Who makes the best value for money wool clothing?
I'm defining value for money as the cheapest stuff that is still good.
>thrift
I'm not American :(
The Korean era US wool shirts are supposed to be good, but they're tricky to get over here for a good price.
You can sometimes get a swanndri for about 50£ on fleabay
>no thrift
Ya'll dont have 2nd hand stores or garage sales there?

Boot thread died and I had a question. I am looking at danner elk hunters to replace my crap hunting boots. I wanted an insulated American made boot with welted soles. These fit the bill does anyone have any experience or opinion of these?
>>943352
I have the Danner Vicious model. They work well for me, so I have a good opinion of the brand. That's all I got for ya though.

Hello /out/siders. I'm looking for the best telescope to buy for my boyfriend because he really wants to star gaze. I'm willing to spend up to 500$ on it. I however know nothing about telescopes besides that cheap ones won't show you much. Any suggestions on a telescope that will let you see galaxies?
>>958867
Honestly you'll probably have a better time with binoculars. But if you really want to do the telescope thing you'd be best served with a Dobsonian telescope. You should be able to find a decent one with your price range.
>>958867
Depends on what you're looking for. Pro-tip: Think of a telescope like a bucket, the bigger the bucket the more light you'll collect and the better you'll see what you're looking at.
Something like this: http://www.celestron.com/browse-shop/astronomy/telescopes/powerseeker-telescopes/powerseeker-114eq-telescope

Let's talk growing your own veggies.
Today I started my first experiment planting three zucchini seeds. Gave them all their own little pot, with plans to put them in a larger container later in april. For now, I'll grow them in my room (around 10 degrees celcius).
So, how are you guys doing?

It's ok. All he did was bump one of the 60 knife threads into the archives.
hey i'm from England and am wondering if anyone knows any abandoned or just any places that can be explored any suggestions would be helpful
Where you at in England, m8? Or are you willing to go anywhere?
Check out the book 'wild ruins' by Dave Hamilton. It lists lots of abandoned castles, churchs and mills which are /out/.
>>958126
I envy the shit out of Europeans. All the ancient ruins and historical places you have access to. I mean, I get it, I understand they're not scattered all over the place and most are probably private property/museums, but even the fact that the land was involved in this incredible history is awesome.
Hey guys! I'm really new here. And I would like to build a house, but I don't know where to go. Preferably in a place where it doesn't snow. What places do you reccomend and why?
>>957876
google it you lazy motherfucker
>>957876
North Florida is /comphy/ as fuck also cheap and has some of the most beautiful natural parks in the united states
>>957876
Since this is /out/, what sort of outdoor activities do you engage in? That may limit some of your choices. I wouldn't recommend moving to Florida, as the one anon says, if you enjoy challenging hiking, for instance. However, if you like beaches, canoeing, etc it's wonderful.
Anyone near Pensacola Fl?
Life sucks dick here
Why do you ask?

Trying to identify a fungus growing on one of the trees on my property.
Pic related
Extra details:
>growing on a non fruiting mulberry
>area is west side of the central san-joaquin valley in california, high desert climate in the rain shadow of the coastal range
>branch that the mushrooms are growing out of is showing signs of exfoliation indicating dead sections of the branch, however the mushrooms are not growing on portions of the tree known to be dead
>no other neighboring trees on the property are showing similar growths

Cool.
So I'm currently planning an innawoods camping trip with some friends, everything is planned out except on where to go.
Anyone know any good locations within Ohio/Pennsylvania/Virginia? We want to stay for 3 days.
I really hate park campgrounds and am looking for a primitive camping experience.
>>956180
Grand Canyon National Park and Sedona, AZ.
>>956228
>within Ohio/Pennsylvania/Virginia
Also, any people know if the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant is completely no-trespassing? Or are there some parts that you can go to?
>>956180
>everything is planned out except
Fucking moron, if you don't know where you are going and what the terrain/ conditions are, everything is not planned out. Stay in mummies backyard.
Has anybody here hiked the laugavegur trail in Iceland?
>>955851
I hiked in iceland to some stuff from the car and back. Wind can be brutal, as can the weather, whatever you are gonna do, make sure to bring decent layered clothes (expensive good outdoor brands are not a bad idea here, I am talking about arc'teryx/northface/fjallraven). Bring good gloves and headwear. Also, let the help service know where you are going.
>>957751
Oh, before you fags gonna complain, it werent small walks, more like 5-6 hours hikes.
>>957756
Except 5-6 hours IS a small walk.
i want to cycle a 600 mile bike route in norway. what sort of bike tires would i need for this.
>>955796
Well, that would depend on the type of route, now wouldn't it?
>>955796
that's not vague or anything
go ask a bike shop, dude
>>955796

New to /out/ and being outside in general. I'm about to start a job in Louisiana from the beginning of March to the end of June. It's a research job that'll involve spending long hours outdoors, and I'm not sure what all to bring apart from water and a shit ton of bug repellant. Any suggestions?
>>953734
What's your job and what are your outdoor goals? A head net and wide brimmed hat might not be a bad idea if you can't take the mosquitos. Other than that, unless you're planning on hunting it's the same gear you'd need to sleep in any other dump around the country.
I've spent several weeks in southern Louisiana before. I'm a Pennsylvania man, as far northern in PA as you can get even. Louisiana was crazy hot for me.
The humidity alone was suffocating for me. Granted I was there like 3 weeks after Hurricane Katrina so we had no AC, and the second time I was there was for hurricane Gustav, which we had limited AC.
My advice is to bring a towel or rag to continually wipe sweat off of you, seriously.
Louisiana is beautiful, and the people are awesome. I loved it, but the humidity is nearly unbearable if you're not used to it.

What are good examples/books of right wing environmentalism
There are none.
>>952359
Almost all childrens books are right wing. They say "pick upyour trash lets be good people" not "we are so much better than that guy lets punish him"
>>952359
>right wing environmentalism
in the US there once was the "crunchy-con" movement but the GOP is so far sold and gone that it doesn't really exist on a mainstream level anymore (people are scared of losing their energy donors)
which is why you are seeking GOP state officials in AK and Utah being able to make bullshit moves on open spaces.
Is pic related going to be a good sleeping bag for /out/ings? Also sleeping bag/quilt general.
I will be backpacking and plan on doing a thru hike of one of the big 3.
If anyone has a better recommendation that is affordable like this one please fill me in.
Thanks all.
How about posting either a link, or brand and model name, retard, or even a description like fill type and amount.
