Driving a '98 CR-V
Will take better picture to join collage soon
Years after getting your license.
Do you still go for night rides in your car, just for the sake of driving?
I never did that at any point
because my car is a milquetoast economy shitbox that exists solely to convey me to my local labor center
>>17853271
That about sums it up.
I wish I could, but I'm a Mexican living in an neighborhood full of other Mexicans, who each have like 5 cars, so as soon as someone leaves, someone else will take that parking space.
And It doesn't help that everyone is driving either Trucks, SUVs or Old American Landbarges.
Looking for a Peppy/semi fuel efficient DD, Probably gonna be 1 of these 3
>So /o/ which one and why?

the prelude looks the best so prob that one
>>17849743
Id go with an rsx-s or a celica gts. that 2zz is gold and so is the k20
>>17849743
don't really know if you can go wrong with any of these, it's probably just down to personal preference and what's available in your area

you can engine brake in some autos too
is there a worse stretch of automotive designs for entry level shitboxes than mid-late 2000s?
>shit engines
>shit fuel economy
>re-doing 90s aesthetic for SAFETY PLASTIC EVERYWHERE
>cheap interiors
>BLACK AND PLASTIC
>every single piece has a certain give to it, nothing fits
>even optioned out they're cheap
anyone who says modern cars are shit has never had to daily these autos, I would kill to have the nicer interiors that come regularly in every shitbox, as well as alloys, and other features
>>17873422
you picked a bad example, those cars get like 40mpg and can be made fast for cheap
Try late 70s.
>Shift gears
>Transmission explodes
>Get rear-ended
>gas tank explodes
>Roll over
>crushed instantly
>reach for glove box
>door falls off
>>17873437
that's moving the goal posts.
There are many classic cars worth keeping that were regular old shitboxes back then.

It seems like literally every article about the supposedly upcoming "electric car revolution" always starts off extremely optimistic but then you always get hit with the reality and issues with the predictions later on in the article. This article (https://www.wired.com/2016/02/electric-car-revolution-now-scheduled-2022/) is a great example. Type in "how long will gas cars be around" and pretty much all of the articles that say EVs are coming soon fall into this same trap, while the more pessimistic ones seem a lot more logical and based in reality.
Are EVs actually going to be anything more than a niche product within any of our lifetimes or is it just a meme?
The real question is whether synthetic fuel will take off commercially, and if not, how long it'll take for people to give up on batteries and realize that hydrogen is the future.
>>17872371
Hydrogen is even more of a meme than EVs. Even the biggest EV fanboys know this. Synthetic seems likely, though.
>>17872371
Probably never...
EV's FUD spreading caused many supporters to abandon the synthetic fuel and alternative sensible solutions.
For example, Audi discovered "E-Diesel Fuel" AKA Unicorn tears. It requires just carbon dioxide, water and electricity for manufacture.
Plus, it is free from sulfur and aromatic hydrocarbons, which means it won't smell or cover your car with soot. Audi says that this form of diesel is also readily ignitable.
Too bad, (((EPA))) killed it because they know it
is a definitely sustainable, cheapest, clean fuel.
>rear drum brakes
>>17872280
What's the problem? They are simple and easy to work on. Just clean them once every few months or so to avoid shit getting gummed up.
>>17872289
There's a reason only the shitboxist tier of shitboxes use them in this day and age.
>>17872280
>drum brakes
>not better at stopping than discs
>only drawback, creates more heat/fade
