Found out today that the used car I bought not even 3 months ago is going to need a new engine due to permanent sludge damage from the previous owner. The car only has 43,000 miles. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow and see what they say. What are the chances that they will replace the engine or give me a different car? I'm not making payments on a car that needs a new engine because they sold it to me with sludge that kill the engine. Will I need to get a lawyer?

Ther cheapest new car you can buy here (Arg) is the Chery QQ, that piece of shit costs USD 10.300 down here, pic related.

Why the fuck do people arround here spend over 12.000 dollars on a Chevrolet Classic?!
It would be easier to buy a 1999-2001 Peugeot 306 at USD 4.000 and spend about 1.000 dollars on the inside to make it comfy.

Today I sold my first car, and it fucking hurts, all the memories, all the time I've spent on it, all the pain in the ass it was, and yet, I loved the damned thing. I didn't sold it out of need, since I barely used it on the last 2 years out of 7 I had it, and gas was getting expensive. So I decided to use the money on a workbench/gaming PC and the rest I shall invest it on shit and giggles.

But still, the feeling remains. Can we have a car story thread?

For those wondering, I had a Dodge Nitro 2007, automatic and normal trim. Tons of electrical issues like windows not working, tail lights burning bulbs way to often, non functional passenger airbag. yeah, a shitbox, but my own shitbox.

Hey all, I'm working for a used car dealership that predominantly sells Ram Trucks, Dodge, Jeeps, and a few other brands as well. I've just began this job 2 weeks ago, so I'm a little new to the difference between the trim levels, and it shows when I'm talking to customers. If you guys have any tips on websites, things to look for when trying to sell to customers, etc., I'd appreciate it. Also, whats the best website to advertise used cars? My company already uses Trucar, and I know Craigslist is a good one, but they charge 5$ per dealer ad.

Hey /o/
In the UK and looking to buy my first car. I can afford to buy a relatively new car (less than a year old) but most people seem to think this is a bad idea for a first car.
People keep saying that Ill end up getting small knocks and scratches etc because Im not used to driving solo yet, which I personally think is bullshit.

What would you say, buy a relatively nice car and keep it for a good few years or buy a shit run around to run ragged for a year and replace it

Hey /o

Hoping to get some advice here.

I do a lot of work myself but I'm full time employed and a novice, I have a good VW mechanic to help me with stuff.

He's had one of my cars for a year.

Now he's a one man show, starting out, and it is my 3rd car, but it's been a year and he consistently promises deadlines that he doesn't keep.

I don't want to sue the kid, he deserves his shot, but everytime I go to take it he just starts this thing about how he just needs more time with it. He doesn't ask for money or anything.

The problem is that he doesn't respond to my calls, texts, or messages. I have to go there and confront him on it.

I'm looking for advice on how to handle the scenario, maybe even legally.

There's a crack in the side of my inline-4 crank case, the previous owner JB welded it and it ran for a good while, but now when I try to turn it over all it does is make a clicking noise. Not a dead battery click either, a repetitive chunky click. Could this just be a bad starter? Or is the engine permanently fucked. Is there any way I can check if the engine is seized?
