I got a used 2010 prius that had some water inside one of the headlights. Being the enterprising anon I am, I removed the headlight to clean the inside and seal the leak. That was a pretty painstaking process that involved heating the headlight in the oven to melt the sealant. After putting the whole thing back together, pic related. All these streaks that look crappy. It seems there was sime sort of coating on the inside if the headlights that was damaged when I wiped the water away. I've been looking around, but I haven't found much info on this. Anyone have any idea how to restore the inside of the headlight(again)?
Buy a new headlight
>>17588304
looks almost like hard water stains, if it is just let some vinegar sit on the lens for a few minutes before cleaning it again.
>>17588371
Thing is, apart from some minor water spots, the streaks weren't there before cleaning. That's why I think there is some coating that needs to be cleaned out. I don't think there's hard water deposits.

Post ways that /pol/ has ruined /o/ for you
IKTF, OP. It's socially acceptable on /o/ to be a literal cousinfucker who lives in a trailer (caprifag), but god forbid you have brown skintone while being in the vicinity of an automobile
The fuck? I know people of all races that like cars. I'm black and I love and work on my car. Stop letting those fucking losers influence you, 4chan is cancer for thought.

/pol/ is a good way to break "the conditioning" if you were raised leftist but when you take a step back you see that /pol/ is far from without faults either. You don't like your race's stereotype? Change it. Be an example to others. Be Detective Joe West and not Tyrone McGangbanger.
Hi,
Recently got a 17 STI. It's my first manual DD and I have a question.
The car had this weird thing where the revs don't drop (rev hang I think it's called) very quickly you go to shift. It makes it very hard to shift smoothly I find.
What I do is shift and then gradually let out the clutch until it catches and then release and accelerate away.
How bad is this? Am I ruining my car?
I don't have any friends I can ask because I'm the only one I know who drives stick.
i thought it was just a heavy flywheel
>>17587832
You might wear out the clutch slightly faster, but you won't damage the car the way you're doing things right now.
You could try waiting for the revs to start dropping before you shift, or if you don't mind spending a little money, you can get it tuned.
>>17587841
Nope, that's how the ECU is programmed from the factory. A lot of newer manual cars (especially if they're turbo) have rev hang programmed in to at least some degree. It's supposed to reduce emissions, but all it really does is annoy the driver.

Sticky is shit and outdated.
New Edge Mustang GT or z28 camaro or a G35 I guess.
Miata is a cheap and fun car if you dont have the need for speed.

My friend is looking to get her first car, and she has a budget of $5-6k AUD. Can you help me help her look for a car? Right now she's looking at this 2005 VW Golf, and it looks decent enough but she wants to keep looking at more options before making a decision.
She's looking for a car that:
>has good fuel efficiency
>is reliable
>has easy parts to find
>low kms
>2005 and up
Thanks.

s usual in history, German companies got busted running another cartel lately, since they hate so much Anglo-American type capitalism, fairness, etc.
See:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2017/07/21/german-car-giants-may-have-colluded-emissions/
"Germany’s biggest carmakers are being investigated on suspicion of operating a secret technology cartel for the past 20 years that led to the dieselgate emissions scandal, it was claimed today."
But as usual nothing will happen to those companies in Germoney or in the EU which is really just an empire of German-Europe. But if you live abroad where the rule of law applies in Anglosphere nations you can punish them and cash in, by joining one of the ongoing class action lawsuits against Volkswagen and its subsidiaries.
American class action lawsuit:
https://www.forthepeople.com/class-action-lawyers/volkswagen-emissions-test-rigging-class-action-lawsuit/
UK class action:
http://www.vwemissionsaction.com/
If anyone knows other class actions to join please share, to help fry and pickle the krauts. Don't be lazy since you can join pretty easy and stand to make some decent money if you have an affected vehicle.
>Anglo-American type capitalism, fairness, etc.
>>17586904
Frankly I don't like capitalism much, but I included that bit there to try to encourage capitalist shills to rail against Germoney.

>are being investigated on suspicion

In the market for a new car? How much Horse Power do I need?
at least 2 horses
>>17586779
Forreal tho
>>17586775
For city driving even as low as 40 bhp is enough power to get you around since you won't be really doing over 50km/h or the police will come beat and fine your ass.
For 100km/h driving you need about 60-70 bhp, and for 130 km/h cruising on the highway you need around 100 bhp.
Everything above these numbers is marketing bullshit.
