So I went cross country biking one last time before I went on vacation before I went on vacation to Pennsylvania for a couple weeks. So I get home, and lo and behold there are two deer ticks on the back of my right calf. I removed them with based Scotch tape. They couldn't have been there for more than an hour and a half. Now I'm back home two weeks later and I'm feeling like shit. Slight fever, headache, abdominal pains and just a general uneasy feeling starting the last two days. I've had a decreased appetite as well for the past couple of weeks. Am I being a worry wart faggot or could of I picked something? It may just be the hot weather, seeing as how I do better in cold conditions.

Go to the doctor, dumbass...
>>823999
>could of I
You need remedial English, after you go to the doctor. It might not be, but it's always possible, and we can't diagnose you. Best to catch it early when it's easy to treat.

All your symptoms are also symptoms of someone who is being a little worrying bitch.
Werid thing; everytime ive had a tick on me. Its always been already dead.. They die inside me for some reason or another.
#70.5- "Fishbra" Edition

Had to deviate from the traditional numbering system to satisfy my love of dolphins and anon's love of fishbras. Now her boobs smell just like my mustache!
This summer heat needs to end soon, I'm trying to make it through August without dying of heat exhaustion. It's so hard to get out to the lake when the AC at home is set just right. But I still have some new lakes I need to explore this weekend so I might have to tolerate the sun in search of feesh.
Pastebin and Imgur are still there and open to new copypastas and informational pics.

cabelas vs local shop?
>>823905
So you killed it, right?
>>823907
I liked my local shop up north, and I could always ask the dude for advice. Really good selection of tackle too so I would buy a lot of lures there but the rod and reel selection was a lot of high end stuff so I would buy my $40 rods from bigger retailers normally. Haven't found a local place around here that I'm attached to so I normally just do Dick's or Bass Pro. The few local shops with freshwater stuff around here have a limited selection of lures too so I normally don't go in there unless I'm going for live bait.
If you have a good local shop nearby that doesn't rape you on prices and gives you honest advice, spend money there and support them.
BOOKED MY FLIGHTS TO KUNGSLEDEN IN SEPTEMBER IM FUCKING HYPED /OUT/
>>822805
Fucking hell I want to do that too!
I'd like to stay for a month or two but I've read you have to be somewhat quick because you have to cross rivers and lakes before they freeze.
>>822805
I just google-earthed the shit out of it.
Seems nice. Too bad the Vikings were splintered into the sub-countries of Swed/Fin/Norge.
Would have been a True Master Race!
just came back yesterday, did Kvikkjokk to Saltoluokta. Would recommend. Pic related
My friend and I have never been overnight camping before and we were going to try camping/hiking in Sequoia, as we live in Los Angeles, so we need as much advice as /out/ can give. What do we need to bring? Any campgrounds there that you can recommend? Trails? Food? Water?
>>821803
> need
I like the butter packs from KFC. They work great as single use lube and edible. A little goes a long way.
Me and a friends just finished or first backpacking trip in Sequoia. I would definitely recommend the lakes trail to pear lake. We spent a few days there but you could do it as a day hike. The Watchtower trail is great unless your really bad with heights.
You'll probably need to get a reservation now
Somebody recently posted on /r/trees about a one month camping trip they are going on then posted what I can only assume is the supplies they are bringing with them in addition to copious amounts of drugs they will also be bringing. From the looks of it they will be having a bad time. Sorry if this is a shitpost but I wanted to share with others who might appreciate the problems they will face

"I want to get more in touch with nature" the hike...
This retard doesnt look like hes bringing any food so guranteed hes going hungry. If not from the lack of food around him, but from the fact he went through it all when he got the munchies. Also carrying a whole lot of unnecesary crap, but nothing really usefull like cookware or a canteen...no extra clothing or shelter etc.
I hope this fag stumbles across a bear while high and gets eaten. Fucking faggot.
Describe your dream gear. From knifes, backpacks to cameras and books you would carry on your journeys without any financial limits

last winter I bought the 4 season tent of my dreams (pic rel) got 5 months left to pay it off before punishing interest rate kicks in.
Hey Sc/out/s,
I'm somewhat new to being out and am looking for a few different knives for different things and thought, since they were not weapon related, you would be the people to come to. I'm often /out/ ( mostly walking through my city as I have no need for a car given public transit; sometimes in nature ) and would like to buy a few different SAKs ( Swiss Army Knives ) based on where I'm going. I'm not interested in SwissTools ( due to their size but I'd gladly use one at work ) or hearing about competitors ( I've already looked through Buck, Wegner, Opinel, etc. ) as I'm looking for a few knives that are both versatile and petite.
For this conversation we can rule out the Hunter Pro ( I like it, would love to know more about it but it lacks options ) along with the Sentinel ( has the toothpick and tweezers but I'd like more options and it has a low build quality ) and focus on the more traditional models.
One knife I like the thought of is the Explorer if I know I'm going to be in natural areas. I think the magnifying glass and tweezers could work well together for removing ticks and splinters. I'm not sure if that is overkill or not. The Forester knife is another one I've thought about for this purpose.
While I wouldn't say I do Urbex( if there were more places around here to explore I might though and the way the economy in my area is more places like that may become available ). I was thinking the Pioneer X might be a good urban or EDC.
I plan to get the Fisherman and Rescue tool. I think the Rescue tool will be a nice edition to my backpack and given I do enjoy fishing I believe the Fisherman will be of a lot of use to me.
Help a wanna-be sc/out/ /out/?
Get a swiss champ
>>819831
OP, you sound borderline autistic.
They're not super tools, but can be handy, so just get one that has what you find handy.
IMO if I don't mind a bit of weight in my pocket I'd rather carry a Leatherman Juice S2 (which I do) as it has pliers as well as scissors and a knife, and a myriad of other tools.
For SAKs, well, IMO, the most useful tools are the scissors, tweezers, and knife and so those are the ones I prioritise. Add a tec dangler clip and you're sorted.
I wouldn't bother with the locking SAKs, if you're in the market for a full size locking folder there are way better options.
>>820045
curt but really quite a good suggestion
Pair it with an Opinel and you have a decent set up.
>>820049
Opinel no.6 and my grandads champ are all i use desu, maybe a mora and a saw if im not hiking. If i was in the us i might carry more, but for uk its perfect
Should I spend 33k on a converted cargo van?
>>818896

>>818927
It's the ultimate /out/mobile though.

Lift kit.
Solar panels.
What does /out/ think of MCQBushcraft?
>>818537
Quit shilling your shitty youtube channel, faggot.
>>818557
yes it is I, mike from mcqbushcraft
eat my shorts
How's the Swanndri handle? I've got one of their bush shirts. It's all right but very damp inside.
I'm going to try and sell it on, actually. I think a large might fit me better in the hood.
Hello /out/,
I was looking into getting a decent quality body condom. I've seen sleeping bags, and more recently quilts.
I want to go towards a quilt because they are way more cheap and slightly lighter...problem is I haven't yet really seen one in a store so I have to go off people's reviews online.
What are people's experiences with them and why shouldn't I go for one over a sleeping bag?
I want to do some winter camping, and in a tent.
Thanks :)
I use them for my hammock, as they are the preferred top insulation for hammocks.
I have a Jacks R Better Sierra Sniveler. It's about $250 or so for one. While I use it in a hammock, it would be perfectly fine for the ground, and in fact the makers designed it for use on the ground as well.
You won't see many quilts in stores unless they are higher end specialty stores.
>>817856
How did you find it for warmth? Does it hold true to it's rating?
I use a quilt And like it. I met a guy who prefers bags because he sleeps cold, and he's a side sleeper. When he turns in a quilt, inevitably there's a draft that exposes him to cold air. I'm actually a side sleeper too but don't mind the draftiness that much. This is with a 20°F quilt. Anything colder and I go for a bag.
Did /out/ used to watch Steve Irwin?
If so, what , if anything, did you learn from his show?
Also, press F to pay respect.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE1HDSipRxU
yeah i miss him often
is all his stuff on youtube?
i was living in straya when he died and man, it was like a national tragedy. for about 2 weeks it was the main story on the daytime talk shows and news outlets. all kinds of public displays and memorials and stuff. not that they were making it overly huge and cheap, but that he was their biggest celebrity and donated so much money and time to his zoo and conservation as well. he was a huge tourism draw and role model. his wife and daughter were probably a bit oversaturated for a couple years though. people were worried that bindi was being pushed into her father's footsteps whether she like it or not.
but anywho, top bloke. his personality and expertise were 100% responsible for his success, which is refreshing. he was the real deal.
As a biologist, it bothered me the way he interacted with wildlife, but I can't say I don't get the same level of enthusiasm as he does when handling animals. Overall I respect him as he did a lot to foster an understanding of wildlife that most people would never be exposed to.
Daily reminder that Colorado is shit for outdoors since all the normies moved in. How is your state doing for /out/ since commiefornians started mass migrating?
>>816682
lol i grew up in colorado, it's all overrated and always has been. fucking normies just made it worse, denver is a lame fucking city.
The secret is to live in the South, so that the transplants will be too scared of rednecks to go /out/.
>>816682
They look like they're having a fun time OP
im a femanon and also an /out/ist
i LOVEEEEEEE <3 the outdoors but i am so scared im gonna get raped. how to cope with that terror feel?
>>814406
i live in a country with not many blacks anyway. so the majority of rapists actually are white.
That's not a rational fear.
>>814407
Well then there goes my second suggestion of bring a gun. What country? How are your self defense laws? You might be fucked if you defend yourself.
I fell for the Mora meme.
What's your favourite Mora blade/sheath modification?
>>808568
I use bicycle innertube to secure a firesteel and sharpening stone to my sheath. Also use innertube to secure the knife like in your pic, but loop second ranger band through the first one to grab on to, like a kind of tab you can pull on to free the knife.
removing the paint.
>>808568
Good thing about them is that they're so cheap that you can afford 2 and mod one as much as you want.
Even poorfags need apply.
What rifles do you guys like to use on /out/ings?
>>807841
I don't have it but look up the Pack Rifle, beats this by a lot.
Savage 17-HMR or my 30/30, normally pack my shotgun if I do pack a gun which is rare. 12 gauge under under
>>807848
> pack rifle
An accurate, +1#, minimalist, takedown rifle.
Darn near bought one. Changed directions and sent off Form 1 SBR paperwork on a Ruger 10/22 Takedown.
Time I'm done I should have a semi-auto repeater at just 2#+.
