So, the season finale is upon us. Some had good races, most had bad races, but we all agree on one thing.
Unmoon is a pedophile furfag.
3rd for rF2 is shit.
I pulled the trigger, it'll be here in 6 months.
That's a slow gun.

Will take a while to get manufactured because Honda fired a lot of workers here in yurop, too bad, but worth the wait.
>>14028475
Hatchbacks are gay to me but I like your purchase
Hey could we get a vin thread going? The last one 404'd
If a vinbro could run a check on this car I'm looking at buying that'd be awesome, it seems too good to be true
I present payment of wild Ferrari ass

>taking up 4 spots
Pretty douchey, even if it is a very expensive car. Somebody could even take extra exception and fuck with your paint or tires.
>>14028323
lol
Rich people have constantly shown they do not give a fuck about your "parking lines."
They'll lawyer up and just make the government waste money on prosecuting them.

Looking at getting this old 911.

Hello /o/, that's my very first time posting on this board. /b/ sent me here, I also got some decent advice and tips about the car from them.
I wanted to ask you guys about Mazda RX-8, pretty much everything I need to know about the engine and the maintenance of it.
I've been saving money for it and I finally got enough to afford buying one.
>2005 year
>231 HP
>Manual Shifts
>110000 km
>3650€
I got no mechanical skills, but I really want to own one. Mazda is one of my favorite brands and the RX-8 is my favorite model.
Im afraid I will not have enough money to take care for it, especially when it comes up to the engine (which /b/ said is especially expensive to maintenance)
Anyway /o/, give me your honest opinion, every advice that will be useful to a guy buying this car with no knowledge of cars at all.
It's a wankel rotary engine. DO NOT buy one without researching what this means for your maintenance schedule, how to drive it, etc. For example, rotary engines require being revved much higher than piston engines do, since otherwise they build up carbon.
/o/ absolutely fucking hates the RX-8 though so good luck getting advice here. You'll just 1000 replies about apex seals. Try a dedicated rotary forum instead.
Also it's not exaggerating to say that the RX-8 will require a rebuild after approximately 100,000 km. The factory ended up paying for a lot of them, at least during the early years, since the engine blew up so often (not necessarily Mazda's fault; retards buy them and treat them like a normal engine). If that one hasn't been replaced under warranty, it's due to blow up soon.
Good luck but I'm not a rotary expert so I really can't help you that much.
It's going to take dedication to own. The unique engine requires more preventive maintenance, will need to be rebuilt more often, and it also has worse gas milage than equivalent cars for the power.
>>14028193
>>14028196
You could also buy it and swap in a different engine. But that's gonna take some effort and additional money.
Am i high mileage yet?
its in km
Why do you have a CPU sticker on your dash?
>>14028172
I have WAT sticker on my laptop so why not
>Hey /o/ look at muh blue dials!
Look at em!
Look!
Besides tires (which I plan to upgrade in the future) how can I make my DD handle better?
>pic related, my 03 Mirage
Lower it, stiffer springs, increase camber, and lower profile tires should make it corner like its on rails
Sway bars and properly calibrated springs+shocks. Anything else would be overkill and/or diminishing returns.
strip the interior
lightweight battery
fuel cell
corner weight it
replace all fasteners with titanium
only one seat
buy lighter wheels
remove a/c if it even has it
you're welcome
Has anyone here ever had a shady mechanic try to rip you off only for him to find out that you're not completely ignorant when it comes to auto repair?
Also, botched repair/incompetent mechanic/scam-artist horror stories in general.
Mine:
>Get $50 Jiffy Lube gift card from GF
>She knows I change my own oil
>Whatever
>Better use it or I'll look ungrateful
>Not going to let Jiffy Lube get their grimy hands on my Mustang
>Bring in my beat-up 87 Nissan work truck
>"I'd like an oil change"
>Here comes the up-sale
>Politely decline wiinlsdeinfleldleildield wipers adn a coolant flush
>Should be out of here in a few minutes
>Start flipping through the magazines in the lobby
>Employee comes back in with some thick, dirty, oily fluid on his fingers
>Suggests I get my power-steering fluid replaced
>"Yeah yeah yeah, sure, whatever"
>It's not like I'm paying for it
>Employee goes back out
>Start flipping through magazines again
>Wait
>Power steering?
>POWER STEERING???
>Start laughing
>This Nissan HAS NO POWER STEERING
>Let them finish the 'work'
>Get the invoice
>Play the 'mechanically illiterate' customer
>"Hey can you show me where to put the power-steering fluid in so if I ever need to do it myself I know where to put it?"
>Guy starts mumbling, trying to change the subject, and tripping over his words trying come up with an excuse that doesn't sound suspicious to get me out of there without looking under the hood
>Keep playing ignorant
>"All you gotta do is just show me where. You don't explain how the system works or anything lol"
>He finally obliges
>He's obviously nervous
>Barely opens hood and points in the general direction of the steering column and closes the hood real quick
>Immediately tries to start a conversation about the weather to change the subject
>"I didn't see where you pointed, can you show me again? The hood should have one of those things to prop it up."
>Opens hood again
>Sits quietly for a second
>Can't wait to see what he does next
>continued....
OP here Continued from >>14028099
>Employee decides to go all in against my bluff
>Points to radiator cap
>"Oh... I see. Can you open it?"
>Says he can't
>Decides to go deeper into the lie
>Starts going on about how the powersteering system is sealed and that it can only be by the factory to keep it 'balanced'
>"Oh is that so? So how did you change it then?"
>Never tried so hard to keep a straight face.
>I'm in utter disbelief that he just didn't try to point out that the cap says do not remove when hot
>He starts talking about how he actually meant that the factory AND Jiffy Lube were the only ones who can open the system
>"Oh ok. Can you open it?"
>Starts saying "Well uh we can't open it when it's hot. We have to let it cool down for like an hour or two because see the cap says so and that it's like dangerous and stuff."
>Well I guess he did decide to go with the warning on the cap as an excuse
>"But you just opened it like 10 mintues ago and you didn't let it cool down"
>At this point he's trying to throw together a whole bunch of automotive terms into some sort of incoherent explanation about why he can't show me.
>He stops talking and stares at me awkwardly hoping to god that I just leave and stop digging deeper
>It's apparent by his terrified expression that he is starting to realize that I've been on to him this whole time
>Begins apoligizing profusely and tells me he'll refund my money and stuff and buy me another gift card to make up for it
>"Why the fuck would I want another Jiffy Lube gift card??"
>Starts stuttering and apoligizing more and gets out his wallet and tries to offer me other things as compensation
>Fuck yeah
>Leave without being charged, a $50 cash refund for the gift card, and a Chipotle gift card with $33.17 still left on it.

Hehehe
>>14028106
Heh, love those
I was a college student, but then
>>>/biz/994622
happened.
So now I'm trying to hop into some other form of training or education before taking a long walk off a short pier.
I have some friends that seem to be doing pretty well that went here.
>>14027874
UTI is alright from what I hear.
You should obtain your degree in 1 year, and they set you up with a job to help pay for your school, and the apartment that they set you up in with 3 other guys.
Mechanic field is hell, though. It shouldn't be a consideration for you.
>>14027894
That's funny, I've heard the polar opposite.
-You only get a certificate, not an actual degree (this one's a fact)
-No job placement, you get the paper and you're on your own
-Little chance you'll actually qualify for housing assistance
-Four times as expensive as CC with less overall instruction
-Completion time depends on how quickly you learn/work
Just go to a CC auto program or, better yet, find a different profession. The novelty of turning wrenches professionally wears off extremely quick and you probably won't make more than about $50k/yr. doing it, and that's after many, many years.
This and the military were the only immediate options I could think of.>>14027894
I was going to go for diesel repair since most industrial engines tend to be diesel. I'm not sure how to get to working on trains from UTI, but I figured that would be an interesting diesel mechanic gig.
My dream job is working for a biomed company but that is no longer an option in my life lol. At least not for years.
post recent photos you've taken, just got back from a small meet
I like Aston Martins.
Do you like Aston Martins, /o/?
>>14027352
Best interior and looks of any car
>>14027352

I like DB7s
>Doesn't drive a snek
>must be a kek

>>14027331
There's a lot of kekoldry in modern America, no joke. Sometime's it's not literal, but it's extremely common.
>>14027344
>snek thread
>bringing up fucking GM again
Reminder M3 a shit
>>14027166
i would take the m3 please tbhfam
>>14027280
same.
BMW will get you a vapid teenager
Mustang will get you some 50+ old biker broad
Is this a good deal? http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/5313510284.html
And more in general, how do you tell a good used Rolls Royce?
>>14026960
funny you bring this up, shop I delivered to today had one of these up on a hoist, you know how much the customer was spending to fix a minor problem with the suspension?
9800$
think about that if you really wanna buy an old used ultraluxury car
I wouldn't think so. From a 'comfort' stand point, any modern car with a top trim will outshine that.
Next, you'll have all of the high maintenance costs, but none of the prestige. No one will look at that and immediately go "OH SHIT, IT"S A ROLLS ROYCE", unless they're familiar with the Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood, and that's something I'd categorize as 'uncommon' knowledge.
So no, I wouldn't buy it.
>>14026982
>$9800
What are the next hypercars in the pipeline?
.
Whatever it is, it's gonna have a bad time if it doesn't beat the snek.
>>14026684
Bugatti whatever.
>>14026690
That thing is basically a racecar.
At least, people who know about racecars have said that it's basically a racecar.
