the definition of a non reddit car is one which can accelerate you at AT LEAST the same rate as gravity. Can yours?
g = 9.81 m/s = 35.316 km/h
0-100 km/h would take gravity:
t = 100/35.316 = 2.83 seconds
Mazda rx8 does 0-100 in 6.2 seconds on a good day so fuck off
>>17246767
I think it is bait for a tesla joke. Or something. Either way it is bait.
>>17246767
You stupid fuck. Gravity is not in m/s, but it's in m/s^2. You are literally the dumbest anyone has ever been. g is acceleration, NOT VELOCITY.
But be gentle it has autism
P.s. his name is speedy tm
Speedy/10
Who would win, speedy or m3?

mr furcumrag is itsuki because he thinks he knows anything at all about cars, thinks it's easy to just slap a turbo on an engine, and is a shitty driver that spins out at 5mph

What does /o/ think of Ford Capri's?

They're a 323 with the roof cut off.
Get an MX5, much better car.

My son is buying his first car, and wants my advice. However, I'm not much of a car guy, so I told him I'd ask some friends.
Budget is $2500, but ideally around $2000 so I can use the $500 for title and other such necessities.
Currently deciding between:
Used 2002 Hyundai Accent GL
$1,750
132,101 mi.
Engine: 1.6L I4 16V MPFI DOHC
OR
Used 2004 Chevrolet Classic Base
$1,950
132,960 mi
Engine: 2.2L I4 16V MPFI DOHC
Like I said, sorry, not much of a car guy. If this is a stupid easy choice, please let me know.
As a parent, looking for safety know-how, as well as how long this thing is gonna last him.

Awesome 80's aesthetic (especially zenki models)
VG30E has parts available out the ass
Easy to work on (I did all my own maintenance with mine) especially compared to the Z32
>Cons
A little on the chubby side
I personally like working on Nissan's I6 L series engines more than their V6's
(may not be a con for some) More creature comfort than a driver's car should have imo. Hell, I'd even say it's a little bit on the luxobarge side, but not entirely.
>>17246309
Z32 is better in a lot of ways but if you really want a 31 get a 200zr

Does anyone know anything about Porsche Boxsters? I'd like to buy a 2001-2002 model S for a weekend car. I live near the mountains so something small, nimble, and convertible appeals to me.
>>17245959
they're good.
I chose mrs cause it has less to go wrong with it and its cheaper to fix if it does and its light as shit.
>>17245989
I didn't ask about the MRS
>>17245959
I too am looking for a Box S. I think it's probably a riot to own and drive and also I believe it will appreciate in value. I've driven a non-S a couple of times and that was still fun so I can only imagine what the experience is like slapped with the power paddle
Find an example with either a rebuilt engine or just extensive service records. NO PREVIOUS MODS. Some owners have done the IMS already, which I thought only plagued the 996 but I was wrong. I live in MA but I'm looking for an S in Arizona or some other state without rust. Limited access to the engine is about as tough as you think it'd be
My sweet spot is 2001 Boxster S, not red or silver, 70k-80k miles, IMS done, proof of 60k service done, $10k-$13k in the Midwest. Been looking for four months, with varying success (I'm in no rush)
You got any specifics?
Hi /o/
I'm currently converting a 1991 SW20 MR2 to all wheel drive, using a cosworth MT75 gearbox, and running the diff upside down.
The engine I'll be using a nissan VQ35, which I will be destroking to 2litres for rally regulations, and will be using a single IHI Turbine.
I'm currently cutting the transmission tunnel, and my angle grinders a peice of shit, does anyone have any tips here? I've got through 6 of these fucking wafer thin discs so far, all they do is snap into peices.
>Pic related, its the tunnel I'm cutting out the car. Its where the fuel tank would normally be but I'll be running one single carbon fibre fuel cell in the passenger footwell.
Fuck that shit, good luck OP
>>17245926
When are you going to finish this piece of shit project you lazy faggot it's been years yet you keep talking about it and you're still working on the tunnel
Considering all the garbage we get on this forum, as a community we should only push for their success. Good on you op. It might take 15 years but at least you're doing something.
Hey guys, Doug DeMuro here, anyone want to let me drive their expensive car? haha just kidding, I know everyone on here drives shitboxes

>>17245805
Please don't swear in my thread my mom checks my phone.
i'm looking to get a new sports car
i made a thread with a strawpoll a couple weeks or so ago
http://archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/17171004/#17171004
but i have made a few conclusions
>testarossas are going up in value so fast that i may not be able to snatch one in an acceptable condition soon enough
>gt350's are hard to get and the current gen mustang has a disadvantage with it's chassis and it feels pretty big to maneuver (although i've only ever driven the ecoboost and gt)
i've narrowed my choices down to the porsche 996 gt3 and camaro zl1 1le
gt3's are considered the epitome of handling in an automobile but the new camaros drive so well that the ss 1le and regular zl1 have received high praise from motor trend
i'm just wondering if anyone on this board has been able to get behind the wheel of both a porsche 996 and a current gen camaro and could tell me their experiences and which car they prefer.....bonus points if you've driven the gt3 and zl1
i personally think the zl1 is a better option especially for future mods and matince costs
>>17245800
jesus *maintenance
I'd be embarrassed to drive that camaro just my opinion. Show the 996 some love.
Friendly reminder that the second greatest car Ford has ever build was an Escort.
>the second best car Ford can make is a shitbox
Really makes me laugh
>>17245764
>>17245766
Absolute degeneracy.
We need formula racing with no downforce again. Modern F1 can stay, but there should be another formula racing category where the only rule is only mechanical grip may be used. Imagine that, like just look at the beauty of these 60s F1 cars
yeah but then the racing would be slower with less strategy and less engineering prowess.
Maybe we can go back to weekly deaths on the track as well.
>>17245606
Obviously the cars would be slow as fuck around corners compared to modern F1 and obviously they'd be less advanced, that's the point. But imagine how fast they could go on straights with no wings and how overtaking would be so much easier around corners with no wings making dirty air.
