I am learning how to hunt and making this kind of picture will be a good exercise for me. I will try to create a new one every now and then.

So, this is a classical which is which. Here we have a:
Skunk
Weasel
Mink
Stoat (summer pelt)
Polecat
Pine marten
Beech marten

Which is the the smaller one ?
Which is the wild version of a common pet?
If you see one of them sleeping in a tree, can you expect it to weight more than 1 kg/2 lbs?
If you see one jumping around to move, how much meat can you expect to get if you kill it?
If you see one and it's sunny, how much meat can you expect to get if you kill it?
If you are in mountain, which can you meet?
If you want to hunt them (not one in particular), do you go in a wetland? In a forest? When?

Nope, it is a polecat, but ferrets are domesticated polecats, so they are basically the same animal. It's like the wild cat/house cat thing.

I'm going for a short two night hike this weekend. Won't need to carry much weight, so I was gonna make one of these and try it out. If it's comfy, I might try making something that'll last a little longer (sew a bag compartment, use nice hardwood, make webbing?)

Anyways, I wanted to have a thread on making packs and altering packs. I've seen other anons on here who've made pretty awesome packs, so I hope they post some tips.

I just ordered an LK35 Frame and I'm going to try to transplant it onto my ALICE pack

If I like it I'm going to try to rivet the belt so I can attach a pouch to hold a water bottle.
>>
>>964608
huh, interesting. Isn't the alice pack meant for a lot more weight vs. the lk35?
>>
If i didn't already have too many bags I'd build one myself.
They are some nice hip belts around Amazon and I'd love to be able to customize my pack how I want.

Might do it just cause I don't have an external frame pack

Any of you guys like to make little crafts or tools once in a while?
I used 2 paper clips and a knife for this can and I cooked 4 chicken wings with about 3 lbs of wood (side note cut off the top bc it melts from the heat)

Cute micro rocket stove. Not very efficient tho. But single use crafts in the bush are a fun way to pass the time.

I like the look of the SPLAV Gorka 5. Anyone have any thoughts on it? Where should i buy one (as in what's the best/most legit place to buy it). I'm currently located in Europe/Austria.

Any advice on how to farm inside a wooded area? Plants or animals. No chopping trees.

Let pigs free roam? Could they find enough food?
Let chicken free roam?

Plant mushrooms on logs?

Harvest what little sap the trees have?

>>
>>964342
The traditional method was chopping trees. But some trees can be cut in ways that they grow back in useful shapes such as multiple long an thin poles.

But you can always grow a food forest

The other answers are dependent on your climate and what species are growing.

Chickens will stay around only if they have a food source to come back to. And you have to build a wood perimeter to keep animals from eating your crop.
>>
>>964342
If you can get away with all that, just grow weeds and trade for needs.

I've just signed for a hiking week and I'm a totally scared because my feet are very very very prone to blisters and I'm not fit enough. What essential tips can you guys give me for preventing blisters and not suffering in the hike? ¿Is compeed prehike a good solution?

The hike goes for 10-15 km per day in a path of hardness 5-6 on a scale from 1 to 10.

>preventing blisters
catch them before they become blisters, as soon as you feel a hotspot apply ducttape or moleskin or similar product
>>
>>964183
Get your boyfriend to carry you?

Just start walking alot in whatever shoes you're going in. Maybe there'll be other slowpokes so you won't feel like you're holding things up too much.
>>
I don't think you will care about blisters, but you will need some preparation because noone likes being the weakest link and slowing everyone down.

Just do 10-15km on the treadmill everyday until you're doing a good pace

Didn't see a thread about cave exploration up so I want to start one. I've only ever been in commercial caves before and I want to know more.
I don't know much about what equipment I'll need but I wanted to learn a bit more about spelunking, you know squeezing into tight spaces and then squeezing out again alive.

No thread because the op from the one from last month got stuck deep underground and bled out as they were cutting off his leg before he starved.
>>
>>963613
Wait really? I never come here so I don't know.
>>
>>963589
I cave, bro.
Gear for the most part is simple stuff. Helmet and a headlamp is the minimum (coveralls are nice though). Depending on the cave you may want ropes and harnesses. If you don't know a cave, I would recommend finding a cave map and knowing how to read it.
Going through tight spaces is practice and remaining calm.
