>want a camper van to travel the country and live in the woods
>realize that its almost 2017 and no company makes them any more
Why is this?
Do they genuinely think the American population doesn't want these kidns of vehicles any more?
Almost every camper van that has ever been made is either scrapped or out of service
Your best bet, and mine, is a used Toyota Chinook/Dolphin.
Trust, I've been looking.
I mean sportsmobiles exist. Its not factory, and not as hip as an old westfalia...but they do exist.
Or just diy your own out.
>>915553
Yeah, but they also look like complete ass and usually way too big.
What is a good target compound bow that wont murder my wallet? Ideally below 600 usd
All the big names make good bows, Bowtech, Matthews, Hoyt, etc.....
Much of it is which one feels good to you.
If you have an archery shop near you, you should go an shoot a few and see what feels good to you in your price range.
If you go for a used bow, you can find a good deal, just make sure it is right for you, as in draw length and poundage. Some are adjustable some are not.
There are a lot of great bowhunting and archery sites, archery talk, texasbowhunter.com, etc......
>>915491
I keep hearing complaints on how hunting compound bows are inferior in accuracy to target bows, is that a meme or not?
>>915551
Not that guys but yes.
compound bows for hunting are some of the most accurate bows full stop, so yes. it's a meme. Their accuracy blows any recurve out of the water.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Saw this grumpy fellow in my backyard yesterday eating. I live in North Jersey, any idea what kind of bird it is?
>>915136
A satisfied one, judging by that pile of feathers and tint of blood. But really, some sort of hawk. Possibly a sharp-shinned hawk.
>>915136
It is known as Justice. Justice is swift, strikes it's prey down with speed and accuracy ...it is also know as what you people call a "Hawk"
When i was 16 (i'm 25 now) I got a job on a farm where I basically carried a rifle in my gator and went around moving hay and working other various jobs out in the country, and shot cans and shit on time off.
My younger brother who is fifteen was asking if there was a way he could get a job like mine, but I don't know how he can get one like I did
Basically, what are some jobs someone his age can get that requires being outside and helpingn out with shit. He thought about ranch work but those all require knowing how to ride a horse, and he can't ride. This would probably be in the summer.
Thanks
>>915133
I got a job that was similar by volunteering to begin with.
>>915135
? For what
>>915133
I've seen plenty of ranch jobs that require no experience, even with animals (including horse riding)
Check out craiglist, I see Ada there all the time for it in my area.
Any good fishing lure brand ideas that i could steal? You could be a part of something great. Like inventor of the name Ferrari

Now I'm stuck looking for places to hunt in Socal near LA county. Seems like there's so many rules I don't want to break one and get fined/guns confiscated. Also nobody wants to share their "Secret spots".

>>914977

ca is shit for hunting due to regulations
>>914977

If I get bored I may start a fire.
>>914757
I'm not sure if the heat in my house even works. I have lived here 4 years and never used it.

How can I train so that I can hike fast enough to gain 2,000 ft elevation per hour? Right now I can sustain 1,400 ft/hr.
>>914664
For run training they usually suggest that running at longer distances helps improve speed.
Also, just get gud?
Keep traveling 1,400 ft/hr
Gradually you will be capable of handling more. Just like practicing or training for anything else, just keep doing it.
>hiking as fast as possible
>watching feet all the time
>missing da beauty
Run Forest.
Why do people buy tents when it is so much more comfy to sleep in the back of your SUV?
>>914639
Because not everyone camps on the side of the damn road. Sometimes you gotta hike places, and an SUV is a helluva thing to tote up a mountain, I can tell you that.
>>914641
some of the newer ones actually have powered wheels on them now for hill assist. some elitists say they don't need wheels to haul their SUVs up hills but they're behind the times
>>914639
Because Im not a tiny person and fuck having to sleep in the fetal position .

How is the weather for those up north? Does it feel good getting cucked by Mother Nature all the time? Just sitting there, weeping, watching Mama N get rammed by 12" of thick, hard black ice.
Still waiting for help with the beginner guides on the Pastebin. I put a little saltwater one in there, but I want to do a river one possibly. Skid typed up a saltwater guide so enjoy the autism and CAbaymang just did a trout one.

Affordable /out/ approved metal-frame sunglasses

>Affordable /out/ approved metal-frame sunglasses
I just bought a pair of WalMart $8 sunglasses. Similar style, nice dark lenses, and easily replaceable if lost or damaged.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aviator-Sunglasses-Shades-Driving-Men-Women-Outdoor-Sports-Eyewear-Glasses-UV400/120334638
Expensive sunglasses aren't any better than cheap sunglasses at protecting your eyes. You're paying for better build quality.
>>913834
>You're paying for better build quality.
Or you could just not treat your cheap sunglasses as if you're six years old.
I currently work a job where I have to walk around outside for an hour in extremely cold temperatures looking at temperatures and fuels of trailers. What do you guys reccommend for good gloves that can keep my hands warm in 45 below zero windchill while still be able to wrtie with a pen comfortably>
>>913579
Do you live near a Cal Ranch or Tractor Supply Company franchise?
Both should have RACKS of different types of gloves.
Alternate Home Depot or Lowes.
Pick what fits, if you like it.
>>913579
Do you need dexterity? If not id recommend the gordini gor-tex gloves a with a fuckload of insulation. If yes, get a mitten that you can fold open temporarily to do what you need to do then close it back up when you are just gonna be walking. Alternatively, you could get a lighter glove and sew a pocket on the back of it, and shove some chemical hand warmers in that pocket.

>What do you guys reccommend for good gloves that can keep my hands warm in 45 below zero windchill while still be able to wrtie with a pen comfortably
is this a joke?
if you haven't learned anything in the past three days, I'd recommend watching this dude's video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTSETaNFV-8
If you can't stand 15 minutes, watch it at 1.5x speed for 10 minutes.
The TL;DR is that you aren't finding shit that won't cost you good money while being sleek enough to "comfortably" write with a pen AND protect you from subzero temperatures unless you have the Nordest of white genes and years of acclimation to that type of weather.
I am trying to put together a belt pouch first aid kit to go on my knife and ammo belt when I am out shooting. We dont have snakes here, looking at basically doing some fabric band-aids, a large crepe bandage and a wound pad. Can anybody give be something to add?
>>913475
Quick clot, antiseptic, tweezers, scissors.
>>913475
Condoms, you never know.
And can be used for water container.
>>913475
>wasting a first aid kit by filling it with bandanas
a cat tourniquite and some benadryl will be the best life savings per pound. if you really want a bandage in there look up israeli bandage.
Did I did good ?
Are you going to the jungle or doing some gardening?
>>913064
gardening and bushcraft
A machete is only good for clearing brush. If you want to cut down smaller trees, you're much better off with a heavy knife or a hatchet.
Havent watched Wranglerstar in about a year, has he completely lost it like Nutnfancy?
>>912757
Yes.
>>912757
Is that autistically-stacked firewood behind him or a firewood wall for the structure itself. The former proves your point, the later is just fucktarded.
>>912765
he's had that for years. Just a layer overtop the wall, not structural.
But yeah, op, he's gone steadily downhill over the past several years. All his videos are clickbait with titles that have nothing to do with their content. One of his videos entitled, "I WASN'T PREPARED FOR THIS!!!!" is literally him preparing for a blizzard. Or else the titles reference one minor event in the video that wasn't even reacted to or noted at the time of shooting.
it's all garbage now, op. I just watch him because there's still a trace of the content I enjoy underneath all the garbage.
