Picked this up a few weeks ago for 5k. Definitely overpaid but I really wanted it. No regrets... so far.
My NB has these plastic trim things around the headlights because it's "special" and the paint is fading on them
Can you just peel them off and respray them or do you have to bake the whole light?
miatas are floppy as fuck
Would you rather a miata GT with a v6 or a new RX?
>>17434243
Since Mazda currently doesn't even make a V6, that would mean:
>Option 1: Ford Cyclone V6 (~275hp)
Mediocre but better than most current options
>Option 2: Mazda K V6 (200hp)
Not enough power to be worth the weight, probably won't make emissions. However, with enough modernisation this kind of small V6 would be the best match for the MX-5.
>Option 3: Screw the V6, 2.5 Turbo (225hp)
This is probably the best and easiest option. Also, Fiat can now cram their 1.75T into the 124 without destorying the ND.
I'd prefer any of these options over a new RX to be honest.
>>17434257
The turbo i4 would be more likely, but you're going to need more bottom end torque for all the glass and extra luggage space. Even cyclone v6 would make it a great deal more powerful than the gt86 and keep it fun.
>>17434271
The new 2.5 turbo in the CX-9 makes 310 lbfts of torque at 2000RPM.
The Cyclone V6 in the previous gen made 249 ftlbs @ 4500RPM.
The turbo sounds like it has a lot more torque.
Does a car exist if it doesn't have over 500HP?
>>17434058
What the FUCK are you talking about stupid idiot... Of course it exists dumbass

I was just procrastinating. I literally ran out on my way to the gas station. My shitbox's fuel guage is inaccurate so I didn't know I was that close to empty
Hint: it won't fit through your fuel filter.
Are f150s reliable or is it just a meme?

2016 ecoboost owner here
Front diff leaks well below 30k miles.
Had gasket replaced once already, need to do it again.
Keep asking myself, what's next
>>17432475
>he bought an ecoboost truck
most real truck owners aren't buying that shit, mostly just mall crawlers
>>17432484
Kinda figured such when I took it to Ford and told them I actually used it offroad.
Service tech was surprised and asked a billion questions on how it performed.
Overall it's a very good/fun truck being that it's faster than the 5.0.
However this differentisl problem does leave me asking questions about the long-term reliability.
Seriously considering trading in for a Tundra or Chevy in near future if more goes wrong with this truck.
Chester is 72 years old. He’s been dreaming of owning a Corvette for the vast majority of those years. He worked hard and played it safe. He’s got enough money to bring home a Vette and the wife says it is ok. Now he knows the one’s from the 60's were way faster, buta new Vette is part of the dream. He orders his new car (the local dealer doesn’t do test drives in.Vettes). He waits for what feels like an eternity.
When his new car arrives, he takes it off the lot, pokes the bear and soils himself. The legendary C3 his brother had was a three toed sloth compared to this thing. His eyes and reflexes aren’t what they used to be and this damned thing represents more money than he made in any year of his life. Chester is scared to drive it, scared to wreck it and scared to sell it. Until he does.
Mike is 54. He makes a good living but works too much. HIs wife just left him for some loser who makes less than half of what Mike does but pays attention to her. He needs to start over. A Corvette will help. Mike gets a flashy Z06, puts on his aviators and heads for the mall in his best leather jacket. He lurks by the car hoping to get the ladies attention. No one looks at him. He takes it to Hooters and tells the girls about it. They talk about how sexy it is and how sexy he is in it. But everybody dodges him when he asks for a number. He takes it downtown and drives around with the windows down playing AC/DC loud enough to draw attention. He gets smirks at best.
Mike tries online dating, he picks up his first date in his Vette. He revs it up a bit and she looks mortified, The date goes bad. Next time he gets an online date he shows up in his F150, no aviators, no leather, no AC/DC just regular old Mike. She’s fine, he’s fine, everything is fine. The date goes ok. Mike dates around for a while and eventually meets a nice woman who’s kids are in college who also had a really busy schedule. She hates the AC/DC, and makes him take the leather jacket to Goowill. The Vette sits because he is going to track it one day. He never does. It’s on Bay now.
Jim is 49. He’s worked hard all his life, but has always driven sensible cars that work for the family. His brother Matt has owned a succession of BMWs and has never been quiet about how much they cost and how fast they are. But Jim has just received the promotion he’s been working towards for a long time, and with it a substantial pay raise. Jim isn’t going to live in his brother’s shadow anymore but he works somewhere a German car wouldn’t be welcome, so he goes into his local Chevy dealer and puts a deposit down on a brand new Corvette.
A few months later Jim picks up his new Corvette and drives it over to his brother’s house to show it off. They take it out to the local freeway so Jim can prove how much faster it is than Matt 5-Series. Except Jim redlines it up the on-ramp right in front of a cop, who doesn’t take kindly to being cut off by a tubby guy doing 100 in a Corvette.
Now Jim has lost his license and his wife has to drive him into work every morning. The Corvette sits in the garage until winter when Jim’s wife none too gently reminds him she wants to park in the garage before it starts to snow. Jim has had just enough time to get over his wounded pride to snap some vertical pictures of his former pride and joy and put the Corvette up on Auto Trader.
Now that the Camaro has completely embarrassed the Mustang in performance, will Ford finally be forced to make the Mustang small again? Pony cars are supposed to be small, and the 6th gen is too fucking fat.
Nobody cares bro. I am a Camaro super fan but ford doesn't care that it out performs the mustang. They still sell more mustangs. Even so, the 2018 mustang will have several performance upgrades. Camaro is the better performance car, mustang is still the better selling product.
curb weight of the mid 90's mustang was around 3400lbs, 05 mustang is ~3500lbs, 2017 is 3700lbs.
You're right they are heavier now than recent history but they haven't been below 3000lbs for a very very long time. They stopped being pony cars a long time ago.
I'm not so sure. The last Mustang was faster than the last Camaro (sans maybe the Z/28), so they probably just underestimated how much of an improvement the 6th gen Camaro would be. The GT350R shows they do care about making a serious performance car, so I imagine Ford will try and take the 7th generation seriously. I'm just hoping they make a lighter and smaller chassis instead of the doing what Dodge does (DOOD 848 HORSEPOWER LMAO).
>>17430968
3400lbs with a V8 and modern safety equipment wouldn't be bad at all, it's a big improvement on 3700.
3000lbs + V8 + affordable + safe is just unrealistic.
What kind of brakes does your car have?

Is it a trap to buy a used WRX? I know new it's a good car but used I have no feedback from people around me. What do you guys have on 3rd Gen WRX?
>>17429715
All autistic memes aside, they're solid cars with tons of aftermarket but the prices on used ones that aren't clapped out shitboxes are so close to buying brand new that it's basically not worth it.
>>17429715
Ask NASIOC, they'll know better than the cunts on here
Just payed my car insurance today;
$95.40 per month (though I just pay the $572.40 for six months) via Safeco Insurance for PL/PD on a 2007 Saturn Vue.
What’s everybody else paying?

This just happened in Switzerland. Basically the guy will end up in jail and paying a fine without having done anything wrong since he was put in that situation by the woman committing suicide.
Laws in Switzerland basically say "the car is the stronger vehicle and therefore is always in the wrong". A better example would be if a guy on a parachute landed right in front of you and hit him, you would have to pay for compensation since you are the "stronger" vehicle and are always at fault.
What does /o/ think?
Pic related, the car of the guy that ran over the woman committing suicide.
As if you couldn't see a person lying on the ground, it's in the drivers responsibility to be aware of his surroundings, imagine that person lying on the ground actually passed out or something.
I'm not defending the guy and his (stupid) choice of ending his life this way instead of jumping off the nearest bridge / high rise but the driver has actually commited manslaughter by being unable to respond.
How do you not see someone laying on an open freeway with your headlights on.
Highways are multiple lanes, just go around them.
>>17429054
what happens if a car is in autopilot? then the car is at fault not the driver?
