>car got stolen
I need a new car in the next 24 hours
not sure what i want been browsing cars all day
>narrow it down to low milage is basically all im looking for
but i dont want to buy a car that i will be stuck with, in the long run, because i know i want and what i want is out of my price range right now
What do?
Buy a shitbox now and save?
or buy a shit box and slowly build it to what i want
idk i dont want to rush buying it but i do have 24 hours to buy a car and im panicking
i just dont want a typical shit box that looks like a typical 2k shit box, if i go with my first option of buying a shit box i want something that looks clean any advice? cars are really hard to find, and the more i search i just keep seeing different price range for example
>2k for a 90s camry that looks clean but high milage
>1.5k for a 90s camry that looks like shit but with low milage
keeps fucking me up
You're buying a car for 2k? I'm assuming on craigslist?
For such a short time span and low price I'd honestly just buy the Camry/Accord/Civic/Corolla that seems the most reliable regardless of looks. Just save for when you can actually buy a cooler car, but keep the shitbox so you don't have to rush buying a car again if one gets stolen or screwed up.

Get yourself a small pickup truck. Will be reliable and easy enough to work on without putting too much of a hole in your wallet.
>99 WRX STI version 6 MY00
>$11500
>114000 miles
Should I be suspicious?
Just bought a Mitsubishi I Car.
It's turbo.
When it is cold it burns blue smoke but eventually when it warms up it all dissipates and even goes away completely when the rev's are up.
Any ideas as to what is causing it?

valve seals slowly leak oil from the head into the combustion chamber when the car isn't running
probably expensive as fuck to have it fixed, just put oil in it
Hey guys do you have any idea what the fuck could have happened to my Miata?
>driving like any other day
>floor it up a huge hill
>hear some weird knocking or clapping sound from my front wheels
>ok.jpg maybe a rock got caught or something in the wheel well
>look at my thermostat a minute later
>at H
>hear some bubbling noise
>god damn it I knew I should have installed that thermostat gasket better
>pop hood
>gasket is completely fine
What the fuck is going on
LOLLLLLL look what I found

For you busriding faggots that can't tell, that is my alternator belt sitting on my splash guard and it's completely shredded.
Nice thread you got there

>>17385136

Ripped a fart
Just wondering what you guys think of this motor im putting it in a mark 2 corona
>>17384758
dont like the car but ive heard good things about the engine
its a cool car and a cool engine but dont put an sr20 in it yeah
carbed four or nothing
>>17384758
Don't think it would be worth it or seem right, needs a more calm cruising engine.
Is a Maaco paint job any good? I don't need something show quality, just something that will last good for 3-4 years. I want to repaint my car the same color ( red ).
>>17384740
It'll last 2 years at most.
>>17384740
Usually they fuck it up or just don't try as hard and takes forever for it to be done. But yeah do it, last 5 years tops.
My advice to you is if your lazy don't do it
If your not lazy then do it but make sure you do as much pre body work as possible I.E sanding the old paint off getting it ready to be painted etc
The guys at Maaco are as lazy as you are so the more you do for them before the paint job the better it will come out and the longer it will last
If you don't do these things you'll end up with an "orange peel" effect on your car like in pic related
Pretty sure I totaled my car last night. /o/ please help me find a replacement! Looking to spend upto 10k.
Post what you think I should get from my local Craigslist, auto trader or similar. Must be within 100 mile radius.

This isn't a super serious thread. Just thought it'd be fun plus I can see what's out there that I might not think to look for.
3k civic
>have to drive across state in a couple days
>it's supposed to be 90 degrees and storming
>A/C doesn't work
>none of my power windows work for various reasons
>windshield wipers only work on medium

> Brummmms like an early 19'th century tractor because 3cylinder hyundai diesel
> Driving through cities, people stop and look at me because it sound like they are gonna get moved down by a WW2 tank
AC is broken, but at least the power windows work
>>17384699
I'm the same as you but it's a boxer so people probably think I make it sound like this on purpose. I get a lot of dirty looks

About to buy a 2017 Mercedes C43 AMG along with some upgrades next week. That will bring me around 70K in costs.
Any better options than this car that's under 100K?
>>17384617
Can't you get a C63 under 100k? It's pretty great I personally like the sedan more.
>>17384634
OP here, you definitely can but if you want good performance packages with the C63 that'll ride you up to about 100k not including taxes. My buddy tricked his C43 out and after taxes it was around 85-90k for him.
>>17384617
I'm jealous, I got a w204 C350 AMG with panoramic sunroof used about 1-2 years ago. It's the best handling car I've ever driven. I couldn't even imagine how good a new one would be.
Hi /o/. Is there anyone that can help me diagnose a wiring problem for my excavator? I have a scanned image of the wiring diagram if anyone wants to see it.
>mid engine
>manual
>plenty of switches for the bitches
>tracks
>muscle car orange
>can drift
Ill allow it. Proceed.
>>17384528
My problem is that the console gauges don't work. The mice ate the wiring at the harnesses to the computer. The wires have been repaired, tested, and everything worked. Then wrapped wiring harness with electrical tape and stopped working.
>>17384533
It doesn't appear as though the wiring to the computer harness are used by the fuel gauge.
>Hungry
>Nothing in fridge
>Nothing to drink
>Going to go to the store or a fast food joint
>Go to car
>Rear taillight barely lights, rear left turn signal broken
FUCK what do I do? I'm leaving this state next week and can't deal with a fix it ticket for this state right now, and the cops here will more likely than not fuck with me and make sure I have to go to court to fight it if they catch me (and they're always going up and down the street to the store). I don't have the money to get it fixed until after I leave the state and go back home (In college right now).
>>17384387
>Going out of state
>Doesn't have $5 for 2 lightbulbs
>>17384434
I'm in school out of my home state and going home Sunday.
I've changed the bulbs before but admittedly did forget it's that cheap. Still, I wouldn't be able to get them tonight because the store to get them from is closed.
>>17384387
>rear left turn signal broken
how so?
Fag that knows almost nothing about cars here. What's a good way to visually (no engine stuff because poorfag) modify an 07 Hyundai Tiburon without completely fucking it up? Or am I a moron for thinking it's possible?

Get a small wing
A paint job
Then take a fat shit on the hood.
No ricer stuff please
I see way too many ricers with this car. Keep it stock, clean and wax the headlights. Just detail the fuck out of it and you'll enjoy more than shitty mods and stickers
There are many ways to make a Tiburon look tacky, here are some things you can do to improve, but not rice:
- Polish headlight housings:
>...Take them off.
>...Wet-sand them in a sink, increasing grit from 400 to 2000.
>...Use PlastX or similar plastic polish until they look new again.
- Get wheels:
>...Clean-looking, simple design
>...Silver or gunmetal
>...16 or 17 inch diameter
- Remove badges / dealer stickers
>...Make sure the ones you remove are all attached with adhesive and won't leave holes.
- Maybe a front lip.
>Direct Ignition
So if I burn fuel in my intake manifold, does that make it indirect?
>>17384134
test it and find out
