>Actually have the stupid idea that I want to buy a new car
>US Miata only gets the 2.0
>New Ford super duties don't have a stick shift
>The Mustang fleet is gonna be facelifted in a few years
>Fiestas and Focuses are 4 or 5 door, no 3 door
>Dodge Darts too
>GT86 family is slow and expensive
>etc etc all are looking like shit
>Hyundai Veloster and Kia Optima are literally looking like my best options for a manual turbocharged car
What is this world coming to?
>>13848345
>US Miata only gets the 2.0
Why is this a bad thing
Also I'm 90% sure you are a shill
>>13848345
I think the Optima is a pretty good looking car. Do you know how it drives?
>>13848362
No, I'm doing it for free.
I just really don't like having options taken away from me that previous years, foreigners, or next year cars are going to have.
The Btirkeks get the 3 door Fiesta and Focus. Along wtih the 1.5 miata.
The previous superduties had a stick shift.
Every facelifted mustang has looked better than the pre-facelift. Save for the Foxes.
>Pushrods get better fuel economy bro
>What? Gearing? no bro its because they make more torque
>>13848276
> gearing and torque are unrelated design factors.
Sure thing.
>>13848585
That's correct.
Torque and gearing are completely unrelated to pushrods. Thanks for clearing up that up.
pushrod engines tend to be bigger so yeah they make more torque
Will Mustang sales suffer with the 5.0 being a half second slower to 60 and quarter mile compared to the LT1 Camaro?
better question
will the new camaro be faster than an old civic?
>Based 3500lbs ATS platform
> 455HP LT1
> 6 speed Tremec or 8 speed paddles
> Magnetic ride control
> 0-60 in 4 flat
> 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds
Better than Mustang in every way.

A riced out, stripped out, stressed to death fwd faggotbox beats a loaded modern car on a meme track? No way
Does anyone else use waze on their phone when traveling? I never heard of it until my friend made me download it before traveling 2,000 miles across the US. It had every cop marked along the way and we were able to average 95+ mph the entire trip.
I used it a bit on a road trip in Australia but not as many people use it here so it's not as useful.
>>13847999
Fuck yeah Waze is awesome for avoiding getting speeding tickets and police in general. It really goes hand in hand with a good radar detector to help defend against instant-on radar and laser speed traps that your detector won't pick up until it's to late usually.
It's great for interstate driving. I prefer Google maps for city driving. People rarely mark cops in town and Google maps is just much better at searching addresses quickly. Sometimes on Waze it gets hung up on the search screen.
car overheats only at idle, already replaced the fans and they do work, what do?

post your post vehicle inquiries here
Im looking at a motorcylcle online and the buyer claims it just needs new battery and they havnt bought a new one for financial reasons but the engine can still be jump started. it has around 15,000 miles and they havn't rode it for a couple of months. Should I bail?
>>13847725
bump
The "it just needs a battery" routine. On vehicles that are ridden very little that might be the case, sometimes it's a way to hide a larger issue. Try to jump-start or bring your own battery, if it doesn't work I'd walk away.
walk away.

Working as a detailer has made me hate working on cars.
thinking about getting into karting...
few things though,
i'm 6'3/6'4, is that going to be a problem?
what kinda budget would i be looking at? ausfag here, so buy a cheapish kart for 2 or 3k, plus another 500 or so for gear? just trying to gauge how plausible this is for me at this point in time.
Height isn't an issue
IDK about price in Australia but consider along with the cost of the kart you need to pay for storing or transporting it, track time, lots of tires, engine rebuilds, and a ton of small things that add up fast. Whatever you think it will cost multiply it by 3 and you'll have a good estimate.
>>13847532
Height is a non issue and it depends on what class you're running
2 strokes and 4 strokes, clones, anything where you can fuck with the engine is a money pit to be competetive, and dirt racing in murrica is awful because of tire treatments
Idk if Margay is in Ozland but they do the IGNITE series where it's a spec chassis and a sealed motor, you control tire pressures oil levels and gearing and some other stuff but nobody can tune or buy better engines, which keeps it cheap
>>13847555
ongoing costs is fine.
i'm tossing up between fixing my current car up a tiny bit and getting a kart (race track is 20mins drive away) or buying a supercharged version of my current car, then using my current one for parts.
or thirdly, saving the money to buy a really nice car in 10 years time.
in short; kart, 4agze aw11 or honda nsx
So guys, I've been shown to a well kept 1989 E30 325i touring, 189k km on it, owner is a 65yo looking to get rid of it cause he's going blind. Should I pull the trigger? Pic semi unrelated but car is in same color and has them bbs wheels
fuck yes. you could flip it to some stancefaggot for like 10k.
>>13847460
He wants €2500 but I think I can go lower. Also I'd use it as a daily and to be honest, I'd rather keep the car than sell it to some stancefag even if it's that amount of money. I just couldn't bear knowing he'd ruin it.
>>13847479
just remember you are buying an old bmw. maintenance is not going to be cheap if something breaks.
What is the most efficient way to damage this vehicle? (financial/function/etc)
>>13847417
Replacing the I for a D.
>>13847417
why?

You mean the S for a D.

Maserati GranTurismo sounds awesome. And LaFerrari was bretty gud. Ferraris just have that special sound.
Anyone got experience with those solar panel (car)battery chargers? Specifically, charging through the cigarette outlet. I mostly drive short distances, so my battery needs a little help keeping the charge, especially with cold weather comming. If I could just leave the panel on top of the dashboard, plugged into the cigarette outlet it would be perfect.
I don't park anywhere near an electrical outlet so a normal charger isn't gonna work. And since I park in a lot someone could just steal anything not locked into the car.
Mate, I suspect that you live in Scandinavia like me, and have experienced our winters... just think a few minutes on how much sunlight we get per day for the coming monts
The best bet would be to buy a cheap charger and bring the battery inside and give it a good charge once a week or something at most. If your battery flatlines within that short of a timespan without it being below -20c or something constantly and you're not struggling to start it then I'd consider replacing my battery, as yours may be of shit quality or too old
I've got this charger and it works just fine for me http://www.biltema.no/no/Bil---MC/Elektrisk/Batteriverktoy-og-tilbehor/Batterilader-12-V-8-A-2000031643/

why not spend a little on a dual battery set up with optimas?
Yes, fellow scandi indeed. However
1. Needs some extra in the summer months as well to not wear out by being low charge all the time.
2. My battery is bolted in the boot, taking it out and back in regularly isn't really viable. Also alarm won't work
>>13847303
All that does it make it take twice as long before loosing charge.
Someone just told me they don't believe in spending money on cars. What do?
Tell them you don't believe in spending money on houses
>my dream car is the bugatti veyron
