How long until we get a small, affordable electric sports car that's actually good? Pic related looks pretty good, right? Well, it costs $70,000, produces only 305hp and has a range of 75 miles. I like EVs as an idea (instant power, easier balancing, less maintenance...still miss the engine noise but that's besides the point), but God damn nobody can truly make a good EV sports car. I know EVs are a newer tech in their current form, but don't you think that there would at least be a better car on the market by now?
I could see someone making a straightforward electric kit for the Factory Five 818. Aside from that it's probably 10 years off or so when an established manufacturer takes a swing at it.
>>17479436
Ugh. I just want to have a sporty cheap EV that I can take drifting and blast the Initial D soundtrack without being drowned out by the engine sound. Is that too much to ask?
>>17479443
You can hope early Tesla Roadster prices drop, they seem to be holding pretty steady though
You don't need a Ram 3500 for hauling boats and driving on gravel roads. This is literally the ideal truck for 90% of truck owners. Why do truckfags hate it?
it's oddly small and fuckhuge at the same time
i'd get an odyssey instead
>>17466803
that's not a truck, it's a minivan with a truck bed
although most truck owners would be better off with it
>>17466803
Rather get a Civic.

>implying anyone on /o/ cares about a company that's owned by chinks, cut all ties with motorsports, and hasn't been relevant for years
>>17481243
Actually Volvo is active in Australia with V8 Supercars.
>>17481235
Honestly who cares about new volvos anyway
I Just got jumped by two niggers outside my house, they managed to grab my phone before I shouted 'get the dogs' which worked and they got back in their car and drove off before they found my wallet.
It was a white Nissan Altima and the only licence plate digits I can remember are the first two: T6 . Are there any good sites I can look it up to find their car?
I'm not going into work tomorrow due to my black eye and so I will be treating myself to an upgrade and searching through every white Nissan registered in new jersey until I find this nig. All help appreciated. I'm not that mad about losing the phone, I just really want to get these guys back, once I find where they live the games will fucking begin.

Ideally the controlling of any machine should be as straightforward as possible. It should do what the operate wants it to do as simply and straightforwarldy as possible with as little rigamarole as possible to get a simple command as "go forward", "go backwards" or "park".
For this reason automatic transmissions are fundamentally superior to manual transmissions.
Stale pasta and bad bait.
>Powersliding through corner
>Modulating throttle to control slide
>Loosen up on the throttle when slip angle increasing too quickly
>Automatic trans decides to upshift
>Sudden traction; suspension unbalanced
This is why automatics are dangerous.
>>17480919
Yes, and the control shouldn't be hidden away behind layers of abstraction and lack of control
> Driving along
> Put foot down slightly to close gap
> CLUNK THUNK CLUNK
> Automatic transmission changes down
> Car brakes suddenly
> Engine redlines
> CHUNK THUNK CLUNK
> Transmission changes back up
> Revs drop suddenly
> Car lurches forward from sudden deceleration
> CLUNK THUNK THUNK CLYUNK
> Car changes down again
> Eventually even it out by playing with the throttle
> Climbing hill
> Losing revs
> Losing revs
> LOSING REVS
> Van struggling to keep moving, now
> Don't dare take a hand of the wheel
> BANG THUNK CLUNK
> Gear changes suddenly
> Accelerate sharply because my foot's flat down still
> Descending hill
> Gearbox is missing gears without notification
> Goes from 5th to 2nd
> Van jerks sharply
> Engine races
> Everything in the back jumps and rattles
> Seatbelt the only thing stopping me from being hurled into the passenger footwell
Manuals don't do that.
Why haven't you purchased a Corvetteā¢ yet /o/?
>3x more warranty than any other supercar
>Faster than GT-R for half price
>Pulls more G's than a million dollar Porsche 918
>More LeMans wins than Ford GT
>Looks as good or better than [insert latest model] Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin
>Delicious FI variably timed V8 power
>Honda-Civic-tier 37 MPG
>Dat sweet exhaust note perfection
>Starts at only $50k
>Nothing in this post can be proven wrong
By far the best performance value in automotive history ever.

Why do car guys usually seem like assholes?
>>17479636
people who know more than you do seem mean to others because seekrit smartz
>>17479636
why are ops always faggots?
there are assholes in every hobby. and job. and place. assholes are everywhere.
How does the future of cars look, /o/? Are you optimistic or pessimistic?
I'm pessimistic.
Car culture will still exist, but we'll have to cling onto our ICE shitboxes for as long as possible, because the supply will soon run out forever.
it looks good. chinese are buying cars left and right, and they tend to be more accepting of weird styling. also car reliability seems to have jumped up
>>17479598
pessimistic. design is shit. nannies will get worse. performance and mpg is great but what's the point if the cars are hideous and pedestrian-safe?
No spoilerino. Should i watch this?
Yes.
It's a very enjoyable movie.
Just don't expect it to be 10/10 or a movie for /o/tists It isn't really about the cars.
>>17479528
>Jamie Foxx
Dropped
>>17479528
Wasn't 10/10 but it was enjoyable. Its more of a /mu/ movie oddly enough, the cinematography was done well.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING
>>17479470
it's the mirage anon, can't you see?
>>17479483
I can. I see a car. Only its not a car....It has wheels, tires, doors, lights.
I can even get in. Its got all the normal car stuff. Its still not a car though. Help
>17 grand for that
Its downright dangerous how slow that thing is what the fuck. Imagine the absolute dread of trying to reach 60 on every single freeway entrance.
Discuss you inbred shittards

same as my car. no wonder it's slidey as fug
>>17479361
Yeah, they intentionally fit Prius tires on to make it drifto material
the ford mustang v6 smoked an 86 on the track though, objectively
Is it illegal to drive a car with the doors removed and all windows except windshield smashed out?
(I'm in ithe UK)
>>17479165
no because you can drive this with no doors or windows legally
>>17479193
That was designed like that though.
What about if it's a average shitbox like this?
Let's hear the story
>arguably the greatest car ever made
>literally only well known nissan car
Honestly, aside from patrol, gtr and 370z i can't remember single one nissan car.Why is nissan so boring and characterless?
Muh Renault buyout because they went broke in 2000
The Sentra is a great economy car.
The Juke is a great autistic, special snowflake car.
Skylines?
Why are the Camry and accord #1 and 2 when the Malibu exists?
>>17478908
Because Chevy is shit in reliability
I like the new malibu but shit they are literally everywhere here.

This April we put together the first appalachian area /o/ meet, and it was a success. No one crashed, and a fiero died for our sins
For the end of the summer, we're going to be doing a meet at deals gap. The path has yet to be laid out, but most likely we will be starting on tail of the dragon and heading into the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest to hit the sweepers.
Join our discord for more information in the following week. Date is subject to change based on availability
Is this what /o/ looks like?

>>17478770
Yep looks like the crowd that would respond to an anonymous image board planned meet.
