Let's talk about Michigan-specific stuff.
What roads are best to drive on, police incidents, events, stores, whatever.
I'm in Southfield (Metro Detroit). One thing I've always wondered is how Detroit does as far as traffic. Do we have have average traffic/backups on our roads and freeways? I always wondered if the depopulation of Detroit would render some roads that were built for high volumes of traffic empty. If that happened, I never noticed it.
Where do the rest of you SE Michigan br/o/s go to drive for fun? I've thought of going into Detroit due to the lack of police presence, but if I broke down there it could get ugly. Going out to the country usually just results in a lot of going straight in my experiences. Where do you guys go?
why don't we talk about the fact that the light on the top of the michigan cruisers look like something Gru's minions from despicable me would put on a vehicle and yell BEE-DO BEE-DO BEE-DO

I guess it's cool that they're all about >muh heritage
but it looks like somebody left their jumbo sized gummy dot on the roof of the car

Ah yes, the famed bubble gum light. It does look pretty ridiculous. And unnecessary too now that they are using LEDs. I dunno though, it doesn't hurt that much from the overall look. The MSP Chargers scare the shit out of me just by their aesthetics. I think the bubble gum light might even help make it scarier. I think it looked most ridiculous on Crown Vicorias.
>pic related is apparently a big deal because it has 1500bhp

Add 500lbs of sound deadening to the vette and hire a Persian designer to pimp out the interior. There you go.

>implying shitgattis arent bought exclusively by sandniggers who buy them just to say they have the fastest car in the world

Would you buy this? I feel like the price is ~$1500 too high, but it's basically exactly what I want. Think I can negotiate that much down? I know it's been sitting on the lot for a little less than two months, so I'm hoping they really want to move it.
>>17693706
O shit they lowered the price by 500. Used to be 15 grand. Neat.

I feel like you could do much better for that price

No. I'd get something actually good. pay cash for manual, non-riced first gen tsx or 3rd gen tl.
>Rob Spaghetti holds a contest for having 500k subscribers

>shipped it out from NYC to California with his own money
>winner of the BMW does donuts with it and sells it on craiglist
So would have kept a car you have won or sell it?
>>17693580
It's his car he can do whatever he wants with it. Especially if what he a wants to do is sell it to someone who will actually give a fuck about it.
Rob Dahm?
I would have kept it in my garage and started a YouTube channel based on it just to keep up the momentum.
I wonder how the contest winner was picked.
>>17693599
From what I gather Rob offered to sell the car and do a cash payout rather than ship the car cross country out of his pocket. The winner refused and made him ship the car but then posted it up for sale shortly after ripping some hectic skids.
Rob didn't even care that he sold it, he just said he'd rather of sold it himself to avoid the hassle of shipping it in the first place.
>you should buy x car anon, there's lots of documentation for maintenance and mods!
There's a chrome add-on that fixes it, but I use Firefox.
It fucking destroyed r3vlimited and I'm pissed about it.

Just a short PSA, this guy:
>has more money than you
>has better cars than you
>is a better driver than you
>has much nicer driving shoes than you
>can heel toe better than you
>gets WAY more women than you
>has better dress sense than you
>wears nicer clothes and watches than you
>is better looking than you
>probably could bench more than you
>has more friends than you
>is smarter than you
Basically, he's winning at life, you really are pathetic by comparison.
At least I can see color.

Torn between both of the cars after test driving them and came here to see the opinions, recommendations and advice of others.
I'll be looking to purchase in the next couple of weeks and will be driving the car as my daily for quite a while (8-10 years) especially if you're dropping 100K+ on these things.
This board is full of shitposting busriders and will not be able to offer you any solid advice. My personal pick would be a lower trim 911 for more luxuries and no aero parts, but I have a boner for porsche.
>>17692416
So like a GTS?
>>17692404
I wouldn't get the GTR. It's so overplayed and has the most toxic community. Plus it's a Nissan. The same company that makes the Nissan Sentra, the cheapest new car available.
Would you rather say "I own a Porsche" or "I own a Nissan"?
Should i replace these? They look somewhat worn...

She'll be right mate
My wife has a 2008 hyundai sonata that we bought used. She blew a fuse under the dash and upon inspection I saw this. It was hardwired into another fuse and grounded to the dash. I disconnected it to see what would happen and nothing as far as I can tell. I've never seen anything like it but I'm by no means a mechanic. What is it?
Another pic. Appears to have two lights on it one saying "c" and one saying "g" underneath.
Back side of it
Well, any idea what it was connected to?
If I traded in my 2013 STI (worth $20-25k)
What would you buy? my budget is $30-40k
Here's a list of cars I've been test driving:
>BMW
M235i
M240i
M3
550i
440i
They are all relatively fast, but are uncomfortable
>Audi
S5
RS5
S6/S7 4.0T
I like the 4.0T S6/S7 the most. The RS5 was N/A and a bit slow
>Mercedes
C63, feels like a European taxi cab with a V8
SL63, I liked this but the steering was too dull
RX7 for 20, spend 15 on the cooling system/turbo and rebuilding the motor so it'll be mint.
>>17691915
If i would do something like that, it would be a 964 or 993 Targa, and I would leave it all tattered and gutted
I'm not interested in restoring a Rx7.
How Important is engine displacement in the grand scheme of thing?
for instance I have a 2.5litre regular stock engine making about 170bhp.
But lets say some sports car has a 2.0litre turbo that does 333bhp.
How economically/efficiently can I increase engine output of a bone stock engine?
Is better in the long run to pay the extra 5,000$ for the "sport" model, or to take a stock and use aftermarket parts?
A lot of this depends on the specific engine you're talking about.
Let's say you have a Chevrolet 305, and you want to make power. As it happens, the 305 has a relatively small bore and as a result, it can't fit big valves, which in turn results in limited airflow, effectively choking it at high RPM (where the engine isn't getting the air it needs to make power).
In this specific instance it's very much worth it to go for the bigger, more powerful 350, which has a bigger bore, does have room for big valves and doesn't get choked at higher RPMs, so it's real easy to get even more power out of.
Now let's take and Audi 80/90 with the 2.3 liter 10-valve inline 5. Essentially the lowest level of that engine, not unlike the Chevy 305.
However, since the block is the same as the 20-valve and even 20-valve turbo versions, everything that works for those will work for it, too. When properly built, even what started out as a lowly 2.3 liter making about 133hp, can hit 1000hp.
tl;dr: depends on which engine you're talking about, OP.
>>17691891
Wow an actual good response
>>17691860
What if I told you, that for each atmosphere of boost, you double power, in a perfect world.
Using this concept, you can now understand displacement and why turbo 4cyls can make power.
Obviously, the higher the power an engine makes without boost, the better. So higher displacement is better. No matter what retards driving Hondas say.
