I bought one of these, what should I expect?
what car is that?
massive depreciation and questionable long-term build quality
>>17427956
damnit, well i'm stuck with it for the long run so I guess i'll enjoy it while it lasts.
I'll start.

>ITT: Asshurt the model S is the fastest car on the planet
lol
>>17427942
the things top speed is lower than my hyundai's. Quick would be the correct word, but even then it's not the quickest car on the planet, maybe just mass production car.
People being faggots on the road thread?
Post pics, vids , webms etc of shit you got
What the fuck am I watching?? Why are people just standing on the side of the road filming this shit?

Driving mustang for years, never lost control like this and I gun it a lot
Built suspension, welded subrame, sticky tires and proper control
How the fuck does every other mustang driver always seem to lose control?
>>17427655
Mustang is a popular car, idiot normies buy it for image, never learn to drive properly.

don't visit here often but would like advice.
Basically a 350z 2006 is up for sale for 8k but 173k miles...
No check engine light, test drove it and feels solid, no rattling noises in the engine and exhaust sounds fine. Any thoughts? Buying from a dealership btw.
>>17427560
Anyone have experience with this car at this amount of miles?
if its from a dealer dont be a cuck and make sure you get it for at most 7k, you can definetly get it for that price just dont accept anytthing higher, it doesnt matter if you go full autismo they will sell for that price
>>17427577
Do you know when the engines start to get shitty tho?
Traded in my CTS-V Coupe for a Focus RS today.
How'd I do /o/?
>>17427409
Any reason why?
>>17427421
Right now I have a mk6 GTI for a second car and I'm moving to a place with only 1 parking spot. The CTS-V doesn't work well for me as an only car and the mk6 gti is too boring for an only car.
The CTS was a pretty awesome car though and I will definitely miss it. Focus RS is a ton of fun too though, at least so far.
>>17427437
I'm guessing the CTS sedan wasn't an option?
After 2 years here, I still have no idea what a shitbox is. Is it a dirty / rusty car? Is it a very old car? Is it slow car?
Is it context dependent?
I've seen new BMW X1s with 10k mi on them be called "shitboxes". I've also seen generally spotless and high power Mustang foxbodies also called shitboxes. All I know is that the only car that is not a shitbox is a Twingo for some raisin.
What makes a car a shitbox and do you drive one, anon?
>>17427359
It has no set definition. An owner can call any car of theirs a shitbox here as a joke. A car can be a legitimate shitbox, being rusty, cheap, in need of other repairs, etc. A car made to be cheap a to b transportation like the Micra can be called a shitbox.
any car older than oh say 10 years is a shitbox
>>17427396
ueber shill bls go
Give me 5 good reasons why you would spend more money to get a GT86/BRZ/ instead of a Z4 coupe. The Beemer is better in literally every way apart from slight differences in cost of maintenance.
New car vs used car. A lot of people, myself included, like knowing the car was taken care of from day 1, and you can always get the exact color you want. I'd be buying a BRZ in the future if the 818 didn't have my heart.
>>17427312
Because most people, when they buy a car, buy at the very top of their budget and have these perfect utopian visions of their car never having problems and they'll keep it for at least 10 years and it's the perfect car.
Then, when they need some work after like, year 3, and the BMW work is a big bill, they flip shit and blame the dealer and the sales guy and the manufacturer and the porter and the car wash guy and the cashier and whoever just because they actually can't afford to own a BMW and they just bought at the absolute top of their budget.
>>17427331
>can't afford to own a BMW
This thread is aimed at Americans.
Do wings do anything at normal speeds or are they just for looks?
At street legal speeds, nothing.
>>17427262
They're just as effective for cars as they are for chickens
factory stock wings normally don't do anything but create drag, lowering your fuel efficiency
aftermarket wings that haven't been tuned to your car in a wind tunnel also do nothing
Wings that have been tuned to your car in a wind tunnel create downforce which you wont need unless you race or drive at illegals speeds on public roads.
so a while ago I posted a thread on whether I should get a civic or miata. So i started browsing Craigslist and i found 3 cars im interested in

>One of the biggest factors for me is how easy these cars are to work on and how cheap mods are. i mentioned it in my last thread but no one really gave me an answer so im emphasizing it here.
Please note that this car will be my daily. There are other civics around. I just picked that one as an example because its super cheap. Same for the miata however those are a little harder to find clean and a touch more expensive. The 240 however is the cleanest one ive found for under $5000 in about a year. also in case you couldn't figure it out I live in new england.
>Im super conflicted because i want something rear wheel drive because i want to try drifting, but civics look like such fun track cars and better dailies. help me please...

FFFFUUUUUUUU....
I MEANT INDECISIVE. HOW AM I MORE AUTISTIC THAN FUCKING CHRIS-CHAN?
I tried to buy a '93 Corvette but it sold before I could get my loan sorted out. So in order to avoid that in the future I'm going to save up until spring so I don't need a loan. BUT here is a decision I will have to make in spring: Do I go for another Corvette and leave it mostly stock or a Volkswagen Beetle, bolt on a bigger turbo, anti-lag system, suspension lift, gravel tires and make it a RallyX car. There are events in near by where I could drive it in anger. I think I'll do both eventually. Neither of these cars will be owned for life. I just want to experience different drive layouts from different nations in different motorsport. For reference First car: 2009 Kia Rio (sold) , Second Car: 2002 MR2 Spyder (current). I'm an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer and make a moderate amount of money. I need to cross off American, German, 4 wheel drive, ect. cars off the list eventually.

All I want is a clean vintage Mustang thats automatic and require less work
How much would you coons drop on a 9th generation civic si coupe thats about 3-4years old?
3k
>>17426742
Depends on the miles and condition.
Don't spend more than $10k though.
>>17426742
i wouldn't. i'd buy a 3k civic or get something better for that price.
Does /o/ hate Teslas?
Other than "muh gears" and "muh exhaust pipes" what is there to not like?

Shit tier built quality, poor handling, low top speed, heavy, the wet dream of every shit tier teacher who couldn't become a professor, not to mention the wet dream of treehuggers who are afraid of driving
gee
Why does no one talk about this when it comes to cheap hot hatch recommendations? From what I've seen it's far more powerful on paper than the equivalent GTI or Si and it's far better value than a WRX or Evo. Is it just because it's Dodge?
It's a piece of shit. It's a very fast piece of shit, but a piece of shit. If you want performance and don't care about the "quality" in any sense of the word, an SRT4 was faster than any of its competitors at the time. The Cobalt SS Turbo is the same way: garbage, but one of the fastest FWD cars you can buy with *very* tough engine block.
>>17426407
Taking a wild guess here, but I'd go ahead and assume it's not recommended because it's not a fucking hatch?
probably because its not a hatch
