Does /o/ like Car Talk?
No.
But mom is obsessed with this show.
Why can't I buy this???

because it's too heavy and expensive, they said so right on the video.
I'll start:

/ thread
What does /o/ think about my cars?
>>17368295
ones a van and the others a fag mobile
>>17368295
are you the guy who said he dailys a ford transit because he got it really cheap
>>17368308
I don't think so. I paid full sticker price for mine
Where is the based VIN checking dude at?
Oc pic unrelated
Have you ever used youtube to help repair your car?
Since an ATV has a wet clutch and the motor and transmission all work off the same oil can I just mix motor oil and transmission fluid and put in it?
>>17368094
For fucks sake no.
Why? It's not like real ATV oil is even expensive. Wal-Mart has it for like $4 a quart, Valvoline even
Yes, this works 100%. It's works so well in fact, you should go do it right now. Your ATV will thank you for it
*More like this*
so /o/, when i was young my father used to own one of those old gray ford rangers, it was the first car I've driven, which made me a gigantic fordaboo
brings me to the question; why do people shit on the F150 so much?
and why the hell is it called a cucktruck?
>>17367988
>>17367988
Because the F-150 sells like hot cakes which means 90% of its driverbase are mall crawlers and women that will never need to utilize the bed or the towing capacity.
The truck itself isn't bad, but it gets a reputation as being babby's first manly vehicle.
>>17367988
Because if it's not a $2000 craigslist shitmobile or you're not a full time construction worker who hauls concrete 24/7 you have no reason to own a full size truck apparently
>>17368007
This. The type of car you have should go hand in hand with your occupation and lifestyle. Most of /o/ is right on target by riding the bus.
Can I get a revpill on BMW diesel cars? Anyone ever owned one?
>>17367831
BMW is overweight and has terrible reliability
Stay the FUCK away
>>17367837
Even the diesels? I thought diesel engines were known for regularly going hundreds of thousands of miles more than gasoline engines.
>>17367831
why would you care about gas milage if you're buying a bmw
is it true driving in the rain will make my car dirty? i was always under the impression that tons of water hitting the car at 100kmh+ will clean out all the little spots or the rain gutters
also car wash thread i guess
>>17367803
Rain isn't really that clean.
Neither is the road mud you splash through.
>>17367817
>Rain isn't really that clean.
why not?
Are rebuilt and salvage cars good?
>>17367777
Checked
No. They're shit.
Yes
>>17367777
Depends on why they were salvaged. A flood car with ruined carpet can be ok, but most wrecked salvage cars aren't repaired right.
What is the best way to learn about cars? I know the bare minimum.
>>17367700
Browse /o/
Everything you read on here is gospel truth

Buy any mass produced shitbox from the 90s along with a matching haynes manual and start wrenching
Don't seek it out, just watch/read about car related stuff, and every time you hear a word or topic you don't understand, read up on it.
my introduction to the miata as anything but a neutered wannabe sports car for hair dressers was basically brought up to speed on this board. i admit i was unfairly a hater of these cars and thought the dudes driving them were lame.
but now i realize that is a normie POV. i really really like the look of the new mx-5 hardtop, but with all the option i want is over $40k (maple syrup dollars), and i cant get over that price with only a 4cyl.
i realize that price is fairly decent for a car in the current year, but isnt it possible to put a stock supercharger on these or put in a v6? why do manufacturers like toybaru or mazda make these great cars and then have the achilles heal of being just too damn slow?
or is it an intelligent engine choice based on weight, chassis, and marketability? im not saying i dislike or have any reason to hate on one. im considering getting one new, and i previously said i would NEVER buy a new car off the lot in this day and age. but its just a really nice looking car and without driving it yet, i get the impression it is great to learn on and handles like a dream.
lets just talk about this beauty. i would love to have one to be able to school bmw and supercars on the track. basically what i want to know is, on certain tracks (tight, twisty) can a tuned mx5 like the race one in the video, driven by a very competent racer, be competitive against a 550hp lamborghini driven by your average youtuber?
i basically want a car that i can truly show that driver ability trumps all at the track.
Heard about it? Getting impressions?
Learning about it from /o/??
My friend, just visit a local racetrack or canyon meet, jump in a well put-together Miata, THEN formulate an opinion.
I guarantee you'll have many questions answered. Oh and
>can a tuned mx5 like the race one in the video, driven by a very competent racer, be competitive against a 550hp lamborghini driven by your average youtuber?
Abso-fucking-lutely.
See that often at Willow Springs Racetrack.
>It's too slow!
You want fast you pay for fast, man.
Factory option, you pay for the option
Mods and swaps, you pay for the parts (and maybe the labor)
High power stock, you pay for the extra gas/maintenance/insurance
$5k craigslist miata, you have fun anyways.
maybe it's not the car that's slow, but you.
>1993 Honda Civic for sale at auction
>Was originally priced for about 250$
>Price hasn't moved for over a week
>Might be able to take for under 500$
>Have no idea if it works or not
Should I take the bait /o/, or am I wasting my money?
Is it worth it /o/?
>>17367686
If it doesn't run most places buy vehicle for scrap for around $750 where I'm at. It would be a hassle but you shouldn't lose out. You'll probably break even minus your time.
First and final bump for the chance of more replies.
You could make some money selling it for parts
