What's more expensive
FWD to RWD
or
FWD to AWD
I can't be FF anymore I fucking can't
What are the price range to do that conversion
>>14018286
Depends on if your car had optional AWD from the factory or not, and it would be much, MUCH easier and maybe even cheaper to just buy something else.
>>14018286
Depends. If your car originally had an AWD variant available (or an AWD car used the same platform) you might be able to convert it relatively easily.
If not, I'd imagine FF to FR would be cheaper simply because it needs less parts.
>>14018308 is right though, it's way cheaper to just buy something that already is RWD or AWD.
>>14018308
I'm not soulless like you sorry
Is /o/ ready?
Your a fuckin civic
>>14018211
Haven't all of these been scams in the past years?
>>14018211
>less than 4 wheels
What does it mean since the Tesla Model S broke the system?
http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/12/08/nhtsa-crash-test-ratings-five-star/76987630/
>>14018106
It's a good thing. We need to protect ourselves from our own stupidity.
Nice fail thread op.
Honestly thought there would be more replies desu tho.
I'll give you a bump I'm interested in other opinions that mine here
>>14018250
>>14018106
Not a whole lot since Teslas need to be replaced at 60,000 miles.
Let me start off by setting the stage:
>Driving in your used RWD 5MT Inline 6 Generic Carfu
>Fill up at the gas station
>Pull out, cross intersection on a green light
>Passing an entry/exit for a grocery store when everything goes apeshit
>Crossover driving Chester "The Texter" Lester has scattered everything from the A pillar and up across the road
>You have back pain, seat belt broke ribs, and airbag annihilated your glasses
>Lacerations on forearms and hands
>Broken fingers, a tooth is missing
>Solid 5 days at the hospital with all the scans and tests
>3 months out of job
>dental and optical bills
So the insurance on the other guy gives you a settlement which will cover all of your medical bills, lost wages, lost property, and pain & suffering. At what point do you lawyer up? I ask because my family was involved in a similar accident when I was young (Mom, Dad, and I) I never understood completely why we went with a lawyer and why my mom later regretted it a few years later.
tl;dr lawyers yes/no
>>14018077
Yes. Lawyer as soon as possible. When I got hit by a car, I fucked up and settled because I didn't think I was hurt that bad. Now coming up on a year later, my back is still fucked and the $5600 I ended up getting out of it will never cover the days I will have to take off work in the future because my back is fucked up.
>>14018077
>>14018164
Also, just because you get a lawyer doesn't mean a long process with court dates. They will probably still settle, but give you something better.
>>14018169
Lawyers aren't saints, they do not have your best interests in mind, and they want to bill you as many hours as possible. Keep this in mind whenever your lawyer nugdes you in the direction of litigation.
What are some good pranks to play on your buds' cars?
>sugar in gas tank
>water in gas tank
>free bumper stickers
>potato in exhaust
All good pranks. Ever been pranked on /o/?
someone took the nissan logo off my grill and replaced it with one that says 5hp
I kept it on.
>>14017874
i had a great prank last year at uni
>friend has some heart problem or high blood pressure thing
>has to take pills every morning
> he wrote wash me on my fucking car
>he goes out to class
>pay back time
>dump out his pill container
>put in sugar pills
i dont think he ever noticed
shaving cream under the door handles is pretty good and harmless
>inb4 damages paint or something autistic
Ok guys. Some of you know my Corolla FX.
It's got the old 4ac engine over 323k miles
I would like some more "pep" and can't decide what engine would be fun, easy, and maybe save a few bucks.
Keep in mind I'll have to change from mechanical fuel pump to high pressure.
>4afe
Easy to find. Lots of parts available. Easy to get the ecu and harness from a junk yard
>7afe
Pretty much the same deal as the 4afe
>4age
I already have two heads lying around and intake and what not. Hard part is finding the ecu and wiring for this car.
>7age
Little more pep. Still harder to find ecu and harness
>20v
Fuck all and go crazy
>other notes
My current engine has brand new seals all around. New timing belt. Doesn't leak a drop of oil. So there's the option of just slapping on a Webber carb and running it till it dies!!!
>measuring engines in pep
>>14017752
webber carb, don't waste time and money on another engine.
its a yota, drive it till it dies
>>14017867
Lol yeah. It's a 2100lb shitbox.
Not going for any HP records here.
Hear me out /o/
>you have a car
>its your only car, your DD
>bought brand new
>youre plannin to drive it til 800k or it explodes
>you fuckin love your car
>lets say you have a new 2015 Honda Accord
>Honda offers an OEM turbo upgrade kit
>all necessary parts/supplies for upgrade are included
>all parts are FREE of charge
>only catch is you have to do the install yourself
>if you look up the install manual and do it yourself, this perfect OEM turbo kit is on yourself for free
>youre a mechanic and can easily do some research on the instal and do it yourself no prob
But for some faggot reason
>you say 'nah, no thanks. the turbo kits not for me. I prefer my underwhelming NA 4cyl
Thats essentially what you c.ucks are doing/saying when you only mod your car and take care of your car but HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A GYM IN YOUR LIVES
do yourself a favour and make fitness a hobby along side cara. Read the sticky on /fit/ and thank me later
I dunno how to explain it but even drivin while bein jacked feela better. U guys gotta start lifting
>>14017750
>u gotta get jacked bro
Nah, amateur boxing, swimming, occasional hill sprints are all I need

Just how bad are these guys? Any Canucks on here ever bought from them? What was your experience? I was thinking of buying one of their pic related but now I'm curious as to what /o/ thinks of them.

I went down there to check out an FD and holy shit that is a lemon orchard if I ever did see one. The dyke who greeted me showed me their selection, then tried to sell me on their Subaru Legacy's and then her boosted Prelude. Because you know a customer looking for a lightweight FR sports car is totally in the market for a AWD luxury sedan or a Honda! When I asked if I could do a test drive they wanted a 1000 dollar deposit. However, noting the trim pieces held together with tape and rusty rotors on many of the cars, I promptly left. Like more dealers, I am sure most of those cars don't move an inch or are serviced unless the kike who runs the place is certain they've locked in on a sale. And given they can't be arsed to even wash the cars, I am sure they haven't seen even the most basic service.
I have heard crazy stories of cars breaking down in the middle of the test drive, so yeah, stay away. If you live in Hongcouver, just buy a STI from a private seller, they are always on CL. You want one that has had the typical Subaru problems ironed out anyway.
Those Japanese cars sit in big lots for ages until they are legal in certain countries and then can go on the auction block.
It all depends on who you have working for you in Japan. Do they have a mechanic or person there to verify the cars condition? Making sure they're getting the best examples of each car?
I duno. I think a lot of people just watch the auctions online and buy whatever comes up because it's so cheap. If they can't sell it
In Canada who cares it only cost them a few thousand.
I duno. I'd run my company way different if i got into that Japanese car business. Only the finest examples would make it through and the rarest of cars. Like alpina and good M models. Cars people would actually want to own. Not shit 1.8 liter four banger bmw z3.
Anyway I heard good things about this place. They're like me and have good taste and high standards. http://www.zenautoworks.ca/sold-vehicles.html they probably have someone in Japan to verify the cars conditions.
Velocity sucks, I was in the market for a JDM import a while ago, and everything I had heard about the place was pretty poor. A lot of the cars are missing their auction sheets, I was down there once, and asked for one to a car I was looking at, and the guy dodged the question.
If you want to buy JDM, do it from a good importer. Brave auto or JDM connection have a good rep. Do your homework.
Post cars with interesting names.
love the Joypop Turbo as far as names go
How about you say that to my face not online
inb4 hairdresser car
Is 2nd Gen DSM any good?
What about the turbo fwd versions?
I saw one on CL, 1998 factory wing so it's either GST or GSX
>auto DSM
nah
>>14017586
>auto
But it's manual
>>14017583
It's probably thrashed so now. They're fine cars that unfortunately became owned largely by retards.
Advice about upcoming replacement for 200k plus mile forester. $33,000.00 gets a brand new 2016 forester top of the line xt w/leather. Also gets 2013 CPO BMW x3 xdrive28i. Also gets 2013 CPO Merc GLK350. So, forester with 0 miles or other 2 with 30,000 - 40,000. I drive long road trips as well as gravel forest roads any condition to get camping. Best advice gets my /o/ face.
>inbefore, buy vw or honda.
>>14017494
Mazda CX5 or CX7 or CX9
Lexus has nice options
Or Toyota Land cruiser
>>14017494
Forester. If you go on gravel and scratch the paint of your "premium" car, you'll become a poor man in no time.
>>14017525
>OP here
Not much into mazda/ford, I tend to go 8 - 10 years between cars. BMW 7 series till 265k, older subaru till 225k, current subaru passing 210k.
>Lexus rx350, rav4 chassis = poor awd config.
>Landy = 14mpg.
>no lowballers
>price is firm
I'm ok with people not wanting to haggle. If the car doesn't interest me I just move on to the next ad.
>>14017371
There's this ford 2002 exploder next door to me with 240k miles on it for sale the last 3 months.
"2500 firm".
It aint goin no where. Ever.

It looks like a fantastic price for all the mods and the KM's as well. Is there anything wrong with this car?
>>14017345
Isn't that 15k Canadian? So more money than USD?
>>14017345
My guess is it's about to crap out.
>>14017397
It's about 12ish in usd.
>>14017397
>Isn't that 15k Canadian? So more money than USD?
Canadian money is worthless compared to the US dollar.
/o/ thinks their so fucking smart
Can you answer why the chicken crossed the road?
It didn't. God told me.
to get to the other side
To get away from his wife
What kind of dumb ass kuck would buy a brz/frs over a miata?
http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-mazda-mx-5-vs-2015-subaru-brz-comparison/
>1:29.91 for the MX-5, 1:31.27 for the BRZ.
>faster on the 1/4 mile
>looks better
They must get really good gas mileage with those Prius tires on them.
Low rolling resistance makes anything a drift machine. Otherwise an underpowered POS with a cheap interior.
>>14017227
Ecoboost stang is a really good car, though.
>>14017200
the kind of kek that likes a real roof and enough interior space for a full grown human.
