full of misery. They make memes and shit about how their life is falling apart, well I'd rather die of frost on the side of a desert road due to engine failure than suffer through my 9-5.
Perhaps I'm a coward, but what are you gonna do, judge me?
>>801485
>archaeologist, astronomer, entomologist, zoologist, the list goes on and on.
you should probably go to school if you want to be any of those things
I wish vans were cheaper here in straya
OP if you're a photographer or something, it'll be awesome. Just some lifestyle and hobbies that would compliment van life.
I plan to do similar shit, maybe not for life but for a long long time. Sadly vans aren't too affordable in NZ :/
Why would anyone want to go hunting?
whats the actual appeal in murdering something? does it make you feel big or something? explain to me how killing animals is anything other than a sick, fucked up excuse for enacting gore that isn't illegal.
Literally explain this to me.

I don't trophy hunt, I think that's dumb. The only things I hunt are things I eat.
I'm not a vegetarian, and I don't think it's somehow more noble to have someone else bludgeon my food to death.
If you eat meat, and can't kill your own food, you should be a vegetarian. I really believe you should understand that eating meat involves killing an animal, and if you're not comfortable with the killing, you shouldn't be eating meat.
Unlike other hunters, I have no problems with others who choose to be vegetarian. The meat industry with their factory farms and inhumane treatment is pretty appalling. I really try to buy my meat from locally sourced humanely raised animals.
>>799223
So its just about skinning the flesh off of a living thing?
You just gonna post bait memes or actually make an argument to make up for your shit?
Because as far as i can see this shit is nothing but a middle finger to all outdoors activities, utter disrespect for mother nature is killing it.
I'm looking to get into fishing and heard this was pretty good starting gear for a beginner. I want a very small amount of gear so I can keep everything in the trunk of my car.
What else should I look into getting?
No.
No no no no.
Nooooooooooooooooooooo.
>>809939
Why and suggest an alternative plz
>>809897
I've done a fair bit of trout fishing with a cheap old Ugly Stick, they are fine. Get out there and fish, see if you like it, and scale up to something fancy or get into fly fishing once you know what you like.
Hey guys,
So I've recently been hammering a pond in my neighborhood and have been catching some nice bass 3-5 lbs. There a no-fishing sign there but I never leave any trash, or obstruct and wildlife, and the neighbors are completely cool with me fishing here too. There's an asshole who lives at one of the houses and has been yelling at me and has recently threatened to call the police. Is this neighborhood sign actually enforceable? Pic included of sign (found in some bushes and put this on my basement wall).
Here are some of the fish ive caught
>>809455
In general, white signs are law around my parts. If its private property then its definetly illegal, if its a sanctuary its definetely illegal, but if its just some dick who doesnt want you fishing out of a public area near his house your fine
Just got back from a bicycle touring adventure. Started in Reno two months ago and ended up in Nebraska. Thought I'd share some photos with you guys.
Mt. Tallac trail near Lake Tahoe.
Gopher snake near Bodie, CA.
Saline Valley road in Death Valley.
I'm looking for a good flashlight I can keep on a nightstand that can double as a dive light. I don't dive all that often, but I've had a couple of people ask me to dive for some stuff they've dropped in the drink over the last year and none of the local dive shops carry lights I can rent.
I'm looking for something in the pic related size. I think what I've found is a pretty damn good light, but I'm thinking I could find an equally nice light without the $160 price tag.
Why not buy a good cheaper flashlight that isnt waterproof and put it in a ziplock freezer bag while diving?
Or is that just totally retarded? I dunno ive never been diving, but it seems like you could waterproof a half decent flashliggt on your own for way cheaper than buying a legit dive light
>>809206
I thought it would work too and tried it on my last dive, but I even double bagged a light in a couple freezer bags and on top of not being water tight at 20-25 feet, it was also hard to get all the air out and got tiresome to hold after a while at the bottom because it was trying to float the whole time.
Op, have you tried Amazon?
>>809206
> ive never dived
Yes, retarded.
Hey what is this place I was on r9k and someone called me a normie and told me to get >>>/out/ why would he say this is >>>/out/ where all the normies are?

Looking for an Alternative to the Monkeyfist Knot just with spacing, so you can see the Ball inside.
Any suggestions
>>808602
Anything other than the monkeys fist is going to be difficult. I found pic related in The Ashley Book of Knots. 2208 is what you want.
>>808693
The only other alternative would be needle hitching which is fun but time consuming.
Here's the instructions for 2208.
>>808696
>implying the monkey fist isn't
Literally why though, op? The only reason to even use the monkey fist is if you have too much time and rope. We used weighted tennis balls on my last job.
If you absolutely need to know how to weave rope into a ball the monkey fist is truid and true. But no one uses them anymore. You could probably drill though baseballs for cheaper.
Sup /out/.
As just finished my 1st year of Uni, our generous and thoughtful housing advisers now graciously grant us the great privilege of living off campus. As I've looked at rent for most places nearby, I've realized I can own a camper for the rest of my 3 years for 1 year's rent.
So my question is, if I were to go trough with just getting a camper, where would I put it for power and sewage? What are some problems of living in a camper long term? My college is in a small mountain town with around 15k students so it's not huge, I was just trying to see if it's actually a sound plan. Thanks boys, you guys seem to know this shit better than anyone.
TL;DR How do I live out of a camper for 3 years?
Post 'em if you've got 'em, vintage ones give me a raging hard-on.

>power
Avoid utility-powered products... inverters are very inefficient. Most of what you'll need is available in 12v flavors, including laptop power supplies.
Solar can help offset some of the draw, but it's unlikely you can go completely off-grid. Need a lot of surface area to run appliances and recharge what you use through the night.
I'd get a 20- or 50-amp charger and plug it in periodically. I can recharge my trailer's battery in about 3 hours off my 20A and generator, and that battery will typically go 24+ hours with lights/furnace. (Laptop charges from 120 when I run the gen.)
LED lighting lasts longer and uses less power.
Isolate your vehicle's battery from the trailer. Some tow rigs have a relay on the 12v-aux pin on the RV connector, others (like mine) leave it connected to the trailer. If I don't disconnect the two, I could potentially drain both truck and trailer battery and not be able to start the truck.
Insulate everything if you're using it in the winter.
>sewage
Wouldn't bother. Make a quick trip to the gym or dorms for shower/shit.
>>807975
What about water?
With all of it would I be better off at a campground?
>>807985
See if they will let you park it on campus.
Go solar like anon says.
Get a portable cassette toilet and shower at the guym.
Save a fuckton of cash to pay down student debt.
This is how my brother got through school.
I'm thinking of volunteering with search and rescue in Ontario, but I have little knowledge of what it will truley intail. Does anyone hear have experience with search and rescue? Is it worth volunteering for?

Gonna have to agree with this guy OP. Someone might've helped if you asked nicely instead of
>Give me a list of plats that I can grow in almost any climate!
Which sounds like a demand. Learn some manners, bitch.
>>806858
Friendly reminder that /out/ is full of cunts who think they know more than you and will talk down to you when you ask a legitimate question.
Hey guys so i'm going camping next week and i don't know what to pack for food. I was planning to pack something light so i would not have to lug around so much weight. So i'd figured, should i carry 1 kg of rice krispies or 1 kg of beef jerky. I'm leaning toward the rice krispies because they're lighter. Thoughts?
>>806856
500g of marshmallows, 300g of rice, and 200g of krispies are even lighter.
There may be some extra work involved, but you end up with 1000g of treats instead of only 1kg.
>this troll thread again already
wait a couple more months next time, faggot
>>806856
Wow you can't even be original? And the faggot mods banned me for telling someone on here how to rape shy children. Fucking faggots.
