Why the hell are Krawlers so expensive? What advantage domthey have over the KM2 other than a more coarse tread? My Jeep has Krawlers all the way around, but my spool chews them up. So, I can spend $1000 on two Krawlers or spend $1000 on a new set of tires including a spare.

It's worth saying, I've never gotten stuck with the Krawlers.

General off-road thread, pic related is my XJ

Good drivetrains, you may or may not have some electrical demons. Watch for rust. Watch engine temp when you test drive- all 3 of my XJs have run hot, all 3 needed new thermostats. I'll post more as I think of it. Oh and keep up with suspension maintenance to prevent that death wobble.

Because its a competition-level tire marketed for buggies that do extreme shit off road. Plenty of cheaper alternatives available. KM2, MTR, or a Toyo MT would probably perform just as well for your application.

Yea, they kinda look like a Beluga whale, but that's really the only downside.

They made over a million of then between 1995 and 200, nevermind the 1990-1994 first generation models

Hey guys,
this weekend i'm preventively changing my head gasket : my shitbox is a 1983 Volvo 740 and it's running great, not eating oil.
The thing is that I got a wet head gasket in one point, and that even after 200+km in dry conditions.
that's why I want to replace it, before it breaks and tries to fuck my head unit

anyway, here's what I plan to do :

>Once the head removed

>clean the block/head surface
>chek the block/head for cracks/and deformations
>clean the block threads really well
>clean the new bolts
>clean the oil/water wells

>Before gasket positionning

>Clean and degrease very well the head/block surfaces
>clean and degrease the gasket
>place the gasket on the block surface, gasket facing the right way
>Put the head back on with the help of two straws to help position it
>grease the place where the head bolts sit
>oil the bolt threads evenly
>screw the bolt in place without tightening
>tighten each screw at 50% of the recommandation and following the pattern
>fully tighten following the pattern
>check tightening and reassemble

Am I forgetting anything ? while i'm at it I'll change the timing belt and the water pump

Get a proper straight edge to measure the head for warping
Get a sharpening stone to go over the deck of the block
make sure to buy NEW head bolts or ARPs
maybe retighten the head bolts after 2 heat cycles.

I don't know what you mean... like sanding the block surface ?

Got new bolts, and checking tension seems like a great idea

thanks

Do you drive fast, or slow?
Are you aggressive, or passive?
Do you like to pass everyone up, or just sit in the right lane going 5 over the limit?

I have a 35 one way drive to work. Speed limit is 60, everyone is going 75-80 except semi trucks, and the occasional asshole going the speed limit slowing everyone around them down.

Got a new car, shit is getting awful gas mileage doing what I do. Going 80-90 the entire way, passing everyone up, I get 22 mpgs. Car is rated for 32
Said fuck it, and started to drive "slow"
Set cruise, sit at 65 in a 60, getting 32-35mpgs now.
Get to work 10 minutes later, but save on gas.

What I did notice that this is very, and I mean very relaxing just sitting in the right lane and occasional passing up someone.
When I drove like I did before I got so infuriated with cunts in the left lane either not passing, passing slow as hell, not moving over. I would flash my lights, honk at them, flip them off. Yell at them. Just work myself up.

But all of this week I've been driving like a grandpa. I dont have to get all worked up with cunts hogging the left lane.
I personally dont like being passed by faster traffic, to me that feels wrong, but fuck it. Sitting in the right lane, driving "slow" on the highway is much more relaxing. And I feel better at work. Even at 5 over the limit, I still pass up slow ass cunts.

I'm a bit of a mix. Aware of my surroundings, but a frequent passer because I speed but don't camp the left lane. If I'm just cruising for fun, I sit in the right lane at the limit and relax.

I do get irritated by left lane campers, though, because there's always somebody doing 10 under the right lane that slows down even more if you creep up on them, and lane campers make it impossible to pass.
>>
>>14056455
just cruise bout 5-10 above the speed limit at all times desu unless im in a 25 zone cause kiddies crossing streets etc
>>
Someone just needs to come up with an app that shames people who drive ignorantly. It not only causes traffic to be backed up, but is actually dangerous.

I have an opportunity to buy a 2002 grand prix for 200$ will a blown motor. Body is in good shape but it needs and engine obviously. Have any of you guys ever swapped a 3800? I think it might be an interesting project if I could get it all put together and not even spend $1000.

What do you guys think?

Can I fight this /o/?
I have no money and am currently fighting an unrelated court case I am innocent of.
>I think I am not supposed to be driving as terms of my bail but am not sure
I don't want my parents to find out about it because of the previous reason (yes I am 19 and living with my parents).
Should I try to fight it?
The cop was nice and said I was going faster than he wrote on the ticket but I don't want it to fuck up my other shit if convicted.
Should I just try to fight it in court or find a way to make $120 within 2 weeks?
Thanks guys.
>I ain't proud of it, nor do I imagine I'm any good at it, but I'll suck your dick or w/e if you'll help me pay it off and you're around Olympia, WA.

I'd rather let my padres know then do that.
Trust me, they'd know if something was up if I sold my console and/or any games for it.

I'm not trying to dissuade ideas but, do you have any other ones?
That one doesn't really help -_-
>>
I think your best bet is to fight it. It costs nothing and there's at least a chance it will be dismissed.
