I ask because the internet recommends 5w40 in my car, but the manual recommends 5w30. i'd hate to get shat on for using oil that deviates from the manufacturer spec.
yeah it's actually against the law to not use the manufacturer recommended oil.
they have little scales they use to weigh droplets of oil, and most wont let you leave until an officer arrives to write you a ticket.
>>14160915
Lmao
Yeah OP you're fucked
They never even look at that if your concern is engine related they will probably just have a visual inspection of the oil level/condition but I have never heard of dealerships checking oil by analysis.
I run 5W40 in my Crown Victoria which calls for 5W20
I run 5W50 in my Maxima which calls for 5W30 and 5W40 in temps above 18 celsius
I run 5W50 in my 350z which also calls for the same as the maxima
Why are sticker clogged rear ends so common in Burgerland while they're generally frowned upon everywhere else?

Anyone know how to rewire the Teletouch system to a manual transmission? I hate automatics and am fine with pushing a button to accelerate. Just a bit nervous about fucking with it.
What exactly happened to the brand?
Mitsubishi? Da faq even happened !!!!!!!
From this to
Now
RWD. AWD
Now fucking FWD? DA FAQ EVEN HAPPENING
Eclipses were always FWD with AWD as an option, Corey.
Short answer is everything they made was garbage aside from the Evo so they're pulling the plug for the world market at least.
>mfw the eclipse was infinitely faster than the EVO due to superior FF

Do you have a certain part of your car that you love or catches your attention
You love a car for its combination of different features that you like, not a single individual one
Kinda the way a lasagna is some of the best food you'll ever have, but you don't go "THE CHEESE IS THE ONLY NOTICEABLE THING". Sure, a part of the car may be a bit more noticeable and unusual, but that doesn't mean it would be anything if the rest of the car really did not fit it
>>14160414
He's just asking if there's a particular part of your car that you especially like. Perhaps the rear end or the dash is especially pleasing to you, or something in that regard.

What that guy said. You sperged out for no reason.
Okay, /o/, I'm moving to Japan in two months, and I'm going to be in an area where having a car is a good idea. I'll have a budget of about 300,000 yen before shaken, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of car I should get. I drive a Mazda and like it, so I'd like to stick to that brand if possible. My top choice is an NA Roadster (which would be old enough for me to bring back). If not that, an Atenza wagon. If not that, a Demio. I was originally considering a kei car, but a top speed of 80 mph is a bit slow for me.
What else should I consider? Anything that's easy to wrench? (I'm a beginner to DIY repair)
Pic unrelated.

Long term Japanfag here working for a parts export company and have owned 8 cars over 10 years period (exported 4 of them).
You will need about double your budget to get a shitty NA on the road. However, shitty by Japanese standards is probably good where you come from so not a big deal.
I would budget 1 million yen to get a proper car on the road, that is worth taking back with you. That is for an ordinary car. For a performance car, or anything even remotely popular, I'd add another 500,000 yen to you 1 mil budget.
Trust me on this, it is so easy to go wrong here with dud cars it's unbeliveable (mainly because most cars look good on the outside and have odometers that read half their actual mileage).

Best used car to buy for a teenager? My son was just involved in a wreck in a little Toyota Yaris and it was totalled so I'm looking for something a little sturdier but with the same kind of gas mileage. Thanks!

I had a friend help me change the spark plug wires while I was changing the spark plugs. He's never done anything like this besides change the oil without my help. He asked me if the wires mattered since they were all different lengths and I told him as long as the wires went in the right place then everything was fine.
I guess he crossed a wire and now it doesn't turn on, it only cranks and that is it. It will randomly attempt to turn on, but that is it.
A mechanic said something about the timing being off, which is why the truck will not turn on; which I highly doubt. I'm thinking it has something to do with the distributor or the ignition.
>>14160138
Okay? If all he did was change the plugs and wires (and if he helped why weren't you watching asshole) then just get the firing order from online and make sure they are correct. That's it. problem solved faggot.
>>14160167
I changed the spark plugs under the truck while he was on the top changing the wires. I wouldn't trust him to do the job on his own.
> just get the firing order from online
That's what I did and it still doesn't turn on, it just cranks but that's it.
Why is your image of a mazda?
I think you got the wrong image, it's black and white firing order my friend.
Now that the dust has settled, is it really better to always use premium gas?
>>14160118
Use whatever gas that doesn't cause knock. That's the only thing that matters.
It's 2016 and people still don't know what octane ratings do. Skin the wikipedia article for 20 minutes and learn some practical knowledge, lad.

Is the "Now that the dust has settled" meme, a meme?
I have an automatic 2001 honda civic lx. My radiator burst and spilled all the coolant, so i replaced it and filled it back up with coolant. The car still overheats. Radiator fan works. the car can only run a short distance before heating up. and i noticed my heater stopped working. Any solutions?
Le head gasket perhaps
