This, and also what purpose. Want to go fast in a straight line? Want maximum comfort? Want something to set stupid fast laptimes? Want to be able to take it anywhere, roads be damned?
Just picked up a bmw 128i 2008, anything I should watch out for? Live in Canada btw.
Snow. Considering that it's NA, not much other than typical bimmer repairs. Enjoy the inline balance and power
Yeah, got the wrong engine

Bears. Plenty of then in Leafland.
Getting a German car.
E350 4Matic Coupe or Sedan
535i xDrive
A6 Quattro
All 2013 model years.
I'm leaning heavily towards the Mercedes. I like its styling and interior the most and I thought it had the nicest features. I didn't like anything on the Audi more than the Mercedes and the only thing the BMW had that I like was the cooled seats, which the Mercedes didn't have.
I guess my question is, can anyone tell me their ownership experience with any of these cars? My gut feeling seems to fall in line with what I've read online. Mercedes are reliable, BMW can be fine or a nightmare and Audi falls in the middle. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Mercedes had a terrible period in the early 2000s but seems to have gotten their shit back together, BMW is probably the most fun to drive, don't even bother with "luxury" VW.
Do you care about driving and fun? Get the BMW
If not - Mercedes
mercedes benz is for old people, they drive like a fat kid on a bicycle, and they're just boring imo. audis are just plushy Volkswagens and are kind of chubby looking.
bimmers are fun to drive but the year you mentioned can be a nightmare in terms of reliability if the previous owner didn't take care of it.
my opinion: get a new mazda 6 touring or grand touring, since they're sexy
>clean and detail my truck for a hour
>have to park it on a dirt parking lot for work
>windy and dusty everyday
why bother.
>>17366407
Because I just got it and it has a badass paint job and rims
>>17366424
It's a truck tho... You paint your nails too?
>30 minutes from home with a stuck front brake pad
What can I do?
>>17366220
you can get home with 3 brakes ive gotten home with 2 before no big deal
>>17366220
WOT the whole way then watch it catch fire directly in front of your house
If you've got a large enough hitting stick, try giving the caliper a good twat
Fixed my issue until I got it to a garage, but that was an E-brake fault not a normal brake fault
>>17366188
How'd I do /o/?
>>17366011

>>17365233
Neither can you.
Can someone red pill me on how the fuck I am supposed to hook up my hose to this air compressor?
These are the connections I have
Red pill is becoming a very loose term now. Epic memes.
>>17364810
The top right looks like the normal pneumatic connector, attach your hose to it an push it in the compressor's socket
Why are people so obsessed with this piece of shit? What is the appeal of "classic cars"? It's model train tier autism.
>>17364737
>faster than a BRZ
Why does /o/ like Japanese sports cars from the early 90s even though they're overpriced by several thousand when not completely ruined?
Why not just finance a new car, or buy a used car from 2007+ for the same amount of money?
>15 year old who 'likes cars' has Lamborghini/Bugatti FB cover photo
>middle aged white collar worker tells you how he 'upgraded his reliable 90s ecobox to slush box that brakes the day the warranty runs out
>older relatives who have an 'interest' in car ask when your going to buy a newer car
Why the fuck do these half car people think that a newer car is better? Do they enjoy paying to have a mechanic use a computer to turn off a warning light that's broken? Do they like simple systems not working because the miles of wire that connect to the under powered electric motor break or the shitty plastic parts snap? Do they not realise that simple cars have less to break? That used cars don't half in value by the time you sell?
>>17364665
>buy a 90's corolla
>owner had full service log, car is immaculate
>everyone i know starts making a huge drama
>hur y no get new corola it beter 2016 blutooth phone
>trying to explain that the recent corollas have new engines and no one really knows how reliable they're gonna be in the long run
>also the new corollas are fucking giant
>u fukc idiot engine dont explode it new car
angery
>buy myself a MK3 Turbo Supra
>21 and live in England, this is probably the coolest first car anyone has ever bought
>my friends all think it's awesome
>housemate's girlfriend who's parents just bough her a brand new Fiat 500:
>'wow anon it's cool haha but wouldn't you want a much nicer newer car?'
As an owner of 20yo japcrap and having a gookshit in family for 9 years, both with same mileage (320,000km) I'll tell you hwhat. When you can't order normal wheel bearing because most companies stopped making them, and you have to buy some random shit which may broke after 10kkm or buy OEM for half worth of your car, then you consider changing to something new. You or I won't stop it, older car gonna be for people, who just throw money into their classic. Also, remember that there are people who need car for their work and cannot risk, that some fucker didn't tell them that car has some problem that can immobilize your car and you will be late for lecture worth few thousand dollars. If I had to buy new car, I would just stick with basic trim, I don't care about Bluetooth 17.1 speakers and dick-massaging seat, I just want comfy car (unless you can't get best engine without TAKING THIS XXXL OPTION WITH BRAKE, SUSPENSION AND MASTURBATION ASSIST REEEEEEEEE).
Oh and this "shitty" Kia took 300kkm without major problem (only one I remember, was wiper stopped working, around 80kkm, new works to this day).
if you could eat any car, what would it be?
a car made out of pizza
Objectively the best fruit
i meant eat in any car.
Hey dudes. I'm buying a 2006 Impala SS tomorrow! I'm getting it for a really good deal through a friend who was the first and only owner. It's been babied to shit and it's in really good condition. Aside from the FWD, it's pretty fun. Will post more pics if requested. Do any of you have experience with this car? Also, AMA, I guess.
>>17364280
Don't these grenade the transmissions because >FWD V8 and >torks?
>>17364280
I own a W-body Impala but its with the newer V6 6-speed auto instead of 4-speed found in your SS.
Supposedly these things would destroy their transmissions because the transverse V8 put into them was more than the trans could handle even scaled back. they were pretty damn cool sleepers with 0-60 in around 6 seconds.
Pretty sure yours would be find if you don't push it too hard and its likely what your friend did.
Watch the transmissions on these, they really weren't suited to handle the V8's torque and they go out fairly often. Don't do skids like a mad cunt.
Come to think of it, I remember a newtrip from a few years back that got the Pontiac version of this car. I gave him the same warning about hooning it, which he promptly ignored. Last I heard he glasses the trans and had to sell it...
Ive been looking around a lot and i would absolutely love a ford ranger from between 1980-1999. I dont have too much maintenance knowledge so id like some advice about whether or not this is a difficult truck to keep running for not too much money.
>>17364275
that truck is beautiful, how hard is it to make a modern square 2 door pick up
>>17365256
>how hard is it to make a modern square 2 door pick up
nobody-will-buy-it hard
>>17365259
truck noob, I don't really get the appeal of a two door truck. If it's a work vehicle, and you're trying to cram it full of workers to get to a job site, why wouldn't you want more doors?
And if it's a tow vehicle, you want more seats for more people to go to the dunes or camping or the track or whatever, right?
