Kept seeing HRV's on /o/ and all the hate they got. Obviously most of the hate was from people who probably haven't driven one and don't like crossovers...so I decided to get my own opinion.

>Drivers area is unlike a normal shitbox commuter but nothing amazing. Its "spirited" and nice to look at.
>center console is elevated and sleek like a sports car...merely aesthetic as this is in fact a subcompact.
>Driver position is slightly elevated like most subcompact crossovers
>Decide to test drive
>Definite small presence on road
>Classic civic like feel
>Its peppy but not fast
>CVT is totally tolerable and probably the best I have driven to date.
>Passenger room is good for a subcompact ALTHOUGH the read headrests are slightly cumbersome and restrict vision to the rear.

I honestly don't get why /o/ throws so much hate at this thing. Throw away the word crossover and just call this thing a lifted subcompact hatch. Basically a jacked up fit. Its likable and brings back the energy and spirit of early 2000s civics due to its size. Its not fast but its a peppy little commute. I'm actually surprised people on here don't like it because they would . Just my two cents. It also comes in 2wd with a manual transmission...I also tested that one out. Same experience about.

I know, I know. God damnit. I thought it was a normal T5 whine but then I noticed it at highway speeds. It's been howling for a few days, first chance I've had to look at it. Bearings axle-side seemed fine, but I noticed some fluid being flung onto the chassis from the pinion seal, my guess is switching to synthetic gear oil caused it to leak. The level is low, can't remember if I mentioned that, maybe too low now and it got the bearings. Fuck.

I get upper 30's to 40 in town. Better than I ever got with either VW TDI I had.
And the Honda was cheaper to buy... and 87 is cheaper than diesel.
It failed because people wanted a CRX. It failed because honda put in a shitty cam that cost it HP *and* mpg. It failed. But I'm not giving mine up.

/o/, help a brother out with your amazing knowledge.

>hooked up scanner, temps are getting higher in closed loop
>Hit open loop and temps go down quickly
I suspect I'm running a tad lean, problem is, I changed my fuel filter, changed air filter, ran some injector cleaner through it with extra concentration, and it's still running warmer than I'd like (aluminum heads, don't wanna fuck around with temperatures).
Thoughts on what it could be? Bad O2 sensors? Bad MAF? Bad cats? Bad injectors? I verified it isn't coolant-related.

If it seems to just happen in closed loop, I'd suspect the O2 sensor. Is it a custom tune? If so, check the target lambda values of you can.
