I've always liked the 67 four door impala.
I want to drop an LS3 into one, and make it act like a 2014 Camaro SS.
What all do I need to do? Literally spell everything out, I know only just slightly more than a rock about cars.

>inb4 Supernatural bandwagon fag.
I just hate having to climb over seats, and I like the posted model more anyways.

Put 500lbs of weights in the trunk

Save up $100k and have a performance shop do the work.

Is it that bad?

$5,000 car.
$12,000 at most engine.

Would it really cost 100G's? I see like, 25 at most.

should I bother upgrading my ecoboost mustang's intercooler? is it worth the cost? and if I did upgrade it, would I have to have it tuned?

I've heard aftermarket CAIs are basically snake oil that just makes the car a little louder, but that the factory intercooler for the mustangs gets heat soaked pretty quickly. I'd like to be able to drive it kind of hard for around 3-4 hours through mountains.

upgraded/properly sized intercoolers are a big benefit. and no, you wont have to tune it. The onboard software will compensate for it because it wont take you that far out of stock parameters. And no, it wont give you a hp boost. but yes, it will help with heat soak if they are too tiny from factory.
>>
>>14040420
They help with heat soak but offer.no gains without tuning. If I were you I'd get an accessport or an exhaust before upgrading the intercooler.

Not sure if the 2.3 is anything like the 1.6 but the Fiesta also has oil heat issues.
>>
>>14040420
>aftermarket CAIs are basically snake oil
This isn't true. A CAI can provide benefits if the airbox is restrictive and sucking in hot air from the engine bay. A CAI isn't going to fix an intercooler that's getting heatsoaked. It might help if the stock intake is pulling in hot air from the bay.

Also lol at people thinking a modern vehicle needs a "tune" for a CAI or SRI.

>>14039460
Yeah... if you're trying to do this on your own without a private space to keep the car and it's parts (AKA a garage) you're fucked.

Second best bet is to try and "intern" at some repair shops, just go to the nearest legit shop that's not corporate run and talk with the owner, see if he'll let you come over and take a look at how they do things in your free time, do this enough, involve yourself a bit with simple repairs while watching how the big jobs get done.

does your car require 91 octane? do you always buy it?

The lowest octane rating you can get in my country is 95. Cars requirement is 95 octanes, although im not sure. I would have to check the owners manual.

So I work at a grocery store in Arizona and there is an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot. Checked it out and it turns out it's a 1991 Subaru legacy wagon RS. I talked to the police and they said that if I wanted it then I would have to pay all the registration fees and towing costs, after 90 day waiting period.
Question is, I have no idea what the condition the engine and transmission are in, so should I go for it??

NISSAN IS DEAD

http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/12/what-the-hell-has-happened-to-nissan/

What can you anons say about Nissan these days? Back then they were always the talk of town with legends like the Silvia, Skyline and Z. Hell, even their sedans can be based as fuck. Now we got ugly ass crossovers that no kid and grandparents want and cancelled would be's that non of the old "honoraouble" farts would take a second glance, clearly we're not being loud or people just don't care

All this touting about the GT-R is still just halo car bullshit too anyway.

There are no mid play cars.

Now it's.

/o/ doesn't care. Nissan is the second coming of Jesus because it made a car that can beat a car which costs half as much around a race track.

Yes it is, they put all their money into their one trick pony, and as a result, screwed over people who aren't rich by abolishing their Z line after a decade long pitiful existence and refusing to produce another cheap sports car, something Subaru and Mazda at the very least obliged.

This car defies logic.

>barely over 100k
>has interior comforts like A/C, navigation, and radio
>dinosaur pushrod that only makes 77 hp/L
>no active aero, no magride, no flappy paddles, no high tech gimmicks
>faster than engineering marvels that cost ten times as much
>13 track records worldwide

How is this physically possible? And more importantly, why is it selling so poorly that it'll be cancelled next year?
83 posts and 19 images submitted.
>>
>>14037998
because this car is hand made by niggers in Detroit which is the equivalent of German jet fighters being made by Jews in a labor camp.
>>
>>14037998
>And more importantly, why is it selling so poorly that it'll be cancelled next year?

Because people who could afford them don't want them and people who want them can't afford them.

Also, it's because while the aero isn't active and the suspension isn't magride, the aero is still horrifyingly effective at providing useful downforce and the suspension is fully adjustable from the factory and extremely well designed.

memes aside how would a light rwd compare to a FWD counterpart. If you were to put an 86 vs the new type r for example would the 86 have an edge due to the inherent performance orientated nature of the RWD platform?
>>
>>14034620
The modern 86 isn't really set up all that well off the showroom floor, and the modern Type R is extremely well set up. It'd be no contest, Type R winning.

>>14034620
The new type r is an outlier that we do not include in these debates.

Any of you fags done a coast to coast trip on rented car?
2 Finnish supreme gentlemen planning a such trip for the upcoming summer; the plan:
- 3-4 weeks driving across states and visiting as many interesting places as we can squeeze in the timeline
- renting one way v6 / v8 camaro / mustang

The main concern is budget, will 6-8k$ be enough for such trip?
We are 25 and 26 years old, so renting shouldn't be that expensive..?

bump by a Latvian supreme gentleman
was actually planning the same
>>
>>14042696
I've done the trip a few times. Not in a rented vehicle though.
I believe the camaro has more room.
I'm not personally aware of how renting a car goes. I know there's weeks based contracts, but I also believe you have to pay for miles or something. But being over 25 really helps, something about the magic age of 25 makes things cheaper, but do put the oldest as the primary. And DO buy the insurance.

When I did it, it was always on a small budget. About $800. Covered gas and some decent food and loads of red bull.

Idk if the camaro or mustang is the best choice for a road trip, but I assume you plan on some hooning.

I also slept in my vehicles so I didn't pay for hotels. I know you can get some really cheap ones for like $20/night, but they're sketchy.
Something you could do is bring camping gear so you can set up somewhere instead of a hotel.
And idk what exactly you'd want to do, so I don't know what you'd be spending on.
But 8k should make for a decent, but not the greatest trip.

My friends and I have been wanting to do this for some time, but we plan to bring about 5k each. So a total of 20k. This is in a like 5-8 year plan though.

If I were you I would shoot for like $10k.
>>
That should be enough. I did it back with my girl at the time and we did almost two months of travel in a v8 ford conversion van. Of course we lived like peasants and slept in the van most of the time. I wouldn't recommend that, you'd be surprised how cranky you get when you never get a proper shower and sleep in Wal-marts all the time.
