Solving the problems of the future!

The S3 Krypton by Wicked Laser is a full 2W and is cautioned to not look at the beam, dot or reflected might!

That should be enough to blind an attacking bear or any attacker.

Surely better than shooting and wounding or killing them right?

I think it would be extremely difficult to blind a charging bear with this. Just use bear spray. It'll be easier to hit them with and they won't be permanently blinded.

>ITT another terrible anti bear idea of /out/
>>
>>779346
Is this b8? Are you literally retarded?
>>
I hate single use gear, but this could also work for signalling and with 85 mile range, work farther than bear spray.

You could literally deter them BEFORE there become a threat!

Works on methheads, too.

Closest thing to a real lightsaber!

What are /out/s go to axes?

I'm getting increasingly into hiking and I already have a Camp Axe. I was looking for something a bit bigger and higher quality.

It(or they) need to be large and sharp enough to fall small tree and still small enough to be easy transported.

Whats a few QUALITY companies I should look at, and what are the best axe designs for what I'm looking for?

Many thanks, pic unrelated.

The latter are a bit less overpriced but the former are the cadillacs

Got several fixed and folder knifes. Problem is: At this point I got everything I need.

I'm not one of those guys who finds a new hobby and starts it by throwing as much money as possible in its direction.

I got good boots, Socks, clothes and a wonderful surplus combat pack I love more than the brand new hicking ruck I got for christmas.

I'm pretty basic when it comes to equipment. But I still want to spend the dosh on something useful.

i am interested in Swedish nature and fishing, but im not gonna sit at my desk looking at pictures of you looking at it
0/10 would not visit website

It seems in this state, you can shoot raccoons and skunks when there is "active damage", but you're supposed to have a license to kill opossums.

The freaking skunk(s) in the area are complete douches. Going around on the hottest and most humid nights and of course, getting into fights with other animals, leading to them spraying and stinking up the entire neighborhood.

screw you skunks

Hey guys, I'm going backpacking in the Ardennes pretty soon. I'm also planning on longboarding there but I don't own a longboard. Does anyone have experience with hiring one or just some advice?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Hire one? Surely you would be better off buying one that suited you before the journey began.
You may want to consider biking instead. Longboarding is fun but it's not energy efficient and over a long distance I suspect you'd wear yourself out. Plus you can strap stuff to the side of your bike and balance the load in a way that (I assume) is impossible on a longboard.
If you really want to rent a longboard, at the very least make sure you practice on a longboard or two at home if you can't already ride one.
>>
>>814156
Thanks for the advice
>>
as someone who has skated plenty of downhill in the ardennes, let me give you these pieces of advice:
1) if you don't know what you're doing, please don't do it at all. we put a lot of measures into taking down roads safely to ensure we don't get hurt or blow the spot by drawing police attention
2) if you know how to skate downhill, please do your research about the road and environment
3) use spotters and/or follow car, roads can get small and hectic in the ardennes at times, be aware of this factor
4) know how to coleman slide / footbreak (this is really mandatory)

we have a number of spots we frequent and we always take a lot of measures, such as:
- dawn patrol in case of high traffic road
- helmets and gloves at all times
- follow car and/or spotter if necessary
- enough research
- walkie talkie on the rider
- make sure you can get away from a spot quick of some locals get heated about it and call the police

tl;dr: please please please don't ruin our spots by doing stupid reckless shit, we've seen it happen enough

Hey /out/, I'll be climbing mt. baker about 9 hours, and I was wondering if any other climbers on here had any tips or tricks? I know It's not the biggest mountain but any advice is appreciated.

You have cell coverage up there? I didn't when I was up there.

Climbed it about a month and a half ago. Assuming you're doing a standard route the only thing that might be considered sketchy is the Roman wall. Even that isn't too bad.

About what?
Just climb the mountain FFS.

I did it when I was seven. Scampered around the whole way. Drank water from one of the streams without getting sick. I wouldn't do the latter again if that helps.

need you to weigh in on this /out/

i have had the msr miniworks for 3 years with zero problems. recently however, i was being a lazy faggot and instead of sanitizing after a backpacking trip by boiling the pieces, i stuck the chamber and pump head in the microwave for 1 min and walked away.

well there was a little plastic-y thing in the pump that melted and now the pump is ruined. i was reading over the warranty on this and it said its not covered by misuse or improper handling/maintenance. however, i tried searching for a pump head on ebay and amazon but i cant find the piece.

should i make up some bs to try to have this repaired by MSR or should i ask them if they will sell me a separate pump head? im afraid they wont want to sell me a pump head and ill be out of a water filter/$70

>>
>>812494
You tightass fuck. 3 years, and it shits itself because of your stupidity, and you won't just spend the $70 on a new one?
>>
>>812494
Send it in they might fix it. What do you have to lose?

Also you could just use it as a gravity fed filter if the pump thingy still lets water through.

But yea I am like destitute poor but 3 years from a 70 dollar water filter is pretty good just buy a new one. Hell my replacement cartridges are 40 bucks.
>>
>>812537
nah man, this shit could have lasted longer. im poor as shit at the moment. i guess ill just ask them to sell me the pump
>>812540
it wont work as a gravity filter, it needs pressure. i tried
