Hey guys, I hope this is the right board to post this on.
I'm replacing an instrument cluster in my vehicle, which I have never done, and I am curious if all the gauges and stuff reset automatically when it's put in.
It's a 2003 vehicle so it's not a new fancy cluster. I know the odometer will not be correct automatically because it's digital, but I really don't care about that. I just want to make sure that the arms of dials for the speedometer and all that will work properly.
>>17372800
Yes it's plug and play. Have it programmed to the correct mileage.
>>17372808
What if I'm ordering it from someplace that doesn't program them? It's not a huge deal that it doesn't work, but I am curious as to how I would get it set without going through a manufacturer.
>>17372832
Dealers can do it
Is there a way to avoid them?
What are giveaway signs of a speed trap or undercover car?
Are radar systems legal?
>>17372795
heres a protip for you.Always drive 15 under the limit so you can never fall victim to a speed trap
>>17372795
Trap them before they trap you.
Dress up as a girl
They will assume you are one of them and let you pass
Should I look into one of those buttplug looking FN2 Civic type r?
used to hate the look but it's growing on me.
would it feel like a downgrade/upgrade from a 2004 wrx?
>>17372728
Yes. It will feel like a downgrade. Coming. From an ep3r, the fn2 feels very numb. The ride is very stiff, and because the gear ratios are so short you'll be sitting past 3k on highways.
Get an ep3r. Because this just feels like a ecobox that revs to 8k.
>>17372728
Oh Christ, is that the new Civic they're debuting?
>>17372874
it's the fat vaping spic
Does anyone know a good place in Toronto to rice up your car? I'm specifically interested in some sort of interior glow mod for my civic because I want to see the dash better at night.
buy a flashlight
>>17372702
problem solved
>>17372678
Walmart sells LED strips just buy some of them.
Can someone explain to me how a car moves. Im pretty sure its powered by the giant propeller in the front as seen in pic related. The fan must act the same as a plane propeller right ?
>>17372520
Propelled by exhaust gasses from the tailpipe. Like a jet
>>17372539
but i have stood behind a car before when its driving, the exhaust gases arent compressed enough for that
Is there a legal linit to how loud I could have my car horn?
Go for the gold and get 200 dB on your horn
>>17372383
27000. (a) A motor vehicle, when operated upon a highway, shall be equipped with a horn in good working order and capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than 200 feet, but a horn shall not emit an unreasonably loud or harsh sound and a motor vehicle shall not be equipped with an aftermarket horn that emits a sound greater than 110 dB(A). An authorized emergency vehicle may be equipped with, and use in conjunction with the siren on that vehicle, an air horn that emits sounds that do not comply with the requirements of this section.
Hiro has permitted us to have 1 thread about how to improve the board. So /o/, how do we improve the board?
hi /o/ someone in my area is selling a 2016 dodge viper with 800 miles. the issue is that it is a salvage title. luckily there is a video of its crash it does not look to bad IMO, but i dont know much about cars. price tag is 72 K what price should a car like this go for? here is the car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3GhhqMksY4
>>17372063
I would have a reputable mechanic and body worn specialist inspect the car from head to toe. If no real issues are found I would pay over 30k.
>>17372063
did they fix the door? and other stuff? or are you going to be buying it with the damage?
the reason being, replacing that shit gets expensive quick, especially on cars like vipers.
>>17372082
car is all fixed i dont need to do any work
Ask someone who owns a 2004 Dodge Dakota anything
pic related
I own a 2003 Dodge Dakota and I'm also open to questions
>>17372010
How many times a month do you change the ball joints?
>>17372040

Just sold my first car. It was a total price of shit, but I miss her already.
You're a bitch
>>17372005
That actually made me feel better, thanks
>>17371999
U made a mistake. Find her dude, we will help you.
Probably one of the best options to go for, Benz C43 AMG:
- Amazing tech
- Great interior
- With performance packages brings you up to about 70k
>>17371987
>C43
Why? You can get a 1-2 year old CLS63 AMG S for under $100k
>>17371987
>70k
>buying new
You could have a nice e46 m3 for around 20k and a v12 s class for another 30. Combining these two extremes is retarded.
> Get in 2011 Chrysler 200 Limited Auto 3.6 L Pentastar
> Start it Up, apply brake, shift to reverse, reverse
> apply brake, shift to drive, release brake slowly
> /GRINDING SOUND/ until the breke is released
> If I release the brake quickly, it's a quick /GRINDING SOUND/
> /GRINDING SOUND/ only heard during, and for the entire duration of me releasing the brake. Fast or slow
WTF IS THIS SHIT
Will post high quality sluts for answers thanks Br/o/s

Dear /o/, Not gonna lie, second-time poster here. I'd like to call myself a bit of a car enthusiast. I'm currently working on an Astra 1.4 Club (it's my first car and it's extremely economic), and I'm considering fitting it with a twincharger system. Alternatively, I can buy a Volvo 850 20V 2.0 1995 with 110k miles on the clock, and do this one up real nice with some new rims and treads and repaint with front and rear spoilers. So my question to you is this: would you recommend spending more time on my Astra H, with only 65k miles or the Volvo 850, with 110k? Thanks, Cam

>>17371900
No, leave it alone without all that shit. It's not the right cat to invest all that Mickey Mouse work. Just buy another car to enjoy and leave current as commuter
Should I as first car?
>manual
>diesel
>140k km
>4.5k euro can probably lower to 4.3k

Just listen for the rear subframe lol
>>17371905

>>17371886
Sure, why not
>Buy a new car
>Pay extra for things I don't need for the car
>Have car depreciate as soon as I drive away from the dealership
>Get financially ruined by massive price
>Car is completely souless
>Car dies the day after the warranty expires
>Buy a used car
>Smells like smoke and semen
>Previous owner didn't take care of it
>Get financially ruined by repairing problems the previous owner caused
>Car makes horrible noises
>Car dies rotting in a ditch
>>17371622
Aww poor bubbie
>>17371622
