It's really cold out, so I let my car run a few minutes before I start driving. My understanding is that running a cold engine can cause more wear and tear, so letting the car warm up first will make it last longer. Or something like that.

My question is, how relevant is this for driving very short distances? I just had to move my car across the street, literally drove it half a block. I let it warm up for like 30 seconds then said fuck it and drove it. For future reference, how important is it to let the engine warm up if I'm only driving really short distances?

most of the damage to a motor is done while its warming up

Anytime you shut the car off when its not at full operating temps, youre doing damage. If youre an autist like me, youre goal is to have a minimal amount of cold starts and try to get it fully warmed up anytime you drive.
You shouldnt worry about it, but if no ones looking, put it in neutral and push it next time
>>
>>13957872
what does that mean? Like I shouldn't let it warm up at all?

>>13957887
Wait, it's the shutting off that's a problem? If I start it then drive immediately down the block, I could let it warm up there before shutting it off and it would be fine?
There was some snow and it's a bit of a hill, so pushing was not an option.

I'm using Photoshop CS6

So far all I'm messing with is Blur, Noise, vignette, and a couple other little things.

Like i already said, i know I'm not the best and I'm not even sure if I'm good. I just enjoyed the last thread and wanted to do it to others cars.

What kinds of problems do 1990s Miatas have? I'm looking at one with 130k on it. Are the engines interference or not? Any problems with the 96 miata? Looking at one of those too. 150k miles.

>>13957311
Non interference. After 94 they came with a 1.8(if USA) and possibly have a torsen.
No specific problems really worth noting, but here's a great list.

The most common problem I've heard of is the clutch slave cylinder likes going out. Mine did at 216k miles and was a ~$60 fix.

When I bought mine, the water pump was leaking like a mofo, but I kinda think that was due to negligence. The previous owner left the car out in his yard during hurricane Katrina and the entire engine (other than the top) was covered in clay when I bought it.

only car i like is that ctsv although not the newer one

So this is it.

It looks awkward. Almost like that Nissan that shat itself at La Sarthe.

The German manufacturer confirmed that the new car will continue to use diesel power - setting it apart from its petrol-powered Toyota and Porsche competitors - as part of a revamped 4-litre V6 engine.

It also revealed that the car will be entered into the 6MJ energy retrieval sub-class, up from 4MJ on this year's model, which finished runner-up to Porsche in both teams' and drivers' competitions in the WEC.

Flywheel energy storage for the hybrid system has been abandoned in favour of a lithium-ion battery solution similar to that used by sister manufacturer Porsche.

The car also features heavily revised front bodywork in a bid to maximise aerodynamic performance.

"With our new Audi R18, we’re setting a clear signal: Audi continues to put the pedal to the metal in motorsport, deliberately relying on TDI – the world’s most successful automotive efficiency technology – at Le Mans," said Audi motorsport boss Dr Wolfgang Ullrich.

Mid life crisis? Not enough money to buy a Corvette? I'm suprised he didn't get a Camaro at least.

wow, the highest optioned saturn ion against the least optioned z4. I'd like to see that redline pull on the 3.2 or even 3.0 z4. actually, I wouldn't. driving a good car is about so much more than acceleration.

Is the RX7 FC a good project car? I really want a rotary to have as a tuner, but I can't afford an FD.
The problem I have is that it only has 160hp, and that doesn't really seem like a whole lot. I don't want it to be a drag car, but I want to be able to autocross it and take it to the track day (bro). How can you make power from the N/A 13b? I know that there is a T2 FC, but I heard that it was difficult to add a turbo to the N/A, but what else can I do to it?

by swapping for a v8
>>
>>13956549
You can pick up a 13B-T or 13B-RE for like $1200 with transmission. Also, the 20B-REW is a bolt-in swap for the FC, while it's a bitch and a half to swap one into an FB or FD.
>>
>>13956575
Also, the best way to make power from a 6 port 13B is to fill in the ports and pport it.

I have one and it's an awesome car. /o/ will hate on it because it's not manual and <$20k, but it is definitely one of the best cars in its class. If anyone's actually interested, I can give you my review and how I think it compares to the other cars in its class (335i, ATS, etc.).
