Should I get a Hyundai Veloster or a Honda CR-Z? Used they're about the same price points but leaning towards the Veloster (not turbo). What do you guys think?
If you're genuinely considering the Veloster, your mother should have aborted you

>>17315665
Non turbo velosters are fine, just don't expect to go fast. Crz will probably last longer though.

Is there some kind of trick for mounting the thermostat gasket on correctly? I can't get it to stop leaking
Clean the old gasket remains you mongrel

I'm doing that now but I don't think it'll make a difference. It was leaking pretty bad
What's /o/'s thoughts on this car?

Three previous owners, all local VA/MD. Service records from Chevy dealers.
Two questions...
1. What would be a reasonable asking price?
2. How hard are these to daily with speed bumps, angled driveways, and rain etc? I want to actually drive the damn thing and not have it be some garage bitch.
>>17315125
Why would rain matter?
slower than a civic around the ring lol
So someone hit my car last night while I had it parked on the street. Anyone know how hard this would be to fix and make look decent or how much it would cost to get someone to do it without paintwork.
>>17314917
>>17314923
Damn, that's quite a dent.
I have something similar on my Honda shitbox which I'm going to tackle myself using Harbor Freight stud welder, slide hammer, and bondo. If you go that route, you have to sand down the areas to weld on the studs, which is okay with me because I was planning to repaint the car anyways.
Chances are that's what a shop will do. No idea how much they'll charge but I can easily see it being over 1k.
Maybe you should consider using your insurance provided you have it.
>>17314917
>>17314923
Your paint is cracked, it needs to be repainted.
Does your insurance policy have comprehensive? aka hail damage, tree falling, hit and run?
If not, go get it now. Keep this damage quiet, file a claim in 3 months, might need to submit a police report.
Otherwise looks about $800 worth of body work, maybe more.
>only three more months
>>17314153
Wow, only new shit is a stupid body kit and louder exhaust.
Its fucking nothing...
This'll hopefully push down the resale value of the lower spec BRZs

kek, what is it, 1990 ?
Yo! So I want to pick up a new hobby it's most likely going fixing up a car. Looking to getting a 240z and swapping that bitch out. I would like to do all the work myself but thing is I know some about cars just not enough to do the swap . Where can I get my knowledge up about car engines , and turbos . Appreciate everything in advance

The market is already crowded and brand loyalty is a devious nigger.
>>17312673
Market is also crowded with great cars from toyota so the trust from returning or new bikers with a competitve price tag woud lure new customers its do able desu
>>17312643
A company like honda makes motors for appliances and such, so it's not hard for them to redirect efforts towards motorcycles
Toyota however just makes cars and would have to open an entirely new development team

Is leasing a good idea? Just about everyone I know does it but it doesn't seem to make sense to me. Aren't you just renting a car for 3 years? Is there any investment at all?
>>17311681
Leasing is amazing because you'll always have a recent model car. When your lease is up, just get another lease. It's a great deal for safe, fuel-efficient, and reliable modern vehicles.
>>17311761
Cuck's mentality.
>I let other men lease my wife
>>17311681
>Is there any investment at all?
What investment? How old are you? The whole point of leasing is to have a nice modern car on warranty/insurance and not bother with the selling/reselling every so often. Private leasing is usually worse than financing, however b2b leasing allows you to write off tax and save both time and money.
