Quick Summary: Another night at the drive in, the date is still 3 days away before you ask.
>>13981839
The list has got some people looking around, people know who's who now, you expect the racing to pick up some now.
While Ed and Greg are talking details you ask the group a question.
"Brian here?"
A few people look around, before you're told he isn't there, but probably will be later in the night.
Well sonuvabitch, at least the race between Greg and Ed is going down since it looks like they're done with shit talking, you catch a ride in the back of the racemaster's International to the finish line. Already a good crowd back here and there's more coming through the trees. People must be hyped for the big block vs small block showdown after their banter.
Finally, the cars come around and line up, their paintjobs easily making the race loud before the engines even get wound up. A girl runs over from the starting line crowd to start the race, her arms go down and...
Goddamn! Ed damn sure didn't get off the line like that when you raced him or in his races with Henry. The Camaro still manages to get ahead but that doesn't last long as the Nova starts walking away, you know that 327 comes alive on down the road but can it hold off a 396 that's hanging around close?
They get closer and closer, the Camaro still hanging and maybe even pulling a little, but it looks like it's already over for him, this race was decided by the launch. Ed's Nova takes the win with the Camaro's front at the door!
If Ed's got it launching like that combined with the killer top end it's always had, taking him out is going to be tough. Don't guess it's going to be a problem for a while, you still have 5 cars to go through, the '55 might need some work...
>>13986600
On the way back you notice the 442 is here, 5 star timing on his part. Looks nice with it's black paint, black steelies, redline tires, and red stripe going down the side. Tires don't look like anything special as far as tread or width goes, no sign of the owner. He's probably up there ordering food... or he could be that guy checking out the '55.
A) Go see if the guy checking out the '55 wants to run.
B) Check out the 442, wait for him to get back.
C) Mingle with the race crowd.
D) Call it a night.
Hey OP did you skip 21 on the thread number?
>>13986601
I changed the tires on a 69 olds 442 today at work. Red convertible.
Congratulations, the members have voted you to become the new president of the prestigious National Society for the Preservation of Automotive Culture and History.
The last years have been uneventful and to increase publicity and credibility you've decided to rent space in your capital's downtown for the new offices. There's round about a million dollars of the budget left and it's your job to decorate the ground floor showroom with a representative handful of car models to reflect the interests of the organisation.
What do you pick?

Yes it lost, but if you look at the details you'll see that in the tighter corners the Corvette is pulling more g force. Why is this?

hey /o/
Does anybody knows if there are aftermarket flatplane crankshafts for the coyote 5.0 found in normal mustangs?
Is the flatplane in the 5.2 compatible?
>>14027410
I feel like you'd have to do a lot more than change the crankshaft.
(Wouldn't you?)
>>14027496
the firing order and fuel delivery, i would like to think the crank is alreay balanced
there are flatplane kits for LSx engines, and those are the mods needed for it iirc
>>14027434
It's not, the 5.2 is a whole different motor.
For my first car I want an odd looking car that doesn't cost more than 2G. It doesn't even have to be powerful, just look fucking weird.
I'd like it to look like a hybrid of Mad Max and something out of Rob Zombie. I have an uncle who can make sculptures and he said he'd make me some fake exhaust pipes and hood ornaments if I wanted.
Any ideas ? I'm willing to pay for paint jobs and such, I'd just like to drive around in something that looks like it could take on the end of the world (but doesn't really need to have the power too) and gets more than 25 MPG.
You will just look like a faggot.
>>14027169
I don't care.
I'd also like it to be street legal, if that wasn't obvious.
Something that looks PA isnt going to get 25 MPG.
Beautiful Cars Thread.
Pic Related is probably my all time favorite aesthetically.

First track day tomorrow, any tips?
get a tire guage
use it, i know what works in my car
be a fucking moron and don't let anyone pass you so that you can get good lap times compared to the people you are blocking
Yeah take it slow for 3-4 laps and let loose, cool off study the track again, go hard for a little bit, you'll start noticing the the cars weaknesses.
Usually it's tires or cooling system. You should bring a fire extinguisher if drive a vette, a temp gun, small air compressor to adjust tire psi, some small tools, absolutely bring a torque wrench for your nuts.
You'll probably notice by a few laps your shifting could use some work, slow down if you have to learn what your shifter likes when your practically power shifting
How does one go about finding the car they want off of craigslist if they don't live in the city?
I'm a 19 year old and i've been driving this 2003 v6 auto vert mustang for a while, it's sorta growing old. I bought it for 2500, which everyone I talk to says was a great deal considering it's condition (it has a broken compressor and a few scratched on the paint but is overall in great condition especially the engine even at 176k miles) so I was going to see if I could fix the A/C and flip it for 3k to pursue a new car.
That would be the easy part, i've searched my local craigslist and I can hardly find anything good at all let alone something i'm interested in. I live in south carolina, near columbia to be exact which is the capital but it's small compared to others, hardly even a city at that, but still the most populated part of the state, and I find garbage.
I'm trying to find a CRX, which I realize is high hopes for a car from the 80s, but even 90s cars like a 240sx or an eg civic are hard to find in extremely shitty condition. I'm not talking riced out, i'm talking fucked up panels, stripped interior, and lucky to even crank up
I don't care if the car is auto or not, I just want something I can enjoy instead of driving a shitty mustang.
all the cars you listed are old and hard as fuck to find good condition anywhere
>>14026083
Never had a prob with mine.
>>14026083
CRX's sure, but EG civics and 240sx's aren't that old, plus cars from the mid 2000s are obviously going to be more expensive which isn't optimal
i'm trying to stay around $3000
I just bought my first manual and I'm still learning.
What are some tips and general information about driving stick
Pic related my new toy

>>14025603
It's definitely a scooter.
>>14025606
But is it a gud scooter compared to other scooters in the same displacement category & price range?
>>14025622
Yeah, it's the best 125 scooter you can get
Buy used tho, don't pay more than 1500
>muh laptimes

Pro drift or just slide like a fuktard.
Either way i don't think you should drift if you are looking for cheap car then you can't afford tires suspension upgrade or a busted head lamp when you hit a guard rail.
>>14024948
literally any car can drift
