If i tune my ecoboost mustang will it explode? like, i foolishly bought one but i have never trusted american quality and trying to make it crank out any additional power kind of terrifies me. i feel like it'll blow a hole in the block or something if i try and churn 40 extra ft/lbs of torque out of it.

Hi /o/

So last week I was at a car meet and there was this a old dude that was selling his 1975 Mitsubishi Lancer Celeste for 5000$. The car was rust free and pretty well taken care off.

Now I'm good friends with guy that works at a garage that specifically builds 4g63t engines. He has connections with the guys at Buschur Racing so he knows his DSM stuff. I went to him and asked and he told me has a slightly stock 6 bolt 4g laying around that he overhauled. He told me he'll help me with the build if I plan on going thru with it.

I was planning on buying a new car with this cash I've saved up but this build has got me thinking. Before I post this on a car forum I wanted to get my br/o/'s opinion on this. Should I do it or buy a new car?

I have a work truck for work/ daily driver. But for the weekends, I have my girlfriend's econobox Civic. I've saved enough to buy something in the ~$12,000 range. I've never owned a manual fun "sporty" car, but I am interested in the '05+ Mustang GT's, or thr Pontiac GTO/ G8. I also do a tiny bit of off roading, where a 2WD pickup would be plenty to get the job done. And after driven a 5.7L Ram, and chevies with regearing, of 4.10's or 3.92's or w/e, they really haul ass.

What do you guys think?

I am 29 years old, I have lived in the same apartment by myself for nearly 11 years now living off weekly allowance with books, manga, anime, vidya, music, film, and car magazines
always loved cars but never was able to drive one hahahaha
the most i have is the karting ive done at the local track for 10 years
i've been saving up allowance through fasting and abstaining from other purchases
i want to buy a car so i can go out into the world
anyway
i hope you guys will offer me your expertise
