Okay, so this is the first time I've ever prepared a gear list for camping/backpacking. This is what all I've got together. This list is supposed to be a general purpose loadout for Northern NC, with small changes made depending on the season (heavier bag, etc). I'm not an experienced camper by any means. I spent a few years in the Corps (but the "camping" you do there is radically different and not quite a transferable skill) and did an outward bound course in college (again, different style of camping with different logistical accommodations), So while I'm not entirely clueless, I'd like to hear from some of you folks. I'm mostly concerned with what you think I should cut. Is there anything you'd add?
>>992429
forgot to add trashbag and TP
That is a ton of stuff.
>>992445
Yeah, I felt like it was when I had it all laid out. That's my main reason for posting this. What would you cut?
You have your own block of land, what do you do with it? If you had to live on it for a few weeks how would you survive?
>>992257
Buy shit at the store.
Build wife house.
Buy hoe and 2 shitty dump trucks.
Start digging dick shapped bunker.
Looking for land right now. Not even kidding.
>>992257
I've been saving up money to get a few hundred acres up north as whale.
Need me like 50k + ):
>>992440
Trying to buy 20. Has an old house we will build near. Its enough for now until we get our shit together and retire
Hey /out/, not sure how many Europeans are here but i wanted to ask if anybody knows if wild camping is posible in Croatia in summer months, specificly in Istria Peninsula, i've read that its banned and heavily controlled, but others tell that they've done it without a problem with just a tent.
you can camp with ease, just use your common sense.
obviously dont make camp on beaches, private grounds, towns etc.
lots of people live of tourism, so they dont appreciate "vagrants" since it ruins the visage (in their viewpoint).
find a nice secluded place on the outskirts of towns and you should be fine.

what about like 1-2 km from the beach in a forest, does anyone go there?
Orange pins is where you can safely camp, stay out of main coastal road
Does music really help plants grow? I have been playing some bluegrass and John Lee Hooker to my vegetablesfor 4- 5 hours a day for the past week but I don't know if it's having any effect.
Depends what they're into.
>>991884
Plantasia or bust OP. You want your veggies to be happy dontcha??

>>991884
Music itself does not help plants grow. Energy helps plants grow. Music is energy.
Plants are probably far smarter than we think. Cellular memory is a growing field. But they cannot appreciate cake over staind.
I just got bit today which means the warmth is coming back and bringing the swamp crawlers.
Besides a full blood transplant or a burqa, what is the most efficient method to protect your entire body from mozzies and sqeets?
Permethian is helpful, more so than deet IMHO.
>>991832
Mosquito bites are a histamine reaction to mosquito saliva, which we are allergic to. Just dope up on a bunch of benedryll and you'll forget they're even there. Chase the dryll with vodka, they won't have to inject as much spit to get what they need.

Why do benadryl if I can just do datura?
Is it true that the mexicans will snatch you?
>want to hike along the amazon
>Blonde haired, blue eyed
>I hear that mexicans like to kidnap people of my physique and hold them for ransom in the Amazon
Is this true? can I go deep up in the Amazon or will I get kidnapped?
>>991442
Totally true, Mexicans love to kidnap people from the Amazon.
>>991442
>Sawyer Mini
yes there are lots of MEXICANS in the amazon.......
Mexican here.
Yes, I live near the Amazon and I will kidnap anyone that looks diferent from me. Its in my blood, sorry.
Can someone help me identifying this tree?
Thanks anon
Outside world, here I come

Make sure to take vids and upload them. Make sure they are outside.

What does the duct tape on the blades do? Just reinforcement?
I just drew for deer, elk and oryx this year, and am fucking stoked. This is better than Christmas for an 8 year old. It's going to take weeks to wipe the smile off of my face.
>>990959
Me, I know that feeling anon.
>>990993
I know. I've already been told to eat aids infected dicks by somebody who didn't draw. I had an 85% chance of drawing at least one and a 2.2% chance of drawing all three. I'm gonna go buy a lottery ticket now.
Why are you stoked about drawing pictures of game animals

Forgot to resize the picture. Here it is without all the annoying numbers. Also it all fits nicely in a 45L rucksack.
fair warning this board is not the best avenue to ask for a critque. theres too big of a spread between the bushcrafters and the light weight packers, so you get a lot of trolls.
you could probably do without the paracord, batteries tape and film. if you have a smart phone just use that for pictures. otherwise youre probably good. have fun
>>990939
Heh, nice thanks. I'm not after serious critic, I just enjoy the mud people fling here. However, sometimes someone pops up with a decent suggestion. I've got the tenacious tape (it's a tiny amount) just because all these new fangled lightweight materials are too easy to rip for my liking.

Still looking for good stuff for the Pastebin and Imgur. Maybe we can get a list of Youtube vids and put them in the Pastebin or keep a couple important ones in the OP.

Has anyone used these?
Headed to FL for easter. Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier will be nearby. I'd really like to catch some pompano. I usually fish for specks and redfish in my state. Anyone have advice (bait, terminal tackle, tactics) for hooking pompano off a pier?
Also should I try and prepare it for ingestion to have a delirious introspective experience?
>>989622
Not worthwhile. You're probably just trying to be an edgelord anyway...
get some real magic mushrooms, don't waste your time with amanitas
>>989622
Thats a toadstool. Toxic

Fly argaric
1 or 2 caps in the spring and summer will make you high
Too many (10+) will poison you
Boil them and you can eat as many as you want
Fishing around kids has to be the worst fucking thing about fishing. Here's a particularly bad story:
>I'm 17
>fishing at local park
>using minnows on a bobber, since it's a heavily fished lake and the fish rarely hit lures
>group of kids (about 4-8) and their parents come up to lake
> 8 year old has a fishing rod
>using some sort of leech lure, has it on the hook wrong
>sees me fishing farther down the shore and begins coming towards me, younger siblings following
>8 year old begins asking me the regular "Catch anything?" and whatnot
>tell him I caught a perch, 2 pickerel, and a bass
>kid begins casting right on top of me
>eventually crosses my line
>see parents watching and doing nothing
>untangle the lines, kid asks for advice on what lure he should use and pulls a bunch of discarded lures from his pocket
>asks me the "probability" of catching something on each of these lures is
>just want him to go away, so I tell him to just stick with what he's got and fix his lure for him
>soon after I catch a nice pickerel and the kids are ecstatic
>of course, now the kid wants to use my minnows
>only have 4 or 5 left
>tell him that I paid for them (things are only 4 bucks per dozen but he wouldn't know)
>"You can share though!"
>patience has run out by now
>"I'm sorry, I paid for them. And I'm almost out of them."
>kid calls for his dad
>fuck me
>dad walks over
>”This kid is messing with me.”
>tell dad what happened, made sure to give him the “I just want this to be over” look
>dad tells me to let his son have "a couple"
>tell the dad the same thing I told the kid
>dad tells me that since I’m older I need to be the “bigger man”
>tell him no
>he starts yelling at me
>fuck this
>get up and release the minnows and pack up my shit
>kid crying from frustration, dad pissed
>trying to avoid a fight with this guy, I just say “You’re as immature as your kid.”
Completely ruined the rest of my day. Did I do something wrong?
>>989468
Jeeez anon were you in jail or something? Why would you hold that resentment until now?
>>989468
Man this is some repressed anger shit. Anyways you're an ass for not giving a kid single minnow. Everytime i go fishing I give some of my bait.
You sound like a big fat faggy kike
Hey /out/, I need a new helmet.
Id prefer to just get one, but I'm not sure if the same helmet would be good enough for mountain biking, urban exploration and light climbing/bouldering. Blah blah saftey ratings, ect.
If one helmet can do the above reasonably well, do you have reccomendations? Preferably under about 50 bucks or so.
Pic related is the Bell Segment, but because of the construction of the foam, I have my doubts of it's actual helmet use. Stuff like the Protec Ace and many of its derivatives use just a soft foam that I also have my doubts as to if it's more than just a "bump" helmet for urbanex or tacticool use.
I have a Bell Faction that seems OK other than the fact that even in size Large, it seems too small. I've looked at snowboard helmets and I've found a few of those that fit nicely (like the Smith Holt and a few Giros) but those are more costly.
>>989089
You wear a helmet when you boulder?.........
>>989089
Each disciplines helmets are designed for their particular hazards. You're not going to have adequate protection using a climbing helmet for cycling etc.
tl:dr buy multiple helmets for each sport you intend on doing
Can someone tell me what kind of plant this is?
It is from NJ and l found it growing in my backyard. Is it for animals to eat?
