Long story short, I inherited this car from a family member. Has some issues like a non-functional speedometer but that's easy to work around. The car sat for quite some time but I got it running and I use it to drive back and forth to work.
I'm getting intermittent surging when I'm around 30-50mph and the car will low RPM stall if I don't give it gas while stopped. Any ideas what could be causing the issue? I don't know much about cars but the Internet is telling me to check IAC, EGR, and fuel pump. My sister's boyfriend helped me quite a bit with it; he said one of the vacuum lines was cracked but he fixed that.
It's really not a bad car (~90,000 miles) and I can drive it, at least the 2 miles to work, back and forth everyday; it just stalls at lights and I'm already a severely anxious person when everything is working right. I'm not in a position to do much at this second but I can't imagine threads move quickly here; I can look into whatever is advised when I get home in about an hour.

Take off and clean throttle body and IAC
Not that hard usually but I don't know how difficult it will be for oldsmobile.
If it's intake manifold/egr clogged then you might need to take to mechanic instead
Hey guys, Murrican in need of advice here. I used to drive an 02 Jetta that needed expensive repairs frequently. Finally, someone slammed into me at highway speeds while I was still and my car was totalled. I survived with mild whiplash and decided to start looking at cars.
>tl;dr
Looking for a new car in the 3000 price range that wont screw me over financially. I really like pic related, but hear its tranny is awful. Japanese preferred. Also looked at prelude and civics. I want something that will be reliable for the price range and fun to drive. Thanks!
Also, if anyone has whiplash treatment advice, I'll take it. I've just been using ice packs

Civic.
Prelude if you can find a manual. I like the 4th gen ones
>>17394236
Acura 2.2 cl can also be found in manual if thats what you want.
So I'm trying to start this 1979 305 with a new holley 600, but it seems like it fires way too early and keeps the motor from cranking normally. I feel like it's just bad timing, any suggestions?

How hard would would be for me to get a Trabant into the US? I've heard it's pretty cheap and i think owning one as a DD would be just amazing since there one of the few imports that are cheap, easy to work on, interesting, and kindly be practical to an enthusiast like me
Just get a Honda acty if you want a slow interesting vehicle

>had to replace rear drum shoes on my focus to make parking brake work
>two routes, remove spindle nut from the outside or remove 4 bolts from the inside
>don't have a socket big enough for spindle so I go after the four smaller ones
>these bolts haven't been touched since the car was manufactured
>have to raise the car a stupid height to make room to swing my breaker bar to get these rusted cunts loose
>break one of them but get the drum/hub off
>replace shoes
>drill out the broken bolt, don't have a replacement and fucked up the hole anyway
>put it back together with only 3 corroded bolts and hope it'll hold while I order a new spindle for $11 and find some fresh bolts at lowes
>get new spindles in the mail (ordered one for each side cause I know the other will do the same thing or look just as bad)
>got new bolts, made sure they're the correct strength and everything
>got a socket big enough for that spindle nut
>gonna do the job right this time I tell you hwat
>get spindle nut off, drum won't remove
>google it
>"you can pry it off with two prybars or a puller but be careful because you might ruin the bearing in the process and have to replace that too"
>don't have a spare bearing
>going to see a Miata tomorrow in hopes of replacing this piece of junk
>can't jeopardize that mission
>put my shitbox back together and go inside for the day
But the worst feel of all

What's that body part of the car (CLS to be specific) called in English, the little square just down the lights?

I have a 1974 chevy 3 speed column shifter. I did an engie swap a while ago and spilled all of the gear oil in the process. Now I cant find the filler plug. On the side opposite to the linkage there's a 1/2'' male plug, and that's about it. On top a little closer to the tail is a round nub that feels like it has a flathead fitting, is that the filler? I don't think it is since it's such a pain to get to.
Help?

It should be the plug on the right side that's about halfway up the side. It could be either male or female

My carb needle was messed up and gas got into my oil. Should I do anything special to clean out the crankcase or just change the oil normally?
Pls help /o/ searching google just turns up unrelated results about the oil industry contaminating waterways.
Just change your oil. Whatever tiny amount of gasoline left in the engine once you drain the oil will evaporate. Hell, unless your engine dumped all the excess fluid the gas will probably evaporate out of the oil without changing it.
Better flush your engine with water to clean out all that fuel.

what i still dont understand is why Jordan Taylor decided to run through a chicane? It wasn't like his vehicle was bogged down yet
What is so great about the 911 GT3? On paper, they really aren't that interesting. Is it one of those "you have to drive one to understand" memes?

exactly that. I have never driven a porsche until my friend let me drive his 997 turbo and that had PDK and it was fucking amazing.
