A thread to discuss about Econo-Pocket-Rockets.
>What is a "Hot Hatch"?
A Hot Hatch is a manufacturer produced, performance oriented variant of a standard hatchback, designed for improved handling, increased top speed, acceleration and generally enhance the driving experience.
>Are all Hot Hatches FWD?
No. Whilst most Hot Hatches are FWD, some are AWD or even RWD.
>Isn't FWD shit?
No. Just because you can't get the arse out by stamping on the accelerator doesn't mean you can't have fun.
>Aren't Hot Hatches just for Europoors?
No; with the launch of the Fiesta and Focus ST in the US, it seems like the Hot Hatch is beginning to take off on the other side of the Atlantic, but Europoors definitely have more choice.
>Is the Fiesta ST actually good?
The Fiesta ST is one of the best small hot hatches on offer at the minute; so yeah they're pretty good.

It's growing on me.
It's still gonna have to be properly good for me to trade my current ST for it.
What do you like about your car?
What do you not like?
>>17214339
I like that it goes fast and looks good and sounds good
I dislike that it's temperamental and will cost me a small fortune when I need to rebuild it's engine
It's pretty fun to drive.
I do dislike that there's no seat memory. Whenever someone else drives it, I have to fuck around until I get it back the way I like it.

2000 GT with ~146k miles, new coils but stalls at almost every stop and has a rough idle. What's the problem?
>>17213572
Probably a dead airflow sensor.
>>17213597
could it possibly be the spark plugs?
It was manufactured by Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) sometime between 1999 and 2000.
Ugly cars.

Backroad paved "highways" in the wet.
Speed limit 55 with 15mph turns due to town and range. It gets pretty hektik.

wha happened to your toe
I just got a job detailing cars and start tomorrow. Anybody got tips on detailing?
Don't pee on it.
Wax on, wax off
Towels (even microfiber) leave streaks without lubrication. Drying a car with a dry towel is the work of Satan (if he were real and a bad guy). You'll probably be told to do it to every car though.
Start at the top, go down.
It's all about the details.
Thoughts on these wheels? They're 1500 bucks shipped from japan.
Looks good OP, for that price better be lighter than stock ones
>>17211277
1500 each?
They look kind of niggish, not worth it even if they are 1500 for a full set.
What does /o/ think of kit-cars? Worthless timesinks, or the gateway to true /o/tism?
probably a ton of fun if you have the money and time to invest in them
Very few actually get finished
Like most kits from any hobby, they are never as straightforward as they claim to be and most likely will require fabrication/modification
Resale is a pain, only worth it if you will hold on to it forever
I'm sure the brands that have been around like Superformance and Caterham make good kits. It's just so cheap to get a random shell of an already registered street car that a kit car doesn't appeal to me, you can get a great looking 60s American car and turn it into anything you want with whats out there these days.
>>17211104
it's like any kit, half the fun is the assembly. don't like assembling stuff?
Does /o/ ever "manual shift" in their automatics? Is it really the best of both worlds?
No and no. It's literally the worst of both worlds.
>>17211058
Fpbp. I haven't driven a single one that I've liked, they're all garbage.
>>17211041
i have one in my DD
never use it, its trash
my dads care have shift paddles and theyre a bit better
desu id rather have it in an automatic than not because the more the better right
I am looking into getting a Mustang. How would you rate your ride in comfort? Reliability? Pros and cons.
